Brilliant podcast. For picking the players, the rule could be:
The player has to be eligible for England however out of the current Senior EPS 25man squad/central contracts.
But that would pretty much take 25 players out of your 46 😅...

Yeah and someone like cokanasiga who moved here a 2 wouldn’t qualify. It’s easy if you moved here before you took GCSEs, I.e. not for rugby but just life decision so no ribbans etc. then you can play and you play for where you moved to. And drawing a line through the centre of birmingham and Norwich especially is ridiculous, people in northern Norwich or no folk at all are not northern and also wouldn’t want to be split up. There’s loads of regional rugby unions in England (about 30-40 of them) let’s make them take surveys for debate able midland counties and then they are deciding themselves

This would definitely be one way to get more people watching and also get more eyes on rugby from potential different viewing audience/demographic which may not linked to clubs. Could be branded Like The Hundred in cricket or Lions. Also like how both teamsheets competitive. Agree North coaches look very strong. Other South coaches in this hypothetical game to consider are Nick Easter, Nick Kennedy, Richard Cockerill (Coventry), Toby Booth, Martin Johnson (Solihull) , Dean Richards (Nuneaton). Play them at football grounds and once you win new fans and clubs are getting higher attendances hopefully off the back of this, then expand the grounds. As of right now only bath, Quins and maybe Gloucester could expand and fill a bigger ground every week.

Do not do it at Old Trafford as the stadium is now outdated, Newcastle or Leeds would be best.

100% has to be where you’re from not where you play. Steward from Norfolk playing for the north? No chance, and Farrell would play for the south 😂. No it’s where your from, that can be born or raised. If it’s debatable and you moved from London to Newcastle at 8 or 9 then let the individual choose. They can’t switch once chosen
