- In this episode on Tekniq, we will move through the rigorous manual as well as automated steps to recycle plastic bottles as well as metal and other various materials in different countries worldwide. Later, we see hardworking men and women producing rubber bands in India as well as tennis balls.
it cost more to recycle these plastic bottles than it costs to make new ones. Return to GLASS bottles, Rinse and reuse they will last for YEARS not days like Plastic ones.
that's a great point. Why not go back to glass bottles? well where i live in Canada plastic grocery bags and straw, any take out items all have to be plastic free now. I am hoping to see the plastic bottles to move away completely also.
this only holds true in the west....in se asia labor is cheap, western trash gets shipped for dirt cheap.....so its profitable
So if you don’t approve of recycling used bottles, what would you do with them instead. It is much better to recycle them than to throw them away.
That’s NOT the point! The products that are already piling up on the earth still need to be recycled regardless.
These people work really hard and more than likely get paid very little. Respect to all of them who work there.
Yes really they should get paid well, they risk their life for doing this..by recycling these thing protecting our nature so we could breath fresh air and live good life
Regarding the first segment: More respect than they have for themselves. They wear sandals, have no masks, no gloves. It appears india has no labor regulations, as I've seen videos of their other factories.
They probably don't have Unions to fight for their rights...@@zyxw2000
this was one of my thoughts also. Gosh i hope these people get paid for their worth. you can see how much hard labour and sometimes tedious labour it takes.
The solution is not to recycle, the solution is to stop producing plastic
Can you imagine the fine particles of poison these workers are subject to day in day out. Cheers Rosemary Western Australia 73yrs
As a young teenager (early '70s ) raised in the country we were always taught to be responsible with trash . At that time glass bottles were the choice , they are nearly 100 % natural and !00% recyclable . I have wondered for 60 years how did something that was known to be so bad replace something that was actually a positive . Even if glass is broken it can be melted again sanitarily . It is basically sand . Think about it .
The word convenience replaced the word " Garbage "
Yep, used to take used milk bottles to the shop everytime we bought some.
Plástico é mais barato
the answer to your question is weight ..glass bottles weigh allot more than plastic... so transporting plastic is cheaper than glass ..in turn larger profits..most companies do not think about the future...
of course "refillable" soda bottles was a whole different set of problems..you would take them to a store to get your deposit ..the bottles would sit for a while and attract bees, ants etc..then they would be transported to the bottling company to be washed and sterilized...refilled and shipped back to the store...
Glass was better.
Oil. That's why.
Aside from topic…I love the decorated truck.!
me too! so happy you noticed that also! Cool truck!
Zdlouhavý proces, zápach, bezpečnost práce nikde, dřina. Držte se chlapíci👌.
Our worse day in life would be heaven for these people!
No safety equipment is killing me! Eye protection, respirators, gloves, shoes, ear plugs????? This is an OSHA nightmare!
Might not be that loud
This is only a small fraction of plastic that doesn’t go into landfill.
Probably a lot of American plastic is there too. We don't recycle it here.
Remind me to cut the labels off the soda bottles before putting them in the bin.😳😝
I feel sorry for those Sub Continent worker’s lungs, particularly in the plastics factory. Their life span must be short. Yet they are probably glad of the work to keep their families.
You know its going to shorten their lives breathing that junk. They could wear a mask of they wanted too. People need to learn to protect themselves.
Replying to @juliegale3863:
I WILL FINISH YOUR SENTENCE **FOR** YOU: "fed, clothed and housed" DID I FINISH YOUR SENTENCE RIGHT?
This is what good honest hard work looks like. Pretty cool how they turn old plastic bottles into pipes.
Proprio un bel documentario! siete magnifici , ragazzi!!✌️👌❤️❤️❤️❤️🙋
Endless miles of plumbing pipe from the plastic bottles, perfect.
That's what i was thinking.
I don't think we do but.... Would be nice if my own country could come up and make use of this tech
instead of stock piling it and sending it OS
@@4TheMotorist along with billions of dollars we could use at home.
A little play by play would be nice ! What your doing and why
IMPRESIONANTE! A PESAR DEL SACRIFICIO, EL ESFUERZO DESPROPORCIONADO Y MAL PAGADO, PESE A LA PRECARIEDAD DE LOS MEDIOS... HERMOSO! , INTELIGENTE! EFICIENTE, ÚTIL, ... MERECE MÁS APOYO GUBERNAMENTAL Y SOCIAL!
Fascinated by how tennis ball's are made. We as consumers need to think about how to reduce waste. Thanks to all these people who work hard to reduce waste and make it reusable. Thanks for video.
.... AGAIN! MMmmmmmm... Been Gonna Do It For Eon's.... SAYING IS NOT DOING 8:06
Thanks
This is the first time I know that tennis balls are manufactured in this way
i am only 43 seconds into this video and have to say super good job to these people. hats off!! 😊
Makes you wonder just how much plastic there is in the world.
And guess what it all comes from OIL pumped out of the ground. And what they don't use for Gas and Diesel fuel the turn it into plastics for everything.
We should go back to glass bottles.
or aluminum cans
@@alanl.simmons9726 yep! Totally recyclable!
Imagine if these people invented something we call “worktables”!
I've always been amazed how workers in third world countries squat for hours to work.
A narration would have been very helpful to explain the different steps and where the locations were.
This field is very profitable for me. You can get $200 a day and your capital does not exceed $20,000.

First and last location was in Pakistan for sure. Second last seemed to be Bangladesh.
But at night they're stealing gift cards.
Wonderful. Thank you.
Great work 👍
So there is countries that actually use the plastic waste and recycle it instead of dumping it in the landfill?
Super intéressant cette vidéo 👍👍👍👍👍👍🏆🏆🏆🇨🇭
Sad that there was no explanation of processes and products.
From the artwork on the truck is this by any chance in pakistan
Yup
i wish i could be there to help!!! thank you for having the patience to achieve such a task. our planet also thanks you. ❤
Go to your local garbage collector. They’ll find you a yob separating garbage.
@@mrknotthall i have. i was told i didn't have enough experience.
Great waste recycling plastic technology Indonesia country.
Nice video 😊
Time for entrepreneurs to get into this line lof work.
I AM SO IMPRESSED
😊😅😮😢😊😅😮😢😂😅😊
Wow ...nobody is using Personal Protective Equipment. Very unsafe work environment.
Awesome.
Not crazy, brilliant.
Very good nice 👍
The main problem in recycling is that most recyclables are too contaminated with other materials. Especially during the collection process by the waste companies. If we can all keep them separated and clean from after they are used, recycling would work a lot better and effective. 25 years ago, they used to be separated, but scavengers would come and steel them. So they became mixed so it would too much work for scavengers to steal and then sort it themselves. We still get people who steal all the scrap metal and aluminum cans, but not too many as they still have to sort through the other material to get at them.
Don't know if you're writing from the US. Here there's little to no recycling of plastic because all our recycling plants are privately owned. It's not profitable to recycle plastic, so most of ours gets send to countries in Asia. In many other countries, recycling is done by a government agency, so it doesn't need to be profitable.
Glass and aluminum aren't an issue here.
Cheers from New Orleans. I am very very much interested in new uses for discarded plastics. In fact I make lovely little hats, and they are crafted form recycled plastic water bottles, then turned into rich, deep colored felt fabric. I have enormous admiration for developing countries - which are often so much more active and intelligent about using what we in America call 'waste' Great job!!!
In melbourne australia, they create huge dumps of waste in the outer burbs. After awhile it becomes so huge awaiting recycling that theres an 'accidental' fire, burns for a week or more. Nothing done.
@@EmeraldHill-vo1cs There's also very little recycling of plastic in the US. It's separated out from the metal, paper and glass, but it's not profitable to recycle. It gets sent in huge bricks to Asia, i.e. dumped.
@@zyxw2000 Yeah china got rich taking our stuff to be 'recycled'. Now they wont touch it and have their own probs.
One thinks that this is labor intensive but how much labor and energy goes into getting the raw materials in the first place.
It would help immensely if there was possibly a narrative about what we are watching. What type of waste are we looking at, what type of machine it is processing through etc. A better understanding of what we are watching would help greatly.
The end bit bout tennis balls, is a rip from a diffrnt u tube.
I never see them (India workers) wearing ANY PROTECTIVE SHOES. just sandals .
What are the long colored things?
Good video g ❤️ 👌 👏 👍 😊❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
17:27 Would be great if we actually knew what was going on. A little commentary or close caption would be great. Nice colored rods or thingies.
And take this in: they wear foam sandals, flip flops. Omg.
Piensa.....
The caps left on the bottles is HDPE
PÉSIMAS las condiciones de salubridad.
crazy? fantastic!
Amazing what hands can do with few machines.
interesante los comentarios. "QUE BIEN SE NADA FUERA DEL AGUA. "
Are there any tennis balls made in the u s a.
When I saw those bones coming out of the furnace I wondered how many bodies go threw.
If I had that job working in the operator's chair, I would dress like Darth Vader everyday.
How Many Times U Recyled it's Again It's Plastic only...
Hmm, was a bit hard to follow the narrative structure at times :p
They say plastic isn't good for people, then why aren't these people who work so hard and probably get paid very little, aren't wearing protective gear. I wonder how much plastic is in their lungs from inhaling that dust and stuff all day every day.
It's funny reading comments of higher life forms.😂😂😂
well i see you use alot of water so what happen to that water at the end ?????????????????🙄🙄
Every bottle needs to have the cap removed or they can be rejected at my recycling facility. It prevents cheating on the weight.
in this video you see that the bottle caps float to the top and they get scooped off.
10S NE1...? Plenty of balls, take your pick even!
Here's my suggestion: everyone in western countries buy water in big bulk like every quarter in one big tank. This would get rid of the zillions of small plastic water bottles. You're going to buy water anyway, so get it in one big tank every quarter.😊
Absolutely no wonder so much ends up in the landfills and the oceans.
Where are their protection equipment ?
Hemp polymers make Biodegradable plastics that do not pollute! or waste Oil!
Are the lids and bottles made of the same type of plastic?
i am not an expert but i do not think so..i remember seeing labels saying remove lid before recycling..i could be wrong though..
yeah in this video you see the tops float to the top of the water and they are scooped out. not sure if they are used for anything from there. i'm guessing they go with the pipe making assembly after. i hope so anyway. We are such wasteful people, us humans.@@MickeyMousePark
I bet U.S. OSHA inspectors have heart attacks watching videos like this.
❤❤❤
20:19 I have no doubt that this process is automated in the USA, UK and other advanced countries. Not sure which process the manual or automated one would make a better tennis ball.😊
End products are same difference is machinery and human involvement same amount of ingredients are used with same weight and volumes we export it to Europe from Pakistan
Knowing about the unsafe conditions and labor practices in Indian factories, I wouldn't buy anything from India or Pakistan.
AMANCO. 🤔🌎🌍🌏⭐

make plastic lego bricks and build houses
This first place is OSHA’s nightmare

They don't do that in America that I know of because it makes too much sense
How did that guy get the touch of a job ,operating the giant claw machine
he's a "white man?" Easy sit down job to maneuver a few buttons and game shifter. He is in the cleanest area of the plant too.
Factory number please?
Notice how they never show where the mountain of Labels and caps go
Even there you do not see water bottles
THE guy shoveling the green molds ----he does NOT wear a facial mask, ???? HOW dare he is doing that ?????
Here in the US we are not interested in recycling but in how can we make a buck off it.
PVC pipe is plastic. Is that made in the USA ???
Plastic bottles and plastic cups and bags, blame it on the tree huggers, they are the ones that wanted plastic to replace paper.
Asu se me hace mucho trabajo
