    Building a guitar with Warmoth and Fender parts can be difficult if you let it. But taking the Telecaster licensed neck from Fender and creating a finished item is how to start. And Warmoth have some very high quality Strat and Tele style parts available that might be difficult to source from Fender or anywhere else for that matter.
    In this video, we're going to show you how to fit tuners and a decal properly on a Warmoth Licensed Fender Neck. This is a crucial step in building your guitar and we hope this video helps you get it right the first time! This neck will be used to create a Telecaster style guitar in another video.
    If you're looking to buy a guitar, be sure to check out the Warmoth website. They offer some of the highest-quality Fender-style guitars and parts in the market, and their customer service is good. Their guitar components are built using the latest in technology and craftsmanship, so you know you're getting a high quality product when you buy any Warmoth guitar part.
    So when you want to fit a decal and fit locking Fender tuners not doing the work carefully will likely result in various problems that will be hard to resolve later.
    The neck used here is a Fender licensed neck by Fender from Warmoth made of birdseye maple and the guitar I am creating is for my own use only and its not for sale. Please don't fit a Fender logo to knock off Chinese guitar necks as the aim of this video is for decal and Fender tuner fitting to Fender licensed necks or to restore an original Fender guitar.
    When you buy a Warmoth guitar neck to fit the Fender locking tuners, Warmoth neither fit a decal or drill the location holes for the locking tuners, so ensuring the right parts and equipment is used becomes important so that you get things right first time.
    This replacement licensed Fender Telecaster neck made by Warmoth was already sealed with matt finish by Warmoth and for the tuner location holes I used a G-Tech jig for proper drilling locations that are essential. This is the best way to get good results. So is Warmoth worth it? I think so. The Warmoth birdseye maple neck is really cool and by the way this was not part of the guitar build off 2022.
    Overall in this video you will see a Fender Licensed electric guitar Telecaster neck that includes many custom features as shown in another video of the neck and specifications here: • What are the best Tele... and there is also a video of the Warmoth Telecaster body to be used later as part of the final guitar build: • Is this the Best Telec... I recommend you take a look and see what you think of it all.
    I have spent considerable time creating this video and note that its not sponsored in any way - I bought all the parts myself. The video is a reflection of my own experience to date with Fender and Warmoth parts.

    That neck looks amazing! It's really got some beautiful figuring. I've been wanting to make a Telecaster out of Warmoth parts. You pretty much did the same look I'm after. Now that I have some time off, I'll probably get to it. I can't wait to see this completed!

      The rest is coming up but I'm honestly currently flat out every day trying to create the next few videos. My plan is to create that guitar by new years day :) watch for it... and you really should have a go at creating 'your' guitar, trust me, I have made a few, and each and every one I own has a particular 'vibe'. If I did not know, I would instantly know when playing any of them that it was created by me... sounds crazy but I always have the plan for the guitar in my mind BEFORE I make it. Some will tell me this is wrong or that 'was a bad choice' etc. but I am not capable of country music so it will end up a blues and rock animal I'm sure :) You really should have a go and best of luck to you with it. Thanks for watching and have a great new year too.

    I was tempted to fit Fender Logo's on my luthier made Strat, but when i suggest this to my luthier
    he was not happy, and bruskly told me that he was not in the business making fakes.
    So to keep peace, i insisted he had decals made with his signature on it, his smile returned!
    Fitting "Fender" logo's on your own build is down to yourself.
    I would have thought that you would have had some "Evil Owl Studio" ones made Tony.
    That Telecsater should look stunning when it's all finished.

      I think there's a 'tonycaster' on the back :) and I 'almost' was going to get an 'owl' at thew 12th fret :) Yes its quite funny how its all interpreted, a Fender logo on a Fender licensed neck... that already has 'Fender' on it... I put it on simply to fill a space and really only because the Warmoth one is literally a stick on. If ever I sold it, I can remove it in 5 minutes really so no real problem. Obviously I would never sell a guitar with that logo on unless it is actually that brand. Thanks for watching.

      You can get in to a problem with the birds eye maple with trying to fit decals on there. The wood has 'natural' lumps in there on the surface, and getting a neck with far more figuring will cause an issue. For this neck I already knew that, and I looked closely at a very well covered but not too figured neck. The guitar when finished I'm sure will be cool. Thanks for watching and have a great new year. Watch for the next part coming soon.

    I understand using the Fender logo, which is what I'm going to apply to mine, but it wouldn't be built at the Custom Shop, or in Corona etc.

    apply clear to the headstock, allow to dry, sand level and polish. degrease, apply decal, wait 24hrs for it to dry. apply 3 medium wet coats of clear. leave to dry, sand, apply 3 more coats, sand and polish.

    • @tonymckenziecom
      @tonymckenziecom  Год назад +1

      Ha, we all have our own way of doing things :) Because this was matt I tended to be careful and more laid back for the coats. BTW another basic 'omission' on my solution was that I literally never really did sand it down as it was not necessary with the matt. Of course on gloss a different situation exists. Thanks for posting what you would do too! It helps many I'm sure whatever logo or even if just finishing the neck also. Have a great new year and thanks for watching.

      Indeed I did later... very well spotted! I put a dab of lubricant on it because it was binding just a little. That cured the problem - man, you looked close :). Have a great new year... and thanks for watching Jim.

    Why do you use a satanist symbol in your introduction to the video? The owl holds between its legs a necklace whose meaning is obscure. Just to ask.

    • @tonymckenziecom
      @tonymckenziecom  Год назад

      The answer is simple. When I bought the owl that is holding said symbol, it is actually part of the owl as supplied. You can find them anywhare. However, I bought the owl for the studio that reflects a number plate on my car... and that is EV 11 OWL so it all came about thanks to a number plate I bought that was the first one I could actually read as a English phrase. My son almost bought EV11COP! That I found to be at least amusing. So literally the symbol that you refer to in this case is actually meaningless. Hope it helps and thanks for watching.
