It's not that crazy, the game was rushed
@Dr1PZZs xBBux so many games thought to be glitchless on Alpha, Beta (sometimes even Gamma) Testing would later be discovered to be not so on release, and therefore exploited.
The Barrier Wall Glitch in LoZ: Windwaker is a good example. Every speedrunner dreamed to be able to go pass, but it was protected by not one, but TWO, Barrier walls reaching to the world limit. It took a programming tool to discover it.
You'll find glitches accidentally or on purpose.

Hey, so a little suggestion for a video. What happens if you play Pokémon Sword and Shield, but you use the glitch to change your time to before the game came out and play the whole game? A way you could do this is just create a new account, sync it to your Nintendo account and then do the time changing glitch. Then, change the time to a couple months maybe before the game came out and play it again. This could take a while, but I’m wondering what will happen. My sister sort of tried this, she changed her date to before the game was made while playing it, and only one Pokémon showed up in the wild area. I think it could be a cool video idea, so yeah, I hope you see this comment and agree with me. :)

Actually the game plays pretty much normally in the wild area. You can change the date on the Switch back to like 2010, it still works fine.

Well, even if you can't skip badge checks you could use this to get flying to almost any town, allowing you to skip a lot of otherwise required trainers throughout the course of the game.

Not necessarily. You only need online to skip days. So theoretically you can do this by manually waiting an actual day in real time.

Suprised nobody hasn't mentioned this but I heard from a friend of a friend that when you glitch into some other area you will see a huge boat or Ferry, then there will be a truck close by where you will be able to move it to find a hidden pokeball with Mew in it.
I remember that glitch in the Gen 1 games with the ss Anne. But there wasn’t a mew

That might be an overstatement
Gamefreek did quite a good job of debug (not animating) this is a very obscure series of inputs followed by a 24 hour wait in a specific spot on the map. Gamefreek now has the power to patch these bugs anyway so they don't care.

You can save out in the void or at least my game allows it. And you will load back into the void after a game close out and reopen.
Hey dude, this glitch is amazing. I saw the video and, I immediately paused the video and opened my copy of the game, and I got the vid going, and the glitch is so far working.

I can actually already see the speedrunning applications for this. Using this glitch, you could visit every town and gain the ability to fly to every town pretty much immediately. Even if it takes 3 or 4 minutes to set the glitch up, it removes almost all required trainer battles. Depending on the amount of grinding needed to compensate, this could potentially save a significant amount of time.

What happens when you set up a camp in the void?
Miqsah It would work with the surroundings of the natural area, but online trainers most likely wouldn’t be able to interact with it unless they, too, were in the void
Just tried this myself. Turns out if you hadn't gotten sent back down to the bridge level there, you could've gone way beyond the entrance to Galar Mine No. 2 into an endless sky. The game actually lets you save out there; I didn't do it because I was on my main save file, but I'll make a new one for this to see what happens.

Wait, so they had a fail-safe in case someone tries to save out-of-bounds, but they didn't do the standard procedure of programming the walls to force the player back in-bounds? Game Freak has been making 3D games for several years now. You'd think they would understand basic programming practices by this point.
Maybe the out of bounds detection isn't perfect, so they don't want to "force the player back in-bounds" when they might not always actually be out of bounds.
Also they probably only check for being out of bounds when you open the menu, so if they only force the player back then, people could bypass it by just not opening the menu.
@@jde12 You're making it out to be more complicated than it actually is. This is basic collision programming that has existed since the NES. The border between out of bounds and in bounds should be a 1-way wall. Touch it from the inside, it's solid. Touch it from the outside, you can pass through. With this game, they've made the border solid on both sides.
The problem with these online battle glitches is that they will really mess up the online scene.

This reminds me of the glitch in the original spyro games where you would swim in the air, these kinds of glitches are amazing in my opinion I absolutely love seeing and going to the out of bounds areas a lot closer than normal

If you don't like using Ranked Battles, you can set up a Fast Frame Skip glitch instead of the Day Skip Glitch that PokeTips provided. This FFS Glitch is commonly used by hosts of Shiny Max Raids to get to their Shiny frame, however you could probably work it to your own advantage.
1. go into *any* Link Battle
2. when the battle starts, turn Airplane Mode on and then immediately off again (not sure if it works for Link Trade)
3. Fast Frame Skip (and by extension Day Skip) is now set up
I'm a bit late to the party but I hope this helps anyone who scrolls down far enough to see this
