You guys are so young. Take this lyric to heart, “but there never seems to be enough time to do the things you wanna do once you find them”. Jim Croce was only 30 years old when he died in a plane crash. Every day is a gift. Don’t take for granted that you have all the time in the world. Live each day doing what you love and please keep bringing together generations and all people together with your videos. You guys are awesome.
My mom is in her final stages of cancer. Maybe a week left. This song by The Man Jim Croce makes me now realize how precious time is. Feels like last week I was a teenager listening to this. Thank you.

You want sad, we were in class watching the shuttle launch when the Discovery shuttle blew up live, the one that had the teacher on it. Our teacher broke down in tears. Most of the schools ended up canceling the day and sending everyone home.
I think this was the last song that he recorded before passing in the plane crash. There’s a sort of irony attached to this song especially when you have listened to the words, the melody is hauntingly beautiful and a bit melancholy, even though he is speaking with love for someone there feels like almost a sense of regret for lack of time or for lost time in his life, there’s a feeling In the sound of the music, & the lyrics are straight forward, there’s not Really any metaphors there, to me it seems ironic or eerily foreshadowing his demise that would happen soon after this song, It’s tragic, especially since he was at the young age of 30 & had just started a family then passed away! This song has an actual TRUE meaning, No one can bottle time, and it passes so fast, in a blink, before you even can realize it’s passed you up and if you don’t take the time to make yourself stop and notice the beauty in life and in the world or to take chances on yourself and do what you love, what you want to do but may be afraid to take that step, or to love who you feel like loving, say what you mean to the ppl that matter or for yourself, then time can leave you far behind with many regrets! So count your blessings as they come, observe and take notice, you may have hard times but in your focus on them and the struggles you could be blinding and denying yourself of opportunity and love, it’s very easy to take for granted who and what you may already have good in your life until it’s all gone or they aren’t there anymore! And don’t get caught up in your careers or selves to where you go blind either, this is for everyone, So look at the sky, the stars, the moon, life around you as it’s happening and breathe in the air bc no one really knows when it may be their last or their loved ones last! Material things are just that, they r nice but nothing lasts forever, good or bad! With that all being said I love watching you both! "I Got A Name", or "Have to Say I Love U in a Song". Are so damn good. In fact this whole album is beautiful. Or Bread "Aubrey" now thats another front to back great album too. Lord, I'm old. Lol
The first time I heard this song was in the movie "She Lives" about a young couple and the girl had hodgkins lymphoma and they had to travel to ny to get some new cutting edge treatments for cancer. My favorite sing of all time. Then years later I was also diagnosed with hodgkins. Im still here 22 years later.
Jim Croce was very gifted. He wrote his own songs, played the guitar beautifully, and was very down to earth. Tim, you seem to have big dreams. You should listen to his song 'New York's Not My Home'. Oh, if you listen to 'Operator" he's making a call from a PHONE BOOTH-you might need to google that to understand the song.
I love "New York's Not My Home". It epitomizes NYC in the 70's and I was a small-town girl who realized that New York was definitely not my home even though I loved certain aspects of it, of course. I had to reconcile my big city dreams with my desire to be close to family and my hate of cockroaches (horrible, horrible creatures)😄

@@citimutts3288 Thank you for trying to help me. Please do yourself a favor and listen to where Kendrick Lamar took the music from "i"- The Isley Brothers! Who's That Lady. 1964. You're actually making my point. Motown was awesome. I appreciate that Kendrick Lamar's lyrics mean something to you. I can't even understand what he's saying or singing??? The Isley Brothers may change your life! I'm guessing you are way too young to have even heard of them. Actually this song was out before I was born. But, quality music stands the test of time.
I would also encourage you to approach RAP from its historical roots (Rhythm and Poetry) which merged both the urban sounds of the streets to Spoken Word. Not just in this last 35 - 40 years, but back to the 50's. Both parts of rap bring together a reality for people of color which should not be dissected.
Diego Rodriguez Way too young - aww I wish! I’m over 50. I’ve been away and haven’t had a chance to re-listen to “i” against “Who’s That Lady”, which I remember from my childhood. But I will, I promise. I had to laugh at you saying “I can’t understand what he’s saying.” My mom’s exact words about the music I listened to in my teens. 😆
Great reaction. You are 100% right when you say that great songs don't always have to be loud or complicated - sometimes just one man with a guitar is greatness in and of itself. Croce truly did die too young - one of my generation's best storytellers.
Jim Croce wrote this song after his wife told him she was pregnant in December 1970. It was on his debut album in 1972. It seems like a hymn of appreciation to his wife, while at the same time expressing some conflict about allocating time for other things. It was rereleased after he died in an airplane crash in September 1973. RIP, Jim.
I love seeing some young kids finding the best singer/songwriter of all time. Jim is timeless. He was before my time also, I remember going through my grandmas records and putting his records on. His music helped me a lot through her death years later.
I love you guys. You never are negative. You give me hope for youth. Kudos to your mom...great parenting. I loved Jim ... gone way to early. He had si much more ti give the world.

Keep on learning , Young Men...Love how you have a curiosity and respect for all generations! and I feel that the early days of Rock & Roll and all the way up into the 90's..was some of the best!
One of the most beautiful voices and such a wonderful storyteller. Like so many of the greats of music, he was taken too early. Thank you for bringing this to me.
Obsessed with Jim Croce in 7th grade. Started playing guitar. Devastated when he died. Of all songs with lyrics, Time in a Bottle is my favorite. Another great story-telling song of his you would enjoy is Operator.
In 1973 when Time in a Bottle was released, I was 15 years old. I bought the 45 and wore it out! By reacting to this Jim Croce masterpiece, the gentlemen twins took me back to the best part of my youth, the music. Thank you.
One of the great singer-songwriters of the 70s. This is a lovely, heartfelt ballad, but he has rockers as well. It was a very sad week for me when his plane went down. Thank you for taking my suggestion (I'm sure one of many), and for reviewing Jim Croce and keeping his music alive.
It's so refreshing to see young men hearing music from my teen years and being so respectful. I've not watched y'all before but now I've subscribed to your RUclips videos. Keep up the great work!!!

R. Anthony - Do you have any recommendations?
Great reaction. You are 100% right when you say that great songs don't always have to be loud or complicated - sometimes just one man with a guitar is greatness in and of itself. Croce truly did die too young - one of my generation's best storytellers.
Hey Guys, my suggestion is anything from Pink Floyd- Dark side of the moon.
My dad loved Jim. I grew up listening to all those great 60’s and 70’s songs. He passed away when I was 13 and I miss him everyday.
Died young in a crash as his career was taking off
So glad you've discovered Jim Croce! He was an incredibly gifted man. Peace and Love!
Jim Croce. Unapologetically heartfelt lyrical melodies. And you guys get that thoughtful is O K.
I love this song..all of his songs. Thanks guys for loving this great music!
I love you guys. You never are negative. You give me hope for youth. Kudos to your mom...great parenting. I loved Jim ... gone way to early. He had si much more ti give the world.
Dang! Never fails to surprise me to see the huuuuuuuge variety of songs you check out. And that you listen to them for real, give them a fair shot. Love it!
I just love you guys! You just took me back to my 13 year old self...1973. I wish that girl would have known her worth and how fast those years would go by. Thank you for making my day❤️
Moody Blues!!!!! Knights in white satin🥰🥰🥰 you 2 are awesome, in such a difficult time you have brought me back to listening to music with my dad!!(he passed 10 tears ago) thank you for such a beautiful gift!!
Never have I been more addicted to a RUclips channel -- and I'm 64 years old! Your openness and authenticity is so refreshing. Thank you for sharing your reaction to this song. My first love and I called this "our song" back in 1974.
Oh.....y’all did the one I suggested! My daddy loved this song. 💜💗
This song always brings me to tears. This guy was my Granpas favorite musician. I grew up listening to him. At my Grandpa's funeral, I was asked to choose a song to play after I spoke, and this is the one I chose.
One of MY FAVORITE SONGS!
1973 good times!
Love 💕 it!
Jim Croce was a Poet of my youth! He died the night before my Senior Ring Day!..that song kept going through my head throughout the whole ceremony!!..Miss him greatly!..can only imagine what else he would have given this world! Keep on learning , Young Men...Love how you have a curiosity and respect for all generations! and I feel that the early days of Rock & Roll and all the way up into the 90's..was some of the best!
I’m so happy you both are listening to this! It was our wedding song back in 81, Jim gone way to soon🥰🥰🥰
I was 3 when this song came out. I loved it then and It's still as beautiful now. Thanks you guys. You are so refreshing.
Ya’ll are open, honest, positive, and completely charming! And just really fun to watch!
I remember this song from my childhood. It always sounded so wistful and bittersweet.
One of my favorites of all time. Makes me feel sad when I hear him. So much potential. RIP
Glad you two are exploring some of the '70's classics! It was a GREAT time for music!
Thank you, gentlemen- I love this song! One of the BEST storytellers of all time!
I love you guys. I'm so glad you tried this one out. His storytelling songs are so good. You're right...smooth.
It's been a long time since I've heard this song,it took me right back to the first time I heard it! And the love of my young soul!
