The screws are M8 capped hex screws for anyone wondering. As a tip make sure whatever stand off mounts you order come with drywall anchors and screws that fit inside stand off mounts to go into the wall. The M8 screws might take a little bit of drilling out of the peg board to make them slightly wider because they are a tiny bit larger than the holes. hope this helps someone. I built the same thing :)
Great job. One suggestion is the hole you opened up for the larger cables I would get something to cover the sharp edges. I would also zip tie the cables to prevent them from too much movement as things heat and cool.
I was thinking the same thing, he didn't seem to notice the sharp edges could cut the wires, that could in turn cause the metal peg board to turn live/Hot so metal would need to have a good earthing also.
Came here to say this. Those jagged knife edges made me cringe when he ran the wire through. Seems like painting a wood (or MDF or whatever it is) pegboard might be a better way to go. Especially since most of it’s attached with Velcro anyway.
great vid, appreciate it! long-term after a few years now, what would you say are the downsides of this or what mods/adjustments have you made in the meantime that improved upon it? thanks!
the main mods I have done is turn it vertical instead of horizontal. Ive also added sections for V-Mount batteries and holders for Ronin batteries since I don't need the entire space to stand up the ronin.
So satisfying. Wish I worked in an agency that only does video. I work in real estate, so the budget doesn't have the flexibility to get something like this.
Oh gosh, that is so gorgeous. Definitely goals for our office. I love how sleek it looks and the battery buckets. Definitely got me thinking haha. I absolutely hate the mess of wires charging everything before a shoot.
Clean setup. I’d be worried about the batteries dropping faced that way. When I’m on the road shooting, I get the USB dual chargers for the gh5 batteries to save on space. Wasabi Power makes some. Then I plug 3 dual chargers into the wall and can let them charger overnight if needed and not play the game of waking up and changing batteries. They’re also nice on the run because you can have a 10000mah portable usb charger and can charge some batteries.
Okay, I bought everything you have here, but I am having a HECK of a time bending the metal to get the cables through. You just used a screwdriver and pair of pliers?
This is great. I’d love to do something like this, but built into a pretty cabinet or bookshelf so I can close the doors and not be looking at it all the time. Thanks for the idea!
Hey Caleb just wanted to know why you chose the ronin s over the crane 2? Reason I ask is because I avoided it due to the fact that the manfrotto plate doesnt fit on the ronin s. Just wanted to see your perspective on why you got the ronin s. Thanks
This stuff is so cool is have to say am neither one of what you suggested but I have many things that need charging and am sick of it setting on my desk or my dresser or my night stand. I like clean flat surfaces it just looks better. that peg board am going to mount behind my wall mounted tv to hold all of are video game consoles and controllers such good things my friend.
Great Video! I tried a similar thing myself but the glue on the velcro melted once the chargers heated up over night. Any tips to still make it work? Thanks.
Everything is in that one main link in the description. Also just updated the info in the description as the product is constantly changing from Amazon. Sorry for the confusion.
@@Whiteinrevery Bro, it hasn't been updated with the correct hardware. The screws you purchased to make it all work are still missing. we been to hardware store 3 x trying to make this work
It's beautiful! I was just talking about something like this because I keep adding more and more stuff and it's a mess of cables at this point. This was super helpful! Nice job too!
Great idea, been looking for solutions like this. I would have put the chargers the other way around though so the batteries slide in towards the ground instead of towards the ceiling. Just so gravity can help keep them seated.
Thought of that as well, but wanted to read the percentage indicators right side up. Also, after 2 years, I have never had 1 battery fall. So it locks in pretty good.
Neat. Bit concerned of cables being worm or cut with the sharp metal edges on the drilled/cut holes. Also Velcro is not a great idea, it tends to come off as the chargers (and the adhesive) get warm during use.
Our first batch of velcro came off within 24 hours. We updated our link to the new velcro we use and they have not come off ever. So get the high quality velcro and you will be set ;) Also, the metal edges don't dig into the cables for us but it is something people should be aware of.
unfortunately I don't. I just took the stand off mounts with me to Home Depot and tried them out until I found the right size. Sorry I forgot what it was.
Nice start! I would have mounted the camera and NP chargers so that gravity worked for you to hold batteries in place which would have not looked as nice aesthetically. Also a metal shelf between the charging levels could offer some protection from a cascade fire should you experience a battery failure.
Damn that's a beautiful sight! Just be careful none of the chargers or power strips get too hot. It happened with my PC cable management and the Velcro strips lost their adhesiveness. It might be worth securing any of the items that get a bit hot with something extra.
it actually happened to me and so I got better velcro that I linked in our kit that doesn't lose stickiness and fall anymore. learned the hard way and killed a charger to the ground. not because of heat though, because of battery weight.
I bit late for the party, I have a few suggestions in case someone else wants to build this: 1. Put the powerstrip in a way that you can reach the switch on it. 2. When you put cables through the perforated sheet, use rubber grommets to protect the cables (And it looks more professional) 3. ??? 4. Profit!
I tried the same setup, the NPF batteries are too heavy and cause the chargers to tear off the velcro... Also, do you have any suggestions for charging V mount Batteries?
mastercheif1989 I updated my link with the proper velcro that won’t allow those batteries to fall. For V mount, I’d probably just set it on the shelf instead of hanging because of the weight.
I just had an idea: If you hinged this setup to the wall so that it opened like double doors you’d have a much easier time changing or adding chargers to it. More of a modular set up and a good bit more user friendly. Other than some blocks and piano hinges, I’m not an engineer so it might take some trips to the hardware store to figure out how to make that happen, but I think it would make foe a nice combo of functionality and adaptability. 😎
Thats a nice idea. However, the goal is to never have to get to the chargers or add to it, Which is why its all tied up permanently behind the peg board. If I want to take the chargers with me, I just disconnect it and I have tons of those charger cables separately that I can just grab if I need to.
Incredible option for charging all your gear in one location! But what if you want to charge batteries in the field? That would be a nightmare to unscrew it from the wall, unplug all of your chargers, and then have to plug it all back in.
@@riseabovesoccer946 I went with M10 30mm bolts for the pegboard to the standoff mount. Then I had to shave down the sides of the heads on the hardware it came with to get them into the standoff mounts, to mount to the wall.

Be Very Careful-!!!, it a great Idea only make sure any Mains powered cables can't get striped by sharp edges or the peg board could become live, use rubber gromets, also earth/ground the peg board would also help make it safe.

I bought the screws updated on the link and I think they don't fit. LuckIns stand off 1/2 x 2 inch
I purchased M8 (40mm) capped hex screws but they seem to go right through the holes. Should I add a washer?
Great job. One suggestion is the hole you opened up for the larger cables I would get something to cover the sharp edges. I would also zip tie the cables to prevent them from too much movement as things heat and cool.

Might not be a good idea to close a cabinet full of electrical devices, could heat up and potentially ruin them or worse cause a fire
Looks cool. Would be a pain if you needed the chargers for traveling even with the velcro.

I like this a lot. I have xt4 and xt3 so the chargers are a little different but I think this could potentially work as well.
