Man your boat yard is looking like my Tractor Yard. I just don't have to worry about my Tractors Sinking LOL. The Trim around the windows really looks great.
That MDF is called 'hardboard' here in UK, and it's the last product one would put in a marine environment, as it will absorb moisture, swell up and finally disintegrate.
That material with the pattern on one side is also called Masonite. But yes, as a "glued together sawdust" product, the basic form is very poor in marine environments.
@@bythelee He would have been better going to a window manufacturer and buying PVC trim strip, which would also have the advantage of not needing to be painted.
i really would recommend completely covering the roof on the barge boat in bifacial 400+ watt solar panels and do some over paneling on it. this will help with wintertime solar.
Window/ Door jam foam expands less. Doesn't distort framing. PVC molding might be a choice instead of the Masonite(MDF) for trim work. No rot issue and paintable.Just a thought.
Didnt you have a watercooled diesel generator? Connect the cooling circuit to radiators , waterheater, fanradiators , to use the excess heat else getting cooled out
i am also looking for a realitve small watercooled generator, to connect to my central floor heating, and my 20kwh battery bank. that is really a good idea.
I rarely comment, yet, I have subbed since around 45k and am enjoying your thought process with what equipment you have. This barge is going to be large !
Also try not to use those small foldable solar panels. Try by bigger wattage aluminum frame panels. Then you will get better power generation. Get at least 6 x460 watts
So you now have a "fleet" of boats. Captain is in charge of a boat, but you need a promotion to be able to control a fleet, there for you are promote to Admiral of the fleet.
Hi, just wondering; are the outside walls just sheet metal? If so, are you gonna add a thing wall in front with insulation in between? Seems like just a wall of sheet metal means it will get very cold inside during winter, even with pellet stoves.
Germany has very strict regulation on height of devices, so any common "home" wind turbine (I'm thinking 400W to 1.5kW) probably won't be allowed. BUT. There are smaller turbines mostly used on ocean-going yachts. They don't generate a lot of power (30W?), and are almost always low voltage (12 or 24 volts). But a bank of six of them (or however many you can fit / afford) should give a useful boost for charging batteries, even if that's only to provide LED lighting. They work 24/7, not just in daylight, and they won't require any fuel. Getting them to integrate with solar charging seems to be the impossibly difficult task, though.
😱 MDF is more or less cheaply produced crap 👎and definitely not suited for boats/floating devices. MDF is made from as cheap as possible wood fibres and glued together with chemicals! Therefore MDF smells, soaks water, can rot/mould easily and the sawdust is quite unhealthy! Not much structural integrity additionally = product breaks easily. Nowadays MDF unfortunately gets used more often simply because of the fact, that solid wood and better/good wood products have become way too expensive. And this although millions of coniferous trees have died in the last 10 years and are still standing dead all around Europe = have not been harvested. Best regards, luck, wisdom and health in particular.
Those mdf plates are real goed stuff i used them twice for bike trailer just paint en seal them good and now 4 years later the plates look just the same and the bike trailer was outside without any cover for those 4 years so it does work
@@kobetalboom8934 So you needed to put on even more chemicals to make MDF usable?! Additionally you had to put in a lot of work/time! And that's what you call a good product??? 👎 By the way: If anything penetrates respectively harms the protective layers you put on = please see what I wrote in my main comment. Best regards, luck, wisdom and health.
He’s way too industrious for them to rot away. Also, Europe has a lot of laws around wood and boards so mdf is what they have in their home improvement stores
Just admit to yourself that you have become a very competent Shipwright, so you don't have to feel cheeky about acquiring boats as that is your profession now 😊
Good jib and all, not trying to be an asshole, but screwing straight into end grain doesn't have any real holding power. Better to drill for dowel and use wood glue...
Another boat? You seem more like holder than off grid boat living. What's the function off all the boats, it's just 2 off you? Or you just board and like to waste Money on scrappy boats.

Im dead 🤣🤣🤣

There is a light color one and a dark color one with oil inside for wet place and outside use!
Hardboard aka press ply . Horrible
You're doing extremely well with the boat. It is looking more beautiful with each episode. Thank you for the update!
The little, short wood blocks are called 'noggins' 😊
Nice goin m8, its comin along really well. Glad you survived you winter. Keep up the good work and stay vertical Eh!
Howcome they allow you to have a floating village in the river?

That’s a boatload of work you got there.😁

Any type of moisture on mdf and it will start to fall apart
Hi!
What happened with that old tug that you bought one year or so ago? She was a pretty lady.
Keep on working hard!
💪
Are you sure you want the head right next to the galley?

The PUR foam is also bad on board because of the large cell structure they will cause condensation inside the cells. Always use PU foam.
Tell creality they just made a sale with that ad placement. You're demonstration of the falcon was enough to convince me to buy one.
Ooo nice to see Masonit (not mdf) a swedish produkt from the 1920’t there is a nice version for outer use ”oil harden masonit” 🎉 nice work!
I have seen it last a long time on a boat deck
👍es wird, isolieren, Möbel rein. Heizung an und fertig😜
Damn, you're getting pretty good (and creative) with your construction skills. 🤘🤘
So may boats. Do you have a plan ? Complete some and sell them perhaps ?
Well what about the floor insulation.... the river is a huge heatsink.
A word of advice, keep your wood pellets dry. They will expand in humid conditions and jam in the auger.
yes and when wet. it wont burn
Thanks for sharing and taking us along
looking forward to some boat party footage!
weiter so !
gut dass du etwas fertig machst. super gut 🙂🙂
Looking sharp. I admire your perseverance.
I just came back from holland and its was 4 degree omg
Keep up the good work!
It looks like you created an artificial island in the city center :)
"Waterworld" here we come!
The floor i amazing, love it.

You need to insulate these walls! With a vapor barrier on the warm side (on the inside of your boat)
Your navy is really impressive
NEVER use MDF in a boat, thats a waste of time.
Only Tricoya MDF.
Look it up…
It's coming together real nice! Have you considered changing the name of your channel to "My Flotilla"? Keep up the good work.
SOON THE NEW NAME OF YOUR CHANNEL WILL BE: MY FIRST 10 BOATS🚤🛳️⛴️🛥️🚢⛵😂😂😂😂
Many pellet stoves can burn un-cracked dry feed corn
You have a river Navy!
From where did you buy your FIRST boat?
wind power.
What about some wind turbines? For charging your batteries?

Haha its an island. A floating city within a city😂
Nature presents us with limits. Me feels you've reached your acquisition limit.
Is that your dog?
You bought ANOTHER boat?
15:50 it's going to sag along the unsupported side, guaranteed.
Always interesting
Okay I’ve been watching for a few years now and I need to know, how are you funding all of this? 😅

It can be fine is seal in epoxy then good paint

All materials can be closed in with epoxy. If you do it right.

What happend to your tugboat?
Avoid fastening into end grain. Use blocking
These Days you can't talk about winter..
Just admit to yourself that you have become a very competent Shipwright, so you don't have to feel cheeky about acquiring boats as that is your profession now 😊
OBSERVATION...nice vids. The mdf is trash. Moisture will soon ruin it by swelling
Das isn't fantastisch.ales gut.😮😮😊😊😊

flot arbejde
aloominum boat xD
Expecting that flimsy cardboard will stop developing foam is childish. 🤦♂️

Plate is used for metal, board for wood and sheet for everything else, your English is excellent otherwise.
This guy is a joke, he buys boat after boat but never finishes any of them .
Rubbish trims and very poor attention to detail .
