Hi Jim, Thanks for the word of encouragement. I just past 1 million people who have watched these videos and it is still growing. As for the trim cylinders, if you keep replacing the seals and they start leaking again in a year, any chance the shaft might have any damage on it that could be cutting into the seals?

    • @creativerepairing2960

Look at the top of the piston seals and see if any of them look oily. Fluid loss probably wouldn't show up on the ground.

thats the MUCH better fastrack system. just 2 pins instead of 6 seized screws to get the thing out. plus once its off you can replace the trim motor as they all go bad eventually.

I have a 2005 ETEC 50. We need to replace the O ring on the hydraulic tilt pump but we cannot get the PIN out to tilt the motor up and away to get at the O ring placement. The pin is threaded on the starboard side and we have attempted to slide hammer it out. We were warned that hammering on the pin on the Port side would cause it to mushroom and make things work. Any Ideas?

    • @ct1762

you don't need to take the pin out just to trim the motor up! unscrew the manual release on the port side 1/4 turn or so, and lift the motor up. put a block under it to keep it up, or use the trailer lock. then complete your work.

I got the seal kit off ebay. The tool also came from ebay but was a used OEM tool. Try searching the internet for "spanner wrench" and you will see some options. If you have a freshwater engine some of the cheap universal spanner tools will likely work. My engine is a lower saltwater use and the top came off the cylinder very easy.

I don't agree with mixing instructional videos with religious beliefs. It's definitely poor form. I'm sure the Christians would comment about a mechanical video that had a Satanic commercial in the middle. Maybe you should place it at the end so that you don't offend people that are looking for help with there motor. Just start a Christian channel and help people without Jesus, I think he would agree.

Can't you christians do anything without preaching the gospel..??
It's a shame, because the "How to/repair" part is actually quite good.
But since you ask "Are you a good person?", here is a little hint for you when asking your self the same question.
A good person does not constantly try to push their beliefs onto others...
So are you a good person when you can't even do a simple repair video witout pushing your gospel and implying that christians are better persons than non christians..?
Religion is like a penis. It's nice to have one and fine to be proud of.
But if you whip it out in public or try to trick people to think it's something else to get it down their throat, then it's not a nice thing you should be proud of anymore.
I'm quite sure you would understand this peoblem perfectly yourself too, if people of other religions or atheists a.s.o. tried to push their beliefs/lack of beliefs down your throat and tried to convert you in every non related situation, and talked to you like they were inferiar to you because you don't have the same beliefs as them, woud you not..?
Pluss the reality of the matter is that this way of talking to people have zero to non chanse of converting anybody to your beliefs either.
All it will do is give you a halleluja fron the other people who belive the same thing as you allready, so if you kept this gospel preacing to your self and in that cirkle and in this pure form instead of sticking it into everything else and pushing it on everyone else, you would achive the exact same thing and get the exsact same result, only witout insulting and talking down to everyone else.
So your church, your congregation, og yust dedicated videoes here on youtube would be a great place for that, just say'n..
I can't imagine you have to be rude and desiteful to other people of other faith to be a good christian..
But if you do it's not a good religion is it..??
At least you could put a warning in the title of the video so the people who just want to see a repair video could choose to scroll past to a video without the gospel pushing..
People who are interested and curious about it can and will seek it up themselves, because it's not like anybody you have the possibility to reach here never have heard about christianity anyway, it's not a state seceret you know.
    Peace
