Today is the Fourth Sunday in Ordinary Time. “What is this? A new teaching with authority,”
said the people in today’s Gospel. They said this after seeing Jesus liberate a man from an
unclean spirit.
During their time, there were many “healers,” but none had the same power as Jesus. Why?
Because his healing was connected to his preaching. It was his Word that made the unclean spirit tremble and leave the man.
