Dan Wild Yeah. Like a cutscene or ZAcian and Zamazenta duel attacking and then Eternatus dodgers and kills them with some move, then hop and leon run,c’nowing what happens next. The end of the world happens, and the game resets to the start of the battle tower it’s every Pokemon healed.

Pokemon doesn't have game overs. That's the way it's always been. Besides, Eternatus is such an easy fight that the only people who would lose to him are people who have never played a game in their life.

You're literally fighting an eldritch radioactive dragon with enough power to destroy the region singlehandedly in a battle for the fate of Galar (possibly the whole world)...and losing isn't treated as a major deal.

Basically me: all of my strategies are to lose
that is actually very sad, the fact that the challenge of this fight is so low that you actually have to make an effort in order to loose. the only true challenge that pokemon has had recently is ultra necrozma. I really like some of the things that they are doing in the newer generations but i miss the difficulty of old pokemon.

okay but the difference between those and pokemon sw/shield is that pokemon sw/shield counts it as *canon*.
@@mattstat716 right, it uses the same "go back to the pokemon center" thing as when you lose to any other trainer/pokemon. But other games also use the same Game Over screen when you die to bosses. Should I be mad that I don't see Ganon leave the castle in botw after you lose to him?
Also don't forget that this is very very very much a kid's game and after seeing "oh you're ok, you went back to the pokemon center" multiple times, if a kid were to lose to Erturnatus and see "oh yeah youre dead" that would be... I don't know how explain besides, scary or, freak them out

When the challenge is to lose to the final boss of a game, there is a problem.
Eternatus is not the final boss, though. Leon is, because he's unbeatable, and has a Charizard. Did you know Leon, the unbeatable champion, has an unbeatable Charizard? Leon is so cool because he is unbeatable, and has a Charizard, and also happens to be the Champion. But did you know he's Champion?

Pretty much, the protagonist's evil is often stopped by the game's unwillingness to accept the rise of evil, resulting in polite world destroyers. Bad endings should really be integrated more.

Funny story; I have a rule that I initially throw a normal pokeball at legendaries before anything else since 6th gen. This actually gave me my first ever critical capture in Xerneas which was very surprising for me at the time as I had no idea what a crit capture even was.

i caught legendary sword pokemon with a heal ball. On my 2nd try with ball to. (took ton of reloads but ya). So now I am stuck with 1 mastery ball.

Yes, switching your team for a lvl 5 Pokémon is an extremely difficult task.

You're supposed to build a pokemon capable of killing both legendaries and Hop's team to lose, it's literally impossible to lose if you can do that.

My personal headcannon is that Dialga and Palkia are like these protectors of the world, and whenever a trainer loses a battle that decides the fate of the Earth, (against Kyogre/Groudon, Cyrus and Giratina, Lysandre, Lusamine and Ultra Necrozma and Eternatus) they rewind time and space to the last time you healed at the Pokemon Center.

Honestly, I wasn't expecting anything special to happen when you lose to eternatus cause when you lose important battles it's like a game over, but you just heal your pokemon and everything starts over at that point like nothing happened yet. but, in Sun and Moon, you can go with losing to your rival and losing to Lillie's mother the fist time you battle her and not black out and have to start over.
