The Shaw Classic is such a standout contest in the strongman circuit. I always get so excited for every year!
It's the heaviest, don't have to worry so much about speed, more likely that the strongest will actually win and not who has the quickest feet while picking up something everyone can lift
@@wut37inarow Well the entire history of Strongman has been about being able to move with weight and be fit, as well as strength events. Only recently has top-end strength taken priority over fitness and muscle endurance. Maybe the turn of the 2010's is where records and max events were gaining precedent.

Loz once said "Most people throw the bags. Brian launches them". That just proves it.
Brian's first yeet was like over the top so fun to watch!
A couple things to work on for this event.
You've got four people watching each competitor. Yet they can't adequately call out a miss or not?
Stopwatch guy should only be focused on keeping time. One guy in front of each competitor to call out misses.
The bags need to be marked by weight on multiple sides or marked via different color bags. So when there is a miss the competitor could retrieve the correct bag, not just pick a random one out of all the same colored unmarked bags. You've got judges or stage hands that can't even point out the correct bag.

I'll be honest, I think you should release the Shaw classic on RUclips, I'd wager no one else is going to pay for the show. But you'd gain a lot of views, and likely bring in people who are curious about strongman.
That would be the way, but you know that's not gonna happen, because he's still marketing the paid show. To grow, we need to expose as much as possible.

I feel like there should be a way to avoid what happened to Maxime. How about a ref out in front of them that gives a go ahead to throw the next bag? Like you'd get a lift command in a squat or deadlift for reps.
Good idea. At least have one ref for "good lift" and the others to keep time.

If I remember correctly, Brian used to do this in his parent's back yard for fun, and has broken the record multiple times.

I would watch this here if you put it on youtube during the shaw classic... or even just the weekend after. This is too late. Stream it live for free with ads. Grow the sport. Make it available to those who aren't already obsessed with strongman and you all will end up more successful.
