I really appreciate that Shimano is providing raw clips of the pro peloton, free of music. We rarely get to see pro racing from this angle. Very exciting.

This is incredible, its like downhill skiing! Thanks Shimano for the footage and hopefully starting a revolution.

Got to love over 55 mph in a 25 zone on a road-bike! So much fantastic fun! What a great video for those that don't ride and want a true perspective of what an adrenaline rush it can be.

Amazing footage. Really highlights their immense bike handling skills, and you actually get a perception of how fast it really is. Also you get an idea of what it must be like if you crash at that speed. You wouldnt stop sliding/burning for a very long time.

Two big envious thumbs up for descending that route while using both lanes!

These cameras should be incorporated into every bike race.

and switched to during live feed. The old guys who run UCI are so dumb. So old fashioned. Theyd have so many more viewers and people buying bikes if they cut out the old shit required every GC contender and at least 2 others in each team to use go pros.

If you have the road to yourself, no vehicles in all lanes, no incoming traffic, then descending in 55mph is a piece of cake.

wow. you must be a really talented and experienced cyclist. wow.

That and the course is checked prior for potential hazards like road furniture, rocks, sand and other debris. The only thing left is the fear of speed. With experience, that won't be an issue. Not even the fear of DEATH... ;o)

    • @braggyg2
      @braggyg2 10 лет назад +8

Jon Johnson, Laws of physics suggest that an object rolls faster downhill.
Any cyclist can ride at a speed of 55mph or more DOWNHILL given at a controlled environment. No cars, no traffic on both lanes and directions, no debris, no obstacle, etc.. plus aerodynamics will play a huge role as well. In the case of a peloton or a group ride, they also go faster due to wind drafting, these factors allows a cyclist to reach a speed of 55mph or more on a descent.
If you watched the video the road is wide. They have 2 lanes to use when maneuvering, they can create a wide line when cornering, and they feel confident to ride faster because there are no cars in front of them or traffic on the other direction.

Love it. Any news on whether other teams are going to give this a go? It would be good if the same device had a camera at each end so the editor could switch between front and rear views.

OK, AND MAYBE, TRY TWO CAMERA FOR ONE BIKE.
I BELIEVE + GR 300 FOR THE BIKE TO GO WELL,
WHY THE WEIGHT NOW ALMOST ALL THIN SUPER BIKE THAT HAVE APPROXIMATELY 6,500 GR,
AND THEN PUT THE LEAD TO WEIGH TO REACH 6,800 GR "SPORT UCI regulations"
AND THEN THE OTHER HAND CAN PUT TWO VIDEOCAMEWRA FOR A BIKE, TAKE THE LEAD.
AND THEN ASK THE SPEED OF OVERLAP AND THE VIDEO BACK. AS I HAVE DONE VERY SIMPLE ENOUGH TO ASK AN EXPERT VIDEO EDITING OF SHIMANORaceTV.,
AND THEN YOU WILL SEE, COME THE VISITORS TO THE WORLD RECORD BOOOOOOOMM

Interesting to watch the bike dynamics in the change of direction at 1.54. He steers to take the bike off balance and then steers the opposite way to catch it again as the bike moves through desired angle in the opposite lean. It looks quite out of control during the maneuver but obviously isn't.

Its awsome downhilling at those speeds but it isnt good when a simple little stone can make you spin out and grase your skin as you slide 20 meters and get scared from it plus the worst part of it is alot of countryside areas mostly the isolated areas may not have a hospital for 20 to 30 miles I know this as it happened to me so it is important to always carry a first aid kit as even the most experienced cycling champions even can get caught out and the very most important peace of equipment to wear is a helmet even if it may makes you look stupid or not it could save your life
