Wu & Venus Maui Wedding Ceremony: A Day of Love, Unity, and New Beginnings at the Hyatt Regency Maui

On Sunday, June 16, 2024, Fiona Yin Wu and I shared the most incredible day of our lives at the Hyatt Regency Maui. Our wedding ceremony was a heartfelt celebration of love, unity, and new beginnings.
The ceremony was filled with so much love and support from our closest friends and ohana. Special thanks to Fiona's mother, Hong Yu, who traveled an astonishing 30 hours from Tianjin, China, to be with us.
Growing up in Lahaina was an unforgettable experience that shaped who I am today. I spent my childhood at Kamehameha III Elementary, where I would swing on the neighboring iconic Banyan Tree and later navigate the steep hills of Lahainaluna Road to attend intermediate and high school. My days were filled with the vibrant culture and warm spirit of the community. My family's store, Venus Electronics, was a central part of my life, where we ran Lahaina's local television channel, MCTV-7. These cherished memories of Lahaina, with its close-knit ohana and stunning landscapes, have given me a foundation of resilience and a deep appreciation for the beauty and strength of my hometown.
The ceremony was small but deeply meaningful, especially as we acknowledged the recent devastation in Lahaina.
Our wedding was a testament to love, resilience, and community. The Hyatt Regency Maui holds a special place in our hearts, having hosted the weddings of my sister and mother. We are immensely grateful to the staff and our wedding planner, Ella Tacderan, for making our dream day possible.
