Our journey took us through the clouds to the summit of Haleakala, standing tall at 10,023 feet (3,055 meters). It was an unusually warm and calm sunny day, perfect for exploring this unique landscape. Walking slowly due to the low oxygen levels felt like stepping onto another planet, surrounded by the desolate rocky environment and the strange, alien-like Silversword plants indigenous here.
