There's that word again, "funky" when talking about Black Sabbath. You're right of course, they had a VERY strong groove, that's what made them special.
Girl you are hitting some of the greatest hidden gems sabbath has to offer.Everyone has heard of "Paranoid" but very few have heard these rare epic tracks from the God Fathers of all Metal.
This is exactly what l loved about sabbath, back in my youth, their musical journey within their greatest songs, where every turn was an ever more interesting avenue to travel down of a trip you never wanted to end, and she caught that! It was never a tired old return to a refrain of the same old same old, but just an extension beyond the norm, and their hooks, to die for! Way before anybody else's time!
Oh those Sabbath changes. One of their all timers that maybe doesn’t get the recognition it deserves, but hey, that’s quite the catalog they have too. Glad it effected you the same way it did me - 45 years ago. Cheers
I'm glad your turned on and into Sabbath, the beginning of metal, they gave birth to it on Friday the 13th 1970 in February with the release of their self titled album and song of the same name, triple Black Sabbath...even that had a satanic feel to it👹
This is my favorite Sabbath song for many of the reasons you listed. I think that this has always been considered fine but deep album cut and it is amazing for me to see it revisited by so many deep dive reaction vloggers. A lot of people do not realize that many Sabbath songs had some very empathetic things to say about control, where we put the power, and how we choose which paths to take.
it really warms my old heart to see you rock out to thise old songs and this track is one of my all time favorites with black sabbath i love the lyrics in the end that says just remember love is life and hate is living death coz that is so spot on take care scribe
This track at full volume really blows your mind. Been a Black Sabbath fan for a good while, and just recently heard this track. I was like "Wow! Ozzy sounds so good!" The whole band rocked too!
1st albums: Black Sabbath, Paranoid, Master of Reality, Vol 4, Sabbath Bloody Sabbath, & Sabotage. Later OZZY songs: Revelation, Diary of a Madman, Mr Crowley, & Perry Mason.-ENJOY!
Metallica did a cover of Sabbra Cadabra that starts out with Sabbra Cadabra then goes into National Acrobat and then back to Sabbra Cadabra. It's amazing. IMO
I think its fairly obvious that the song is sung from the point of view of an unborn child who "Destroyed the empty spaces" by filling up an empty womb [you destroy an empty space by filling it]. the child has gone through many reincarnations (I've lived a thousand times), as will all people (Don't believe the life you have will be the only one). the line (When little worlds collide I'm trapped inside my embryonic cell) means the 'collision' of the sperm and egg, at which point the soul forgets its past life (And flashing memories are cast into the never ending well). the lines (Curtain of the future falls, the secret stays unknown) simply mean that the soul forgets the previous life with each new life. the baby tells us that it is necessary to die so that we can move on to our next life (You have to let your body sleep to let your soul live on), and advises us at the very end of the song to love each other, to live our lives fully, and look forward to our next life. the song has excellent lyrics, really quite positive and inspirational, and even more impressive having come from a heavy metal band. 3:40 is where this song goes south for me. The first guitar melody was so good & smooth. It just pulls you in, & you zone out on it. I could listen to it all day. They should have kept it going throughout the whole song, but then they go & change it, & then change it again, & they lose me. It loses it's feel. You don't want a melody like that, that's so catchy & addictive, to end halfway through the song. It becomes two different songs in one. I hate when good songs go bad.
@@theforsaken4489 that s why i love them..they give you something brilliant but never for too much time..a common in many of their songs..black sabbath s music is a trip..
Decompose? I hope not.. just decompress...LOL :)) Great reaction...great song. Definitely some RATM influence in there. Keep up your wonderful work...Tom
This song is primarily about the sperm that didn't make the egg, but it ends with the notion that we're all re-incarnated. The closing lyric says it all, "Looking back I've lived and learned but now I'm wondering, here I wait and only guess what this NEXT LIFE will bring."
This song is for those who are at “ADVANCED LEVEL” Black Sabbath fan stage
True dat.
This song has been kicking ass for decades

Hey cool girl, I dig your review, that is one firkin' song, shows you have taste into one of the most talented bands out there! Keep rockin'!
I think its fairly obvious that the song is sung from the point of view
of an unborn child who "Destroyed the empty spaces" by filling up an
empty womb [you destroy an empty space by filling it].
the child has gone through many reincarnations (I've lived a thousand
times), as will all people (Don't believe the life you have will be the
only one).
the line (When little worlds collide I'm trapped inside my embryonic
cell) means the 'collision' of the sperm and egg, at which point the
soul forgets its past life (And flashing memories are cast into the
never ending well). the lines (Curtain of the future falls, the secret
stays unknown) simply mean that the soul forgets the previous life with
each new life.
the baby tells us that it is necessary to die so that we can move on to
our next life (You have to let your body sleep to let your soul live
on), and advises us at the very end of the song to love each other, to
live our lives fully, and look forward to our next life.

I agree the ending goes way too soft . It starts off heavy and groovy then they get to cliche rock sounding at the end
