POKEMON TEAM:
Gyarados (Lum Berry)

252 ATK , 252 SPE
Waterfall
Earthquake
Crunch
Dragon Dance
Garchomp (Life Orb)
Nature: Jolly

Swords Dance
Dragon Claw
Earthquake
Stone Edge
Cloyster (Focus Sash)
Nature: Jolly

Shell Smash
Icicle Spear
Rock Blast
Ice Shard
Please take note that Cloyster's weakness are Steel-Fighting Pokemon so be careful when you stumble upon Heatran, Lucario, Metagross, Bronzong, etc. Watch our for Pokemon such as Quagsire and Clefable with the Unaware ability as status moves won't work on them.
Share your teams! I'd like to know your tips and tricks as well so we can all help each other out.

Master Rank Team guide is up my guys! 💯🔥 Hope you enjoy the team and I will upload more the lodicokes army 😎
I love how you explained how to get a good cloyster for this run. Most people just tell you to run a specific mon. Earned a sub for that!
Quick note, Pokémon in the Grand Underground have egg moves. I got Rock Blast on my Shelder by catching one that knew the move already in the Underground. I found that way more fun than digging for fossils. Then I just used Hyper Training to get the IVs.
Ur my mvp
@@spence8931 When you use a gold/sivler bottle cap to max out IVs
how'd you level up to 100? Im trying to find some fast ways
Where exactly did you find shellder? I'm trying to find one myself and I can't find it anywhere.
@@sundead3770 you can find it in Fountainspring Cave, Riverbank Cave and Still-Water Cavern. (You need National dex)
nice quick guide, love the format you use, and the information in between for getting the hard stuff (like rock blast and shelder) really helps new trainers :)
the team i used for my streak was:
1st - Azumaril adamant with sitrus berry
belly drum
waterfall
play rough
water jet
ev 240 in hp
252 atk
rest speed
2nd garchomp similar to yours
3rd timid gengar with focus sash
shadow ball
sludge bomb
dazzling gleam
nasty plot
252 satk 252 speed rest hp
Good job on the video, keep up the good work
White Herb Shell Smash Cloyster has been my go-to for VGC, so it'a nice seeing others talk about the GOD herself.
Nasty plot Gengar is pretty good as well as belly drum Azumarill. I’m going to try out a swords dance Infernape build too. Imo having some sort of pseudo-legendary is a must and Garchomp has been the best performer for me thanks to his typing.
Nice team. I got to my 49 win streak on my first try with...
Latios with Life Orb - Psychic, Dragon Pulse, Ice Beam, Thunderbolt
Cloyster with Focus Sash - Icicle Spear, Razor Shell, Rock Blast, Shell Smash
Garchomp with Yache Berry - Outrage, Earthquake, Stone Edge, Swords Dance
If you want Rock Blast and Outrage you need to breed for them moves. If you don't want to breed Outrage for Garchomp you can just use Dragon Claw or Dragon Rush. This team also doing me very well in the Masters too.
Lost at battle 48. A empolion got the freeze with ice beam, then politode used parish song, and the last mon kept substituting till I died
100 Win Guide soon! With more Pokemon set and strats, my guys!
I managed it the other day, team was as follows;
Gengar (Modest w/ max sp.atk & speed)
Holding Focus sash
Nasty plot/Shadow ball/Sludge bomb &
Dazzling gleam
Salamence (Adamant w/max atk/speed)
Holding Yache berry
Outrage/Earthquake/Fly & Brick break
Empoleon (Modest w/max atk/speed)
Holding Expert belt
Scald/Flash cannon/Ice beam and
Grass knot
I just completed my 49 win strak with a Gengar, Milotic and Dragonite. Gengar with Nasty Plot and Focus Sash almost 1-shots every Pokemon with a few exceptions. Milotic was my safeswap and Dragonite came in for the clean-up.
What moves did they use and which max stats? Did you need to breed any poke?
@@Gregarman
Gengar: Focus Sash
Nasty Plot
Shadow Ball
Sludge Bomb
(Optional but I used a Fairy move)
Dragonite: Life Orb
Dragon Dance
Outrage
Earthquake
Roost
Milotic: Leftovers
Ice Beam
Scald
Protect
Recovery
@@TheBeastyHD Any rare abilities needed?
@@Gregarman Not really. Multiscale on Dragonite would be optimal but I made it without it. 200GP is way too much to farm
@@TheBeastyHD Any specific abilties on Gengar and Milotic too?
Wellmade vid, walkthru on how to build Cloyster was super useful. thanks
I appreciate you man. Another Pokemon BDSP guide coming soon!
100 Win Guide in the Battle Tower really soon!
Btw, if you cannot find a fossil, Octilery can learn Rock Blast (heart scale) as well and you can breed it with a Shellder. You could also find a Shellder in the underground since it can learn egg moves. Thanks to the comment section for the amazing info for the community! :)
You can't breed an Octilery and Shellder , they are not in the same familly tree. But Yeah need luck to find a Shellder in the underground with rock blast.
@@lsephiroths8194Aren't Octillery and Shellder/Cloyster in the same egg group? I checked it out here: game8.co/games/Pokemon-Brilliant-Diamond-Shining-Pearl/archives/348548
But I shall do some testing!
Then breed it with a corsola with rock blast
Here are some pokemon that also have potential
-Multiscale dragonite (can reliably ddance with multiscale)
-Suicune, can reliably calm mind a few times and restore health and status with rest and a chesto berry/leftovers
-Speed boost Blaziken probably solid with protect and one sd it can reliably sweep.
-magnezone, can trap and kill many steel types
-infernape, blaze, focus sash, can nasty plot then activate blaze ability and sweep with flamethrower/ close combat for special walls.
-dugtrio can trap and ohko many pokemon weak to its STAB
These are just ideas that pop up in my head that I haven't seen too many people talking about There's plenty more!
Amazing sets, my guy! I do have some of these Pokemon in my upcoming 100W guide. Really fun sets and strats!
speed boost blaziken is not really attainable for first singles win streak as you need ability patch, and grinding 200 bp 3 at a time is hell
@Bradley Nugent I was under the impression my comment was just written about pokemon that have potential. Not pokemon that are good for a first time bp farm team or something. Lol sure it's hard but there are also other ways to get hidden abilities in this game as well so there is that too like breeding a mon you caught through pokeradar that has a hidden ability
@@calebmon oh he has a master rank video with speed boost blaziken, I just thought since this video was for beginners it would be better to showcase mons without HA’s or hard to get egg moves, but speed boost blaziken is for sure amazing for battle tower in general
@Bradley Nugent the original comment and this video were both made before the later video was even made though, I was just pointing out pokemon who are viable without any regard for how hard they are to get because it's post game.
So far I am breezing through with a Sheer Force Nidoking that is setup as a special sweeper with Life Orb, Sand Stream Tyranitar with Dragon Dance and a Gyarados with Dragon Dance. My Gyarados has Waterfall, Thrash, and Ice Fang. Thrash is really nice and sweeps pretty much anything once you get the Dragon Dances off.
Did you use ability patch for your nidoking? I have a built nidoking but it has poison point and 200 bp will take forever to get :(
Not as useful as cloyster but I used an adamant scizor instead. Swords dance to get a 180 base power priority bullet punch which can sweep through any non bulky pokemon that doesnt resist it. Also scizor only has one weakness(fire) with decent defence so it should be able to stay in the fight for quite some time. I use it to take out ice type pokemons that threaten my garchomp
I may be to late but FYI Crasher Wake's Kingdra with Swift Swim is faster than the Cloyster if you don't let the Drizzle run out.
That one NPC wiped my whole team following your Cloyster guide. Except it had razor shell instead of ice shard. Never let a cloyster setup shell smash.
Damn those NPCs watching this Cloyster guide! 😆
@@CokesPH hey man. I am now breeding a jolly cloyster after watching this. You got yourself a new sub. 😁

latios/ttar/gyarados have been my top carries to master :3
Yeah that team is also fire! I wish i had a latios atm :(
I done it with Gyarados, Snorlax and Staraptor. Don’t know how it worked but it did, never played this tower mode before either
congrats, my guy! Get them 100 wins let's go
@@CokesPH I will try my best😅finding I’m being brought to my last Pokémon now every match. Fingers crossed, loving the content too!
Starting with gyrados went well until battle 47 when i met a competitive milotic. Murdered my whole team.
for Milotic, deal decent damage to it (around 20-25% HP less) then switch to Cloyster for an OHKO Rock Blast (with Shell Smash boost) :)
at least this was my play when I went up against bulky milotics. Cloyster will be super clutch in most battles
@@CokesPH Okay i'll try to get one.
@@norbertnorbertson4855 I'm sure Gyarados can deal tons of damage to that Milotic but be careful of Recover!
@@CokesPH It even held a berry which boosted it's speed when after low hp. Do they all have the same movesets/items or are they different?
I have tried this and it has def helped me understand competitive a bit more thanks cokes
You can also get Corsala in the underground which can have the egg move of Rock Blast. I believe Corsala is the only other than fossils with it. It needs to be the underground for Rock Blast I think. Good lukc
Nice guide :) I already got the 49 victories so but I've not tried the 100 yet so I'll be waiting for your video. Just a small note : the calculation of stats is not linear : doubling your speed is not equal to doubling your base speed. Actually, a +2 cloyster outspeeds deoxys-speed which has 180 base speed :)
Thanks for this, my guy! Yeah, the stat calcs are crazy in this game. Better to have a stat calculator indeed during intense battles!
I was running Cloyster, Gyara and Ttar but kept losing to the Metagross, gonna bring in garchomp now
Thanks so much man, cloyster is a beast!
Thanks man, tried it so many times with Gengar, Garchomo + X and it always failed... Even though I hesitated at first to build Cloyster it just was the gamechanger. Battle 41 only Cloyster with 1 HP left against full HP Swampert. And it literally oneshot it with 1 attack. Looking forward to the masterclass!
Go get that Master Rank, my guy!
I needed to see this I'm also currently using gengar, garchomp etc. And if this makes it a breeze I'll talk your guys word on it
@@neosdgod yep, Cloyster will do the dirty work for you late in the battle. Just be careful not to use Cloyster against steel type pokemon as ice and rock moves are not effective. Better to send Garchomp against a steel type :)
I used Gengar for a while just because I like it. Then I switched to a Nasty Plot w/ Focus Sash Gengar and then I used it to sweep.
Nice tactics, but fail. I used to play a similar cloyster in battle maison quite a while ago and had to learn a few things:
- explosion / surf > rock blast. Choosing high accuracy moves only is very important. 90 accuracy is not enough when doing series of battles. Eventually rock blast will miss when you need it the most.
- surf > ice shard. Arguably surf is the better move for coverage against rock types, and cloyster doesn't need ice shard priority move in 99% of all cases because of its high speed after using a shell smash, and it will practically never be needed as a revenge killer.
- focus sash isn't as good as it seems: It can give you a deceiving sense of safety, but there are plenty of scenarios, which can render the sash useless (and they happened). Fake out users, weather conditions like sandstorm, and even attack move effects like an inflicted burn or poison status after barely surviving a fire or poison attack will finish cloyster off while it is setting up shell smash.
-your garchomp is weak and latios (among others) will wreck it. How about some adamant choice scarf garchomp that knows outrage, earthquake, poison jab and aerial ace instead? It never let me down in master class. Last move slot doesn't really matter, but I use aerial ace against double team spammers.
That said, wrecking the ai with shell smashed icicle spear feels incredibly satisfying.
What do you mean give cloyster a heartscale to learn moves?
Dont know if anyone else pointed it out yet... but in your first image, you have Garchomp labeled as Gyrados and vice versa.
My team is almost the same, just a tyranitar instead of garchomp. Cze of the sandstream can ko those with focus sash.
I’m not nearly as far, but my team is practically the same.
Instead of garydos, I have an umbreon with max speed and defense.
I gave it leftovers with double team, substitute, baton pass and moonlight.
It’s basically flints drifbloom lol it allows me to set up EVERY time. I’m about 20 battles in though. Wish me luck
Good luck my guy! Umbreon is usually a Sp Def Wall. But the first 49 battles shouldn’t be too difficult if you play your pokemon team right. 🔥
@@CokesPH lol I lost. I see where I went wrong though. You’re absolutely right. It’s supposed to be SP. Defense, but somehow I messed it up.
I’m gonna make a new umbreon and try again.
With all these tough requirements I'll need to wait till the Home update is ready
not really that "tough" all egg moves are free if you catch your Pokémon in the underground.
@@FR099Y actually I already assembled a team
u a filipino bro?? This is a huge help I’m doing ribbon quests right now since the home update launched
Fun fact! You can transfer egg moves simply by breeding, so you can level your shellder up in the underground while looking for egg move shellder, then use move deleter in canalave city and put the two Pokémon in the daycare and the move will transfer over to your already level 50 shellder!
Damn, thank you for that!
Will male/male work or does it have to be a female? Noob sorry
@@SaLazerSSB If you are breeding, the Shellder needs to be a female so you can get a shellder as the offspring :) Just ask away, my guy. Don't limit yourself!
@@SaLazerSSB if they are both shellders you can use male/male or female/female
@@isaacyee3245I’m trying to transfer zen head but from 1 snorlax to another
If it holds the Lum Berry will the berry be used up forever when eaten?
Nope, it will be used once in the battle but your Pokemon will still hold the Lum Berry after the battle.
@@CokesPH Thank you so much! You've helped all of us finally get it.
Im late to the party but what’s your cloyster’s nature? And how do you breed with an omastar to get rockblast but keep the nature (im guessing adamant because max atk)
You can use ARDAMANT ofc. Also, you dont need to Max out the speed EV on cloister because it will outspeed jolteon when you get shell smash up with maybe like 70 Speed EV or so. You can put the rest into HP. You need to give the female whith the correct nature an everstone so the Baby will Inherent the nature as its mother. From this point on it is just rng for the ability skill link to appear. I got a pretty decent one after 3h of breeding eggs, hatching and so on, but its Worth the time !
I got the cloyster and grades exactly like u but I'm gonna go with infernape instead and see what happens. I previously got to 38 and cant get higher so hopefully this team will do it.
good luck, my guy! your cloyster will come in clutch

@@CokesPH right now ik watching movies and playing my switch on the side I'm at 14 battles and havnt even brought put infernape yet but before I would get past 21 with just him basically
Actually, I had JUST defeated the 49th Palmer with Cloyster. He summoned Cressalia and I all I did was 3 Shell Smashes and the rest was history. For the Master Class, I use: Metagross/Suicune/ Tyranitar/Raikou/Latias/Gliscor
Like the way you explained your Pokémon in detail.
i appreciate you!
The first time I beat rank 10 my team was sash gengar with destiny bond, taunt and 2 atacks, adamant band dnite and sub calm mind suicune. Extremely solid team, easy af to get to rank 10
Quick note give your omanite an everstone or it wil evolve on lvl 45 and you wont get rock smash and you cant breed with the evelution
i almost made it with azumarril, salamence and magnezone. But that cloyster seems powerful
Yeah this clam comes in clutch sometimes but be careful of Steel Type and Unaware pokemon as it's difficult to OHKO them with Cloyster. But every Pokemon in the normal rank should be within OHKO range.
Who leads? Who’s mid? & who is last?
I got into master class - with entei, salamance, raikou and suicunr
ahh the dogs did their job #respect
i got cheesed by a hypnosis dream eater team...I might actually quit this game I was on battle 42 after a week...
Yeah these trainers are crazy. Thats why I use Lum Berry for extra security!
My Colyster was instantly put to sleep by milotic and I lost
Do you have recommended Pokemon Team when battling in WIFI MODE?
I found a similar team and set online that's just as good. Except I ran adamant on the cloyister with waterfall instead of ice shard and a tyranitar with dragon dance instead of garchomp.

Looking forward to trying these sets out. I assume the HA on Garchomp doesn't matter that much? I won't be able to get it until I get the 200 BP from a bunch of wins so kind of stuck on that.
Yes, the rough skin does not USUALLY matter. But in the high tier Master Ranks, some Focus Sashed physical pokemon will faint from the Rough Skin! I've gotten maybe a couple of clutch Rough Skin damage on some scary Pokemon in the high tier Master Rank Battles.
I've been using Spore Breloom and She'll smash Blastoise!
Do IVs really matter here if all their EVs and everything else is good?
What if you don’t have earthquake on your Chomp? What is a good replacement?
What happens if you EV train the Shellder before evolving to Cloyster? Are EV still maxed after evolving?
Yes! EV Values will be recalibrated. It will still show the "max" stats even though it's a Shellder.
@@CokesPH awesome that helps me a ton thank you!
I wanna see the full video/stream of him climb
Nice video! Why not use sth like ice beam or even surf instead of ices hard. I hardly ever used ice shard. One note: Omanyte learns rock blast at lvl 49 (not 45).
Cloyster wow 👍🤣

@@CokesPH if it ain’t 100 percent accurate then it’s -10000 percent accurate lmao
Can you get past the 49 battles without your Pokemon having 5 perfect IVs? 😣
I have my team EV trained, but they have anywhere from "good" to "great" stats
Alternatively can I breed shelder with a pokémon from the same egg group and have the move rock blast be passed on?
Yes, I believe so!
Pokemon in the underground can have egg moves, so if you want to save some time, just catch a shellder in the underground with rock blast already on it!
Love this - I tried catching a Shellder in the underground before but my odds and luck weren't the best so I have no idea the Shellder would have rock blast!
Omanyte evolves to omastar at lvl 40…will this mess up the breeding if it’s no longer an omanyte or are you still able to breed it with shellder
no it won't! you may use omastar to breed with a shellder
What about skipping the rock blast and using whirlpool instead? I dont feel like searching hours for a fossil
Whirlpool is a special move, which won't be as effective since Cloyster has a low Sp. Atk Base Stat at 85 without any EV train points. Rock Blast on the other hand is physical which can bring out the most damage potential with your Cloyster. I know the grind of finding a fossil takes awhile but digging for treasure in the underground is really fun!
I can trade you an Anorith
@@markhemelt6286 thx but I'm on 1.1.1 trying to grind for a gold bottle cap and dupe it like 100 times. Already got 100 ability patches
Spent 8+ hours at this point searching for omanyte and/or anorith. Ready to rip my hair out. My Shining Pearl odds are horrendous.
cant you breed with ditto?
@@Xeakerr you'll need an omanyte/anorith to pass the Rock blast to a shellder since it's an egg move
You got this, Tony. Have faith!
It might be faster to just catch shelder in the underground as they can have egg moves there and just get lucky, I didn’t even try and got it that way
good entei single team?
I m not sure whether i should run with jolly or nature, since shell smash gives me enough speed.
You should still run it with Jolly just in case there are choice scarf users in later battles. Also! It's a good investment to have a Jolly Cloyster if you plan to do random WiFi online battles as well. But! You may use an Adamant one if you think that's best for you.
@@CokesPH thx, i only play battle tower master class.
Sadly in my whole tab of fossil pokemon I have no rock blast. I am sad, but I will manage to build this somehow.
Don’t give up. You could try to get a Shellder underground as it will already contain Rock Blast. However, it is quite rare!
@@CokesPH Managed to get it on my second catch! Thanks for the nudge ;)
does omanyte need to know rock blast when it breeds? my shelder still hasnt learned it at level 45
yes. rock blast is an egg move and it should be passed down to shellder via breeding
I have everything but how am i supposed to get hidden ability on my cloyster
Skill Link is not a hidden ability. It's just Cloyster's normal ability between skill link and Shell Armor
@@CokesPH yeah saw it lol, thanks nevertheless. I have my shellter at 5/6 ev for now.
Genius!
How do people get such high streaks in the battle tower? I was at a 30 win-streak with this team and then got completely swept by a octillery with moody… Literally nothing I could do…
*THAT*…is the question. Personally, I don’t believe in any team’s consistency. It may appear well and good, but there’s one part of the equation that isn’t adding up every time. The opposing trainer teams. These videos are going off the trainer teams they’ve individually encountered throughout the entire 49 matches they went through to reach their success. There are many factors that contribute to the success other than mons and skill. These videos do not dive into it bc it cannot guarantee that even with the same team and skill level that you will achieve the same outcome bc the missing opposing team generation part of the equation. And if we’re to go off that this is trial by fire and we’re to keep at it until we can achieve the 49, then the success rate of the teams recommended aren’t as successful as they appear as it relies on many other things which makes the team building concept alone everything but the sole key to winning.
Essentially, it’s false advertising.
❤
Is Razor Shell viable as substitute for Ice Shard cuz I'm not running another Water pokemon (DDance TTar / Choice Scarf Garchomp + Gengar)
Ice shard is for situations wherein the opponent could have a priority move like quick attack, extreme speed, sucker punch, bullet punch, etc. So really up to you! Substitute might not work tho as you'll need to set up shell smash first thing in the battle.
Why two ice attacks in cloyster?
Does focus sash work with shell smash? Im running mine with life orb
I swapped Life orb for a focus sash and saw improvement in cloyster lasting longer more often
the teaching cloyster icicle spear through a heart scale is an unnecessary step, he learns it through evolution, so giving it the water stone is all you need to do
my cloyster did not learn icicle spear through evolution. hence, i needed the heart scale for it to learn icicle spear.
Would Stone Edge also be good on the gyarados instead of Earthquake?
Based on my experience, Earthquake is more viable than Stone Edge since Gyarados can be OHKO'd by electric Pokemon. By setting up with Dragon Dance (DD), you can outspeed most Electric Type Pokemon and OHKO them with EQ. Plus it gives you advantage over Steel Type and Poison Pokemon.
@@CokesPH I've been running my gyarados with stone edge, however I gave him a wacan berry so that I don't get OHKO'd by electric mons. It's been working pretty well.
I have som eggs bot do thee kom also with jolly out of the egg or?
You'll need to put an Everstone on the parent that has the Jolly nature so you can pass down the Nature to the egg
Salamat
Breeze tight thru it with some youtubers free shiny legend giveaway. Been farming bo since
How did you beat walls like vaporeon with ice beam, scald, rest, acid armor?
Gyarados with Dragon Dance can take on Vaporeon. Setting up Dragon Dance early will apply a lot of pressure to the Vaporeon. If Gyarados somehow faints, make sure you leave Vaporeon at 25-30% HP and then send out Garchomp. Garchomp will most likely take it out with one hit.
@@CokesPH how did you manage to bypass most evasion strats or the other dumb sets of the battle tower like that sharpedo that keeps flinching.
I am trying to get to 100 wins, my record is 93 but my team can’t reliably deal with all the hacks of the battle tower (Cloyster, Azelf, Tyranitar).
I also have a team (Swampert, Scizor, Dragonite) but this struggles with bulky water types
@@noahhuls 93 is amazing, my guy! I'm currently at 95 (just taking a break) - this guide is specifically for 49 win streaks only but to give you advise, those evasion strats are really the worst. Cloyster (link, shell smash)
Tyranitar
Gyarados
All ev trained but can’t seem to defeat tycoon in 21st battle. And normally it should be easy…
Hey, anyone came accross that legendary ampharos set ; Toxic orb, Fling, Facade, T-Wave and Rest... ? wth is that even supposed to do, it was at my 42nd battle lmao battle tower trolling me for sure
lmao some of these NPC trainers really have these insane hax strats to annoy you. Wait til you come across annoying Unaware Quagsire with Toxic, Stockpile, Recover Yawn
Does the omastar i get from the underground need to already have rock blast in its moveset.
You’ll just need the fossils since you really need to level them up to get Rock Blast. 👌
Cloyster use shell smash
Gengar use hipnosis
Gengar use thunderbolt gg
Jk good team
my team is the same but I run Tyranitar over garchomp
i FKING lost to that starmie 3 times already
I used this team and got eliminated at 27
What do you need this win streak for?
you need the 49-win streak to gain access to the Master Rank
How did you get hidden ability garchomp???
Ability patch!
@@CokesPH oh ok i was hoping there was a way for me to get it before i start working on the battle tower
