Actually Kiril and Metodius did not create the Cyrillic alphabet and that is a wide spread misconception.
The creation of the Cyrillic alphabet is attributed to Tsar Boris I of the First Bulgarian Empire, and the disciples of Kiril and Methodius, namely St Naum Preslavski and St. Climent Ohridski.
