It says on the tube not to swallow toothpaste. Triclosan is an active ingredient in some toothpaste and is know to cause cancer. Look to see if it's in the toothpaste you use just to be on the safe side :-) Peace

Regular household toothpastes also contain fluoride which can cause internal bleeding when swallowed in excess. All the toothpastes used on the space station however are 100% edible like children’s toothpaste

I remember, 10 years ago, when I first watched these videos. I was a sophomore in High School and it was late nights and I was up watching a lot of ISS videos. Mr.Hadfield comes up everytime I think about space exploration. we need to start thinking about deep space soon. and exploring it.

At the minute 1.35 when is brushing he’s teeth on fast forward, the floating object has the same speed as before. How come? CGI
@@menutu80 it didn't though, it's slightly faster because it had already slowed down from air resistance and then the video was sped up so it appears at a similar velocity from before (if noticeably faster) but obviously isn't. I get you clowns have to really scrape the bottom of the barrel to come up with arguments for something Greek philosophers debunked back in the 3rd century BC but this is beyond comedically stupid.

Why does the bag of water “float” by behind him at a normal rate when he’s speeded up?
The bag is speeding up as if it being sucked toward the airlock. When it starts to rotate you can also see that it starts to slow down when the video goes back to normal speed.
They messed up the overlay in editing.

Nope it wont. The GI tract is continuously contracting and relaxing in a wave like motion called peristalsis. Actually when you swallow food, gravity does not push it down. Your food pipe squeezes to push the food down. If it didn't, there'd be food in your food pipe hours after you ate.
Toothpaste is completely harmless in small amounts. What people are saying is just don't eat the whole tube. It's not a minty-gooey snack.

The objects in front could be CGI, could be on fishing strings could be other film tricks, could even be in space and some classified technological piece was in the background explaining why a green screen would be necessary. However, none of these points you bring up explain why only the astronaut was fast forwarded which is the only point I originally made.
