Damn! When there are no clouds hovering above Ireland, the whole world is in trouble. Alex is hilarious. That frozen turtle had me in stitches. Be well guys.
For all those saying the 'Irish don't know what hot is,' keep in mind that in the US, most 'hot' climates have air conditioning in a lot of their homes, businesses, etc. and/or ceiling fans, etc. Homes designed to be cool. Ireland isn't built that way - they usually do NOT have AC, fans, screens in their windows, etc. And the humidity is high. And yes, I grew up where it was very hot and humid (Miami).
Well then swallow your pride spend a couple hundred Euros and get a window unit for those rare occasions. Problem solvers get sh!t done, while whiny little _itches vent and do nothing about it.
90% of Americans in the US have air conditioning. 10% of Europeans do. Texas was 103f the other day with stupid high humidity. My area of Northern Virginia was 92f today and we're a costal state too, so it was very humid. I stayed inside for the air conditioning for the most part. Otherwise, I go to the pool.😊
Yes, I experienced the same in Paris once about 25 years ago. I have lived in the desert and I roasted in Paris one summer as the place I stayed at had no A/C and the temp went to 40.
103F and 95%humidity,in the shade no less,in deepest darkest south Abalama last week for 3 days running.. This week's been mild with only 96f and 92%humidity on the daily, every Dayish except when it hits 98F and higher humidity a few days..
Since I'm very lousy at converting Celsius into Fahrenheit, and vice-versa, here in Louisiana (USA) it's already been 100+ degrees F this year and with the high humidity the heat index has been 110+. Usually when people complain about the heat, we tell them just wait until August. Now we're fretting how it's going to be then.
I can’t believe Fahrenheit is still a thing, there’s like a handful of countries who (a understand it and (b still use it… 32 is freezing point ? Whiiiit ?
My Irish grandmother lived with us since I was 3. We had to have air conditioning on all the time in the summer because my grandmother could not handle the heat. We lived on Long Island NY where the summer temperatures would be in the 90s with a real feel of 100+. She would tell me stories of going to the swimming holes in Ireland once it hit 80 and how no one was able to handle the heat. I completely understand you when you say “Irish, not use to it.”
Humidity makes everything worse! I’m also convinced humidity in Ireland is different/closer than humidity in America. I remember when I lived in Ireland for a few months that 5° was absolutely freezing (and I live in Michigan where -10° happens regularly in winter), and it was like it was just clinging to me and sinking through my layers of sleeves-the air being close is the best way to describe it.
I feel ya Clare. I don't do well above temperatures above 25 degrees Celsius. We get wicked heat and humidity here in Southern Ontario. Today will be 30 degrees plus humidity. So it will feel like 40. SO ick I'm glad for air conditioners :) Drink lots of icy water..
Welp,as an American of Irish and Scottish descent way back in the day,it was 103f in the shade here a couple days ago with 93% humidity, and not a single breath of wind to be found... And that was the 2nd day of the same here in deepest, darkest south Abalama... Not even a coastal breeze was coming up... So yeah,we do know a little bit about high humidtemps... The next 2 weeks are humid and only mid 90s with heat index of 105 to 109f...
Me and my mom (from Indiana) were in Ireland from May 25th - June 9th. We had full sun, no clouds or rain the whole time we were there. Cooler at night. But high 60s to low 80 degrees every day. I came home with a sunburn from Ireland. Who does that? Lol No lie I didn't want to go home. The company we work for has a plant in Castelbar, which we were able to visit as well. We loved every minute of our trip. I love your content.
Glad to watch the vlog update, Clare. Really dig the cultural videos, but enjoy a life update you care to share. 23 September starts autumn (76 days) so don't have to bear it too long. Summer isn't my favourite season.
Yay.. There you are!! A wee bundle of joy that is admirable. and funny. I watch all of your posts and I do have to let Alex know that he is making us men proud. After all, you are a tiny bundle of energy😂
Yeah Alex and Millie. Always enjoy seeing them but I come here to see and listen to you. Thank you for the brain giggles. Congratulations on your anniversary and happy birthday young lady.
Over here in the west US it's pretty usual to get to 35-40 C from June through September. Luckily it's dry here so we can run a swamp cooler and get by. Humidity is a real killer.
As a Canadian anything over 20c is too hot for me. Which it frequently gets to 28 here. 2 years back we had 37 here, and an insane 49 in one town. Oh and Alex putting the mascot in the freezer had me laughing. :)
I feel for you , Clare ! At least you're making the best of it ! And may i add : A very Happy ( late ) Birthday to you and your sister ! I hope your day ( s ) were awesome ! 🎂🎁🥳🎈🎉🍰🕯️🕯️🕯️
I was born and lived in western New York for 9 years, and have lived in Arizona since. I've experienced pudding thick humidity and 122° heat and both suck for different reasons. It is all relative and when you aren't used to it, it's even worse. I don't envy you even as I enjoy a day of 108°. And, I'd take it over snow any day. 😅
In the southeast and south going up the center of the US, we do know from humidity 75, 85,90% humidity in the morning with the temperatures somewhere between 35 and 40 Celsius going up as the day progresses. But you are right also because it’s the amount of change from your normal that makes you feel it more.
I live in the south sweetie. And it has never been this hot, for this long here either. It won't relent. Just really happy to see you're out there enjoying and seeing everything you can regardless 😀

We are one Celtic People after all!!! ;-) :-) ) And, no matter where we go in this beautiful world of ours, we Irish are the first ones sweating and getting sunburned!!! Ha!! You and Alex are quintessentially Irish! Your slaggin' , antics , and humour coupled with the scenarios in which you find yourselves (e.g., finding Alex at the pub watching rugby, freezing mascots in water, waving to ignorant, "RUDE" (Ha!), tourists...who don't recognize a courtesy (giving way on our narrow roads) nor do they properly respond to a kind and acknowledging wave (by not waving back!) !! Your chuckle at the end was so telling and so IRISH!!!!! Ha! I enjoyed seeing the concoction you indulged in on your birthday! Sugar high anyone??!! Ha! Spooney's! !! Your teasin' the fates at the Cliff's edge was PERFECT!!! HILARIOUS! !! So IRISH of ya'!!! " Let's stop talking about it!" Absolutely Brilliant!!!!! Might you and Alex ever add a video of yourselves attending a Hurling competition??!! I do not recall your having shared one yet. Pardon me if you already have!!! Congratulations ( Comhghairdeas!) on your wins at the cup competitions!! Alex's plate win and your first place! Ireland's Call was ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!!!!! GRMMA!!!!
Happy Belated Birthday and 5th Anniversary to you and Alex! I'm glad you're having fun together this summer. It gets hot and humid here in the Midwest US. I have the darker skin and hair that comes with Italian ancestry and I have a tough time coping when it gets super hot; I can't imagine how uncomfortable it is for a fair skinned, red headed Irish woman. Oh, and we do the driver wave thing here in the Midwest.
Happy Birthday!!! Many hot places in the US are hot but low humidity. Those along the coasts will agree with you that the humidity makes a big difference in how hot it feels. I'm with you on not getting too close to the cliff edge. It's not all heights I have a problem with, just unprotected heights! LOL!
Hey there, Ms Clare. First, Yay Millie! Haven't seen her in an age. Alex's prank with the mascot was fab, absolutely legendary. I get that the temps had been unusually high for Ireland, but I had to laugh that the bulk of the time that you were complaining about how hot it has been, you were wearing a sweatshirt over a t-shirt. 🙃 I have been loving the "cultural" videos of late, but it was nice to get an update vlog. Happy belated B-days to you and Alex, as well as a happy belated Anniversary. Glad to see you're all doing quite well. Sláinte! ~Be Blessed
Happy Anniversary. Happy Birthday. Congratulations on all your wins and condolences for all your defeats. During the summer in Toronto, the weather report includes the Humidex Index. The index indicates how much the humidity affects the temperature (more humidity feel and act as if it's hotter).
You crack me up!! We've actually had a few cool days and lots of storms in NE Oklahoma this week. It'll be brutal heat and humidity again next week lol. I had a guy from central Colorado tell me that we don't really walk in Oklahoma, it's swimming and breathing soup
My family and I went to Ireland for the first time this year. We were there the first week of June and it was in the 20's everyday and no rain. It was absolutely beautiful but I completely understand now what you mean about the heat. Going inside any building without AC in it was miserable. The pubs were so hot with everyone packed inside. We only had one hotel in Dublin that had AC in it and then we were freezing. Regardless it was such an amazing trip that my husband and I were talking about moving!!!! Love the videos and hope July will be a bit cooler for ya!! 💚🧡
Our apartment in Canada doesn't have air con so we have a portable unit, but I actually run the dehumidifier more than the actual cool air fan because it makes a much bigger difference when it's 65% humidity or higher. The humidity does make warmer temperatures much more exhausting, even if it's just in the 20's. Humidity is like a damp dog sitting on your shoulders all day. So gross!
I'm in the American south ( NC) and they are calling for 32-35 C for the next 10ish days. Luckily the humidity will only be around 60%, which is bearable. We have days in a row that range from 70-90% though, and youre right, the humidity makes it unbearable.
Glad you liked Lahinch, we have a house there back a bit in SummerCove. Hope you got an ice cream from our friend O'Conners. We were there in May / June and will agree it was "close". You should start a shop that sells fans. Window fans, Ceiling fans.... you could be set for life. Just hope you never have to install Central Air Conitioning and start paying the ESB bill on that.
Here in Northwestern Ohio, we’ve actually had a somewhat mild summer. Today, it’s 84 right now, or 30 on the Celsius scale. I do have the AC on now, because the sun is out in full force. But, it’s not running constantly. And, the nights have been quite pleasant.
I just converted 16 celsius to Fahrenheit & its only 60 degrees 😂😂😂 that’s actually kinda chilly for me but I am a southern American. I would definitely need a light jacket. I wonder do you guys ever get beach weather? I definitely plan on visiting Ireland next year, definitely on bucket list! Love the food & culture 💚 Hope you enjoy your day & try to stay kool 😂💚💚💚
Happy Belated Birthday Clare! I didn’t think about the humidity in Ireland but now that you mention it, I believe you that’s it’s sweltering. 🫠 So much laughter from you! Love love love it!
*chuckle* Texan coming in, our day starts at 26°C with 82% humidity and we got to 38°C with 58% humidity so really "close" and similar to Dublin humidity wise but feels like 44°C . That said I'm headed to Dublin again on the 27th and realize y'all aren't equipped for the heat like we are with a/c everywhere, but so looking forward to getting out of the heat. LOVE your content on here and Irish Try, keep up the great work!
It's been 34 degrees Celsius here in Massachusetts with 90% humidity. I understand all to well. Especially because I am Canadian. To hot and muggy. Stay Cool Claire 😎
Happened to me once. I rolled into Shannon then Galway expecting pleasant Temps with couple of days of lashing rain, as always. It was around 29/30, and I was in jeans and sweaters, etc. They said "oh, just go yo Penneys, buy some shorts". But I realized I'd brought no shoes that would go with shorts, bc I didn't want to overpack 😅. Thankfully, it lasted 2-3 days
In Ireland when it's hot and humid it's a different heat. No bother when in Spain in a heat wave but Christ in ireland when the sun decides to make a proper appearance is unreal. Can't eat can't sleep in Ireland when we get our few weeks of summer 😁
28.8 in your degrees would be cooler than my night time lows. It is typically over 100 everyday and yes...the humidity is high. No big deal! This is my favorite time of the year. You just need to be escorted into a nice cool and dark bar for free drinks until the temp doesn't even matter anymore to you.......or even what year it is.
Happy bday, anniversary, happy bday Alex! The beginning let me relive the Fadder Mike tour of County Clare, thanks! (Been a while, before that famous January storm hit Lehinch). Im in a colonial City on the coast that has, due to street parking/no driveways, many narrow one lane streets but two-way traffic. Locally, we do the wave to each other all the time when somebody actually obeys the rules about giving way. I think of you every time I do it 😅
OMG you had me in stitches! Celebrating my birthday as I watch this. Thank you for the laughs. Happy Birthday! Happy Anniversary! How did the poor turtle fair afterward?
There were times in my life when I would've eaten that pizza. I can't remember where I left my keys 2 goddamn minutes ago but somehow I remember those times.
I know you must be suffering in the heat without air conditioning. Today we were able to turn ours off and open the windows because it was only 80°F (27°C). But it is going back up to 90°F (32°C) tomorrow. Put your frozen mascot in front of a fan and it will be as good as air conditioning (almost).
"Ever" and "on record" are two very different things. Where I live in New Zealand it can reach mid 30's+ in the summer and it's awful when outside. As I've always said - You can put more and more clothes on to keep warm in the winter but there comes a point where you can't take anything more off in the summer to cool down. Give me cold anytime.
Hot is relative...When I grew up in Arizona I experienced 50° C while training for a bicycle race. I moved to an area north of Seattle and now 28°C makes me run inside and hide. 5 years old, barefoot on hot sidewalks, 70 years old Hoka in the summer. Be well kids.
As a current resident of New Orleans who grew up in Nebraska you have to realize it's relative. I know people down here who can't hardly deal with the cold. It took me a a few years to adapt to the heat and that was living in Coastal Carolina before I moved here.
Belated happy birthday, Clare! The average world temperature hit a new high a few days ago, at 17.23 degrees Celsius. That may not seem hot, but remember it includes the southern hemisphere, which is in winter now, and also includes nighttime temperatures. In the meantime, it's been cooler than average this year in the San Francisco Bay Area. As I write this, at 2:15 pm on July 9, it's 68 F/20 C in El Cerrito, where I live.
Central Illinois here. we've mostly been between 26 and 32C here, which is on the high side of normal. But we've also been very dry, which isn't normal. What rain we've gotten is been very weak spurts or some serious storms. The last one of those was a derecho that also spun off a couple tornados. Took a week for some areas to get power back on. And what crops had survived the drought got flattened by high winds. But climate change isn't real. /s
Clisare, sorry you temps are so high, imagine if the Irish sea was 32 to 33 C that is the water temp off the coast of Florida right now. You can't even go into the water to cool off. Love your Videos keep up the good work.
I have to be the typical American. Last year we had 24 days over ~39°C in Oklahoma. Yes, we have AC and all, but as a cop, I'm outside a lot with body armor on. I would have loved your weather. The wife and I are taking our first trip to Ireland shortly. Looked up the weather and was shocked at the expected cool temps. Love your video. Sorry for being too stereotypical, but the leopard can't change his spots.
Don't feel too bad about melting the tray in the oven. When I was 30 (!!), I accidentally left a pan in the oven and put it on self clean. The firefighters all had a good laugh at my expense.

As a fair hair fair skinned Scotsman, I feel your pain… there was 2 and a half weeks there in June I didn’t want to get out of a cold shower !
Ah. So this makes more sense why I cannot handle heat! Maybe it's my Irish decent! Lol
So gross!
@clisare I have a way for Ireland to cool off and reduce the humidity... plant trees everywhere. Ireland needs more trees.
I hear ya on the feels like aspect - in my part of Texas we tend to have more dry heat but it's been super humid with feels like at 45 to 46.
I want to visit Ireland so bad it looks so fun and beautiful
I'm in the American south ( NC) and they are calling for 32-35 C for the next 10ish days. Luckily the humidity will only be around 60%, which is bearable. We have days in a row that range from 70-90% though, and youre right, the humidity makes it unbearable.
Love ya Clare!
That was fun 😊
A little sunshine ever kill anyone so enjoy the sunshine
You Are Lucky Alex Didn't Make Turtle Soup ! Love You Guys !
So much laughter from you!
Love you, girl, you make my day with these videos❤
Moved from Limerick to Wisconsin. It's been over 35 here and 98% humidity...more than once this summer. Just a nightmare.
42 degrees here in Austin, Texas. Though, it sounds more fierce in Fahrenheit.
I came from the south of Brazil and can say that it's absolutely hot in Ireland this summer. I was promised rain and no sun 🥲
That’s hot for Ireland! Our heat index today was 40.3 (translating from our archaic Fahrenheit). The actual temperature was 34. Good times.
28.8 in your degrees would be cooler than my night time lows. It is typically over 100 everyday and yes...the humidity is high. No big deal! This is my favorite time of the year. You just need to be escorted into a nice cool and dark bar for free drinks until the temp doesn't even matter anymore to you.......or even what year it is.
where I live in Texas it gets up to 120F during the summer
Happy bday, anniversary, happy bday Alex!
The beginning let me relive the Fadder Mike tour of County Clare, thanks! (Been a while, before that famous January storm hit Lehinch).
Im in a colonial City on the coast that has, due to street parking/no driveways, many narrow one lane streets but two-way traffic. Locally, we do the wave to each other all the time when somebody actually obeys the rules about giving way. I think of you every time I do it 😅
It was 102 in my backyard yesterday... Fahrenheit, but very fkg hot 🥵🔥
OMG you had me in stitches! Celebrating my birthday as I watch this. Thank you for the laughs. Happy Birthday! Happy Anniversary! How did the poor turtle fair afterward?
She dried out and grand and was delivered to her rightful minder
There were times in my life when I would've eaten that pizza. I can't remember where I left my keys 2 goddamn minutes ago but somehow I remember those times.
Temps above 30 celsius here in north Idaho. It must be horrible hot in the southwest.
That's amazing 🤩
I know you must be suffering in the heat without air conditioning. Today we were able to turn ours off and open the windows because it was only 80°F (27°C). But it is going back up to 90°F (32°C) tomorrow. Put your frozen mascot in front of a fan and it will be as good as air conditioning (almost).
That sounds beautiful, you are so blessed. Please stay safe. Btw we had a temperature well over 45°C😂😂 💜💜🇮🇪🇮🇪💜💜
40 plus 50% humidity here in Texas
"Ever" and "on record" are two very different things. Where I live in New Zealand it can reach mid 30's+ in the summer and it's awful when outside. As I've always said - You can put more and more clothes on to keep warm in the winter but there comes a point where you can't take anything more off in the summer to cool down. Give me cold anytime.
Your vlogs never fail to brighten my day 😂
happy anniversary guys
Go Cart racing???? Garfunkel and Oates has a song for that!!! Check it out!!! Happy Birthday Clisare and many more!!!
come down to CFL east coast near coca beach feel like was 108f
Watched all the way to the end, brilliant,🎉🎉🎉🎉
I love that you're doing the hottest summer in Ireland vlog in a jumper.... Lol
Haha fair 😂 inside the house in the morning is much cooler than the evenings playing sport!
It's been 115° for 2 weeks now where I live in AZ. Did you say 17c was hot? 🤦♀️😂😂🤦♀️It's 46c here. That average is bs lol
Most Americans say that 28°C (84°F) isn't hot and then click on the A/C to 22°C (72°F).
We were just in Ireland a week ago. Yes it was warm. But my wife has gone home before me to temps of 42°C So…
You are a lucky Girl ! Now in Vienna: 36°C and 52% Humidity. 😰
Clisare, sorry you temps are so high, imagine if the Irish sea was 32 to 33 C that is the water temp off the coast of Florida right now. You can't even go into the water to cool off. Love your Videos keep up the good work.
Happy Anniversary 😊
I'll send you some of our Texas heat. We've experienced over 2 weeks straight of 100+ temps...brutal for this early in the year.
just vlogging, yeah? lol your husband is the man
I have to be the typical American.
