While the later non-transforming toys were lame in comparison to what came before, I’d argue they’re still better than the cardboard figures they have now.
@@tuckerdidit42 2001, the very first wave of BIONICLE were mcdonalds toys called the Tohunga, later renamed the Matoran so the maori people wouldnt sue lego
You could pretty easily make a part two given how many more obscure ones there are. Summarizing TFWiki, some of the ones you missed are: St. Louis Mcdonalds had an exclusive test run of non-transforming versions of the minibots for G1. Dairy Queen had some sort of Generation 2 line that included an Optimus, but has no pictures of what it looked like Checkers/Rallys had a Rhinox toy as the Transformers representative for a line of assorted Hasbro toys. Red Rooster, an Australian restaurant, had 4 alternate colors each of 4 of the Mcdonalds BM toys. Jolibee had a beast machines toyline, which TFWiki notes was inexplicably released just short of a decade after the show stopped airing. European McDonalds and Latin America both had exclusive lines for Transformers Energon. (The European version even had a Unicron) Jolibee once again did a line for Cybertron, apparently based on the "Legends of Cybertron" Legends scale of the time, but with reduced articulation points. Red Rooster had toylines for the first two Bayverse movies. Jolibee did similar, once again, gutted versions of the legends figures. Southeast Asian KFCs had toys for the second and third films. Brazil, Mexico, and Venuzuela had exclusive Animated happy meal toys using the flip changers concept. Japanese Mcdonalds had a Transformers Prime line, fusing the classic "Mcdonalds food turns into robot" concept with official transformers.
In 2004, the UK McDonalds did a range of Transformers Energon Happy Meal Toys. What made this rage so infamous was one of the characters who got picked to get a toy was none other than the Chaos Bringer himself, Uncrion! This was pretty nuts as a couple of years before this, Unicron had close to ZERO figures out at retail, with only the Armada figure and the then black repaint only being out for a short time before this. It seems the glory days are long gone of little kids getting good Transformer Happy Meals Toys, let alone getting a Happy Meal Toy of The Transformers version of The Devil/H.P Lovecraft.
So in 2007 Jolibee (A fast food restaurant in the philippines ) released 4 figures that are just Upscaled legend class figures of Optimus,Megatron,Barricade and Bumblebee
I vaguely recall having the ambulance transformer from the ‘07 line, but I do remember getting Bumblebee and The Fallen from the ROTF line. Also, I think I only ever got Starscream from the Animated line, and I liked its regular form more than when it was transformed, but boy, that Optimus Prime one looked great for a Happy Meal toy.
3:42 I remember playing with a beetle transformers toy just like that... I just don't remember if it was one of the toys from the toy corner for kids at a restaurant I went to, or one I actually owned 6:23 I also remember playing with that Megatron toy... But without the tank stuff attached to his back 10:46 I 100% know guaranteed I own/owned that bumblebee figure
Loved this video, I was obsessed with these as a kid every time there was a new set. The only thing missing was the hunt for the Decepticons wave from McDonald’s. They didn’t transform, but were highly detailed robot mode figures that I think hold up pretty well.
