  • This is a video where I share some of my favorite songs in my youth with my friend Andrew. The songs are savior by Rise Against, knights of Cedonia by Muse, and welcome to the Black Parade by My Chemical Romance. I enjoyed this trip down memory lane while seeing him react to it for the first time!

Muse really should be listened to live. They are a whole new level live. Great reaction. Thanks.

yay Muse!! 3 talented men making this epic atmospheric wall of sound. They are a modern Queen to me. they have etched themselves into my ear drums and I am a happy follower.

LOVE Muse, but respectfully can’t see the Queen similarities. For one, felt Queen made more ‘radio friendly’ music..

@@andyc6542 I was thinking more along the impact it has had on me. My ears instant response to both Queens and Muses music. Queen was a revelation to me, and Muse was an epiphany. The respect that they inspire in me as artists and performers. As much as I like other bands and listen to them , they dont make me stop in my tracks to listen and participate in the same way as they did and still do. I cannot get tired of their work. The pleasure is just as visceral.

@@museborn7703 Got you! Makes more sense than comparing them like for like.
Personally, I found getting into Muse a bit more of a challenge (although I’m not sure if that’s the correct word to use, as that implies difficulties!)
My exposure to the two bands are very different - my dad loved Queen, so for me, I learned of their music on trips to see the family an hour or two away. I maybe didn’t appreciate them as much as a child as I do now, but they’ve always been ‘there’ in my life.
When Muse started becoming a force, my musical genre of choice was hip hop, so they flew under the radar for me. I might of heard the odd song here and there and enjoyed it, but it definitely wasn’t the kind of music that I was listening to at the time. Within the last ten years, I’ve started opening my ears to far more genres than ever before, so I’ve been on a musical journey of sorts - really discovered Muse in this time period, and because they’re so different to other bands, it took a few listens of their albums to fully appreciate them.
      Now, I adore them!

@@andyc6542 I completely understand. my experience correlated somewhat. I was a late rock , punk and funk bloomer. I relied on radio for most music access but it was after hearing Hysteria for the first time and not being able to get the hype thrum out of my system that I asked after them and was overwhelmed. Rock does not often include classical pieces of composition or at least what I had heard up until that point and I was in love!!
