If you've ever been to Japan and found some of the desserts have just the right amount of sweets, this recipe is for you. Sometimes if dessert is in a package it might say something like otona no amasa (translated it means sweetness for adults). that's part of the inspiration for this recipe.
Toppings to make Matcha Ice Cream taste even better
    1. Mochi: Soft, chewy mochi balls pair perfectly with matcha ice cream for a delicious and satisfying dessert.
    2. Red bean paste: A classic Japanese dessert ingredient, sweet red bean paste can be added as a topping or mixed into matcha ice cream for a sweet and creamy treat.
    3. Fresh fruit: Adding fresh fruit like sliced strawberries or raspberries can add a pop of color and sweetness to your matcha ice cream.
    4. Whipped cream: A dollop of whipped cream can add a light and airy texture to your matcha ice cream, making it even more satisfying.
    5. Chocolate sauce: Drizzling chocolate sauce over your matcha ice cream can create a decadent dessert that combines the earthy flavor of matcha with the richness of chocolate.
Creative ways to enjoy matcha ice cream beyond the classic cone:
    1. Matcha affogato: Pour a shot of hot espresso over a scoop of matcha ice cream for a delicious and creamy twist on the classic Italian dessert.
    2. Matcha milkshake: Blend matcha ice cream with milk and ice to create a creamy, refreshing matcha milkshake.
    3. Matcha parfait: Layer matcha ice cream with granola, fresh fruit, and yogurt to create a nutritious and satisfying breakfast or snack.
    4. Matcha mochi ice cream: Wrap small scoops of matcha ice cream in sweet, sticky mochi dough for a bite-sized treat that's perfect for parties or snacking.
    5. Matcha shaved ice: Top a mound of shaved ice with a scoop of matcha ice cream, sweet red bean paste, and condensed milk for a refreshing and delicious dessert.
Here are some tips to make delicious matcha ice cream:
    1. Use high-quality matcha powder: The quality of the matcha powder you use will have a big impact on the flavor and color of your ice cream. Look for a high-quality culinary grade matcha powder that has a vibrant green color and a rich, full-bodied flavor.
    2. Don't overheat the mixture: When making the ice cream base, be sure to heat it over low to medium heat and avoid bringing it to a boil. Overheating the mixture can cause the eggs to curdle and result in a grainy texture.
    3. Chill the mixture thoroughly: After making the ice cream base, be sure to chill it thoroughly in the refrigerator for at least a few hours or overnight. This will help the mixture to thicken and will result in a smoother, creamier ice cream.
    4. Use an ice cream maker: While it is possible to make ice cream without an ice cream maker, using one will result in a smoother and creamier texture. Follow the instructions for your specific ice cream maker and be sure to freeze the ice cream for a few hours after churning to help it set.

Ohhhhh this is perfect! Once matcha is over-sweetened it becomes undrinkable for me -- which is why I always preferred black sesame ice cream over matcha. This is the recipe I've needed. Thank you so much!

I totally get it! Sometimes the music can steal the show when you're trying to focus on learning something new. 😅 Don't worry, though! We'll keep that in mind for future videos and make sure the spotlight stays on the matcha magic.

I know it's not dishwasher safe, but do you always wash the ice cream maker pot by hands?? I really love this icecream machine but only thing I hate is... it's not dishwasher safe 😢

Oh, I totally understand your frustration! IAnd yes, I hand-wash the pot every time. It's a bit of a bummer that it's not dishwasher safe, but the ice cream it churns out is so worth it! Trust me, the extra effort is totally worth the creamy goodness! 😄
