The Cavaquinho is way smaller and higher in tone, and has 4 metal strings. a Vihuela like on a Mariachi band has 5 nylon strings, tuned 1 octave above a Guitar.
@@ZvikaDror I don't like too. I borrowed a mandolin and returned it the same day because I hated the steel string sound. Just doesn't work on a small, rather flat bodied instrument for me. Cavaquinho seem similar.
Cava looks similar to those tiny guitars in mariachi bands. I'd really like to play one one day.
