- Last decades of the Cold War were a golden age for attack helicopters. Building upon everything learned from the previous generations of multirole vehicles, the US and the USSR military strived for even better performance and capabilities, and they had access to new technologies that could give them exactly that. It was the 1980s when engineers worked on the Soviet Ka-50 and Mi-28, the Italian Mangusta, the South-African Rooivalk and, of course, the French-German Eurocopter Tiger.

The A-129 and G-Lynx have thermals and Hellfires at 10.3 where you dont face any scary SPAA except maybe the 2s6 and you can just avoid it with positioning or just target them. The Ka50 has no zoom, no thermals, the only good thing is the range but with no zoom you can barely see anybody because nobody renders in and the Ka50 is at 11.0 so it see uptiers to 12.0 regularly.

When will we see the very classified fire and forget Hellfires and maybe other hellfire variants ?
I wish they would fix the ones currently in game. Hellfires currently do almost no damage, and they don't even loft properly. They go up, then dive straight back down to hit them basically like a direct-fire atgm.

Hi Gajin I’m not new I’ve been playing for 3 years I’ve seen some ups and downs but definitely not all. And I feel it safe to call this one of my favorite games. But I can understand most players when we say that spawn campers are a pain to deal with, as I’m playing as I type this out so I propose this:
Some AI tanks, soldiers, AT guns, or even mines that kill spawn campers if they get to close and the others to kill spawn campers out far. This is also simple to implement because it only combines preexisting mechanics like airfield AA and SPGs and AI tanks from heli PvE
This is the only way I know to talk to you guys so please listen to this. Maybe pin if you feel that’s the best course of action. As I saw before constructive criticism is what y’all’s like from a video from Phlydaily.
Or just a "leave the area within x time" warning like in sim battles

Can't wait for the Tiger replacement. H145M is equipped with spike missiles. Which will be no good in my eyes. It's not like the H145M is a bad helicopter. It's just like the Bo105 but bad-looking. And less/different armament. And no protection against firearms. Of what I heard is correct you have to choose between either armament or protection because otherwise the helicopter is overweight 😂
Why are the mistral and SNEBs angled so high upwards? Half the time the mistals fly off the rail then lose their target
For SNEBS it’s because it makes it easier to aim at long distances. Same for the mistral, but that’s under the reasoning that it’s a highly maneuverable missile. However gaijin did not get the memo on that

If you are basing your game of realism then when the jets and helicopters are hit seriously all the systems should shut down completely, not be able to guide the laser guided bombs in when they're cartwheeling out of the sky. Or missiles as they're falling. When that engine shuts down then all systems shut down. Especially on the jet aircraft, there is no battery backup.
Theres a difference between realism and a full on simulation
I dont think you understand that war thunder isnt a simulator game, theres over 2000 vehicles and making all of them hyperrealistic is way too much work, we already got extra internal modules for some top tier tanks and that took multiple months for only a couple, because not only do REAL PEOPLE have to go out and somehow find all of this information but also somebody has to model all thhis stuff ( and war thunder doesnt need to become a 200gb game)

A few thing:
-The german Tigers are even more dedicated to anti-tank warfare than the others (it's an AT missile carrier). This is maybe the main reason why they want to change them now that the fear of a soviet "tank rush" is in the past.
-For the australian Tigers the choice was mainly a political choice for the alliance with the US, disguised as an objective decision (strangely, australians Tigers were the only ones to have some problems...)
-What ended for good the project of upgrade for the Tigers is the current conflict in Ukraine and the high losses of attack helicopters. Investing billions into upgrading a few Tigers while they seems to be relatively easy targets looked a bit risky... Especially when drones are the new answer against vehicles.
