I just can't get the board to jump for some reason. Any tips for that? (ps. my board is a tech deck with foam grip tape)

I cant pop the board up
What about your fingerboards in the store know when they will be back I just started and wanna learn with a wooden one !
My Brain: We can do this!
My Eyes: Lets DO THIS!
My Fingers: *Absolutely not.*
try hardr bro you can do it
Facts
It's a good hobby with my son. I got tech decks. Ordering foam tape, wheels, and trucks next week. He loves it. I'm starting too
FRRRR
me to sitting here for 2 h and still cant do it
After like 2 months of learning I have my Ollie’s down pretty well!! I have a tip for you to give beginners. PRACTICE ON A BED or something that has some natural bounce, hard surfaces are really hard to start out on. Also the leg roll trick really helps. Would’ve helped to have all in one video would’ve had it done in days lol.
Your comment deserves to be pinned
I've been struggling to do this trick for days and after doing it on my bed instead of my desk I did a small one after a minute of trying. I love you.
Dude thanks I’ll try to do it and reply to back again after I’m good at it
Yo dude im gonna subscribe to Mario Medina so that after sometime I’ll comment that I can do it
I love that i’ve found ollieing on a fingerboard harder than ollieing a skateboard, but treflipping a fingerboard definitely easier than treflipping a skateboard 😂
idk man i have skateboard treflips more consistent than fingerboard treflips
I did a kickflip first try after you said kick flips are more easy then a Ollie 😅😱
Anybody else spend five HOURS instead of minutes and still not getting it?😅😅😅😅
I can’t lift it up lol

Nope it took me a year I’ve been watching this for ages
*Gets inspired
*Gives up 10 mins later
Instructions unclear: my tech deck went into the void of my desk never to be seen again
How do you keep it in the air without putting any tape on it?
If you keep moving it fast enough it’ll start longer

SAAMEEE😢😢
The thing I don’t get is why does flicking it back and then pressing with the middle finger do anything? For me I just flick up and then down
BRO! YOU DON'T KNOW HOW HARD IT WAS TO EXPLAIN THIS BACK IN THE DAY TO MY BUDDIES! 😅😅 THIS VIDEO AND SLOW MO FOOTAGE IS THE BEST WAY TO EXPLAIN IT!!! 🤣🤣 #BRRR!!!💪💪
I still don’t understand how to get in the air
SAME
Very exact in time love it you’ve made me progress sooo much in fingerboarding with just my tech deck
Hi Gretchen I subscribe to you and I'm a big fan
For anyone who is wondering why it doesn’t work for them the you need to get both wheels off the ground. I’m struggling getting my back wheels up though
And how are you supposed to get he back wheels in the air
@@Keytro by moving ur fingers to the front of the board
Thx
Thanks that moving both fingers worked so well day 4 and ollieing consistently thank you so much you had tips i havent heard before !!
Thanks for responding to my comment I made on your custom grip tape texture video I can do an Ollie now :)
Hey dude this explains so much and the popsicle stick made my brain focus so much ❤❤❤
The slomo clips are really great ! That's a very good idea !
Thanks for to support🙌🫶
@@TheGripsion Thank YOU for the vids :)
Gfhg
Thank you so much I can do it now😊❤
I was wondering if your fingers are supposed to stay on the deck or glide off a little. Also i was having a lot of trouble getting the pop right so if you could do an in depth tutorial for that it would be greatly appreciated
I agree
I agree bro
If it glides off its technically an ollie north

Thanks for the video my Ollie is getting better and better
Btw what song is that in the back round
@EooleThanks
Okay im not going to give you all the credit of my ollie but you definitely get some of the credit was training pretty hard for weeks but just today I got it your techniques definitely helped thank you🎉
i learned how to ollie after playing around with fingerboards on and off for 10 years just from one tip from this video i never got anywhere else... slide both fingers not just ur pointer. you made my entire decade thank you so much
This was uploaded js last year…
@@D4vidMace lmfaoo i’m saying i’ve been trying to learn for that long and THEN found this video.
Thanks to you, I was able to make Ali well. Thank you so much. 😢😢
Mine sometimes looks like a rocket Ollie and my foam grip doesn’t grab my finger enough to really guide the deck. So frustrating. Lately I’m also doing more kickflip rotations when trying to ollie onto a book. Any ideas?
You could try doing it off a ledge and getting a little bit more of the motion, or you could go to a pillow or your couch and just not roll and do an ollie on the couch so you get some bounce and learn the motion of an ollie
@@eliassmith8853 You could also on ur leg just let the fingerboard just fall of ur leg into ur fingers and land back to get the motion.
i just did a ollie and i never felt prouder what i felt helpful was practicing on your leg to kind of help
I cant even get it in the air. when i try to pop it, the board just stays on the ground. should i hold it harder? softer?
I think the problem is just in our skateboards man
@@shortFYI Got pop-shoves and 180 kickflips and ollies a few months ago consistently, was using a tech deck.
I just landed my first clean one.im 50 years old loved skateboarding but can't any more.we made our own in the 80s with tongue depressors and match box car wheels and axels.couldnt do anything but we tried.im also a chef and this is helping my hand arthritis by working it.hard though.
Hey grip, I used your tutorial when I started fingerboarding and learned the ollie and kickflip. I love the detail you give and other tips, and was wondering if you could make a nollie tutorial? I can nollie, but only 10% of the time. Thanks!
i cant even ollie
@@finley1325 same
@@rayyansaqib00 LOL bought tech deck and can't even ollie which is so sad
I suck at this
Yeah I'd love a nollie tutorial they're so hard I'm doing consistent Ollie's now learning flips tried one nollie and it wasn't good
I struggled alot with ollies, you def have to put the time in, heres how it went:
Rule 1) dont use a tech dech. Get a cheap board like LC boards or P-rep as itll make things 30 times easier.
Don't put both fingers on the board at first, just hover the front one over the top and push the back of the board down with your rear finger, try and make it stand on end and then do a scooping forward motion, try and save the board from going fully over backwards with your front finger. Eventually youll be able to scoop it up and over until its upside down on your fingers then you can try it with both fingers on the board. Also to do a rolling ollie roll slowly, little to no speed is better. Dont roll back and then ollie thats bad habitsiz.
I mean I know how to Ollie, but ur vids are awesome!
same
I struggle because I am 8 and I only just know how to kick flip but thank you for the help I can do a small ollie
I just broke my arm from skateboarding but I literally cannot resist skateboarding so I just bought myself a real fingerboard and I’m gonna try to fingerboard for like a month😂
Tysm bro ive allways wanted to do an ollie and i done it youre the only one who explained it well
I have a cheapy cheapy board that has a sticker as a grip, but i can’t get my board off the table as hard a i try.
Thanks this helped so much😊
I just can't get the board to jump for some reason. Any tips for that? (ps. my board is a tech deck with foam grip tape)
keep practicing
mine too
I was wondering if you could do a tutorial on how to pop the board up. I feel like I'm doing everything right, but when I pop it it stays on the desk.
Kan you send a fingerboard ?
The "back and forth brain bug" is something that I have definitely so hard to fight, thanks for the little tip !

Got to get the grip right
Is it a coincidence I finished my ice cream as you mentioned the popsical stick?
Thanks so much this really helped
Thank you so much bro! This video helped me a lot :D
I haven't touched my fingerboard in a while... I have foam grip and the tape thing helped a lot... My favorite tip was practicing the power needed to get the nose wheels in the air and the tail down
brooo youre the only tut out of 10 that helped me
Thank u ,I’m making a lot of progress now!🎉
this is what i am watching on a Monday night
Possibly the greatest fingerboard video of all time
im struggling with doing an ollie and idk why my tech deck
doesnt really jump up

Are the back wheels supposed to rise up when you pop it.
Thx bro it helps me do ollie
I learned how to Ollie in two weeks, but for some reason I am not following the steps I just pop and I just like push my hand and I just got a really small Ollie and I just kept practicing and my Ollies started looking better and yeah that’s basically how I did it
thank you so muck i hesitate so much that i end up pushing as hard as i can when ever i trie to do it
helped LOTs thanks p.s if you're a watcher or learner try using shoes for you board first.
I’ve been having trouble trying to get my tech deck into the air. Can anyone give me any tips
thanks man the tip to try it fakie was a game changer suddenly it made sense I could do it rolling regular immediately after
i still cant find out how to pop up the board, but everything else was amazing, thank you
I’m having very trouble with doing the Ollie because how do you make it fly up by just pressing on one the edge and how do you slide your fingers while it’s in the air?
It’s just. HARD
How do you keep your fingers on your finger board?
Omg I did it. Thank you so much 🥰
thanks for helping me 😊
extra tip: do it quickly first. then slow it down a little and relax your fingers
Explaination was really good but I just can't manage to actually pop the fingerboard upwards, for me it just slides across the table. What am I doing wrong?
Nothing he just didn’t say how to even get the board off the table.
Omg thanks so much, the popsicle stick is really amazing, after that i can do ollies like a pro
i remember around 1986 building fingerboards out of hot wheels and cardboard -complete with grafix cut out of thrasher magazine!
I can already Ollie and i watched this shows im a big fan❤
It’s crazy how much faster you’ll get it down if you already know how to skate on a normal deck. It’s the same physics just scaled down.
Thanks
thaks bro now I learn ollie on finger board
I just got my tech deck yesterday and I'm trying to learn how to jump
How do I stop my board from flipping when I pop the board
thanks bro now i know how to ollie thank you so much
I can do it in 1 min, thank you bro now i can do ollie😁
This is a improved version of the old how to Ollie video lol
Kind of tempting when you can do stuff with 3 fingers on a fingerboard, but 2 fingers is very good habit to say you don't want to have your fingers too far over the board like this, because that's gonna make it poppy inconsistent and not very clean, same can be said for too far on this side. If you're trying to pop up for an Ollie, it's gonna just kind of spin out into a tech flip for the all the address man having your fingers.
I keep doing a strange manual instead of an Ollie. Any tips
Is the thumb being used to help pick up the board?
Jacob, 24
I got new decks for Christmas courtesy of my little brother, and I'd like to get back into it because I used to play with them at a casual level in my childhood. I also skate a little bit in real life and know that most techniques between the different sized boards if not all of them differ in a lot of ways, yet my fingers still match my feet 😅 any tips that will help work on my switch-up so to speak?
I started fingerboarding 1 week ago and I can do an shove it ,tre flip and ollie already
When I learn how to do it, I’ll subscribe
This help me a lot love ur vids
That fake Ollie recommendation was the final puzzle piece I needed to land it consistently without my fingers falling off 👍💯
Thus helped me alot
