      ***** Let's be onest! Would you prefer a pc and humble version of Him? I'm pretty sure some artists like Morrisey, John Lennon or Picasso [this list is so loooooong] would loose their incredible appeal [and probably their genius] without their lunacy, thier "chutzpah" [i just learned this new english word...] and narcissism.
      The problem is when a mediocre and overrated "musician" like Justin Bieber says “I feel like the Kurt Cobain of my generation, but people just don't understand me,”

    Marr may not have the voice that Morrissey has, but when it comes to performing the old Smiths songs Marr does a better job filling in the vocals on his own than Morrissey could ever do with someone else filling in Marr's guitar.

    When I hear this song, I love the talent of Johnny Marr and can only wonder how good the song would hear with Morrissey singing it with Johnny playing.
    When I listen to Morrissey, I can only marvel but wonder how good it would sound if Johnny was playing beside him.
    Forget about Joyce & Rourke, surely Morrissey & Marr can talk? And then, to make the make the dream come true of millions, play together again? It should happen, make it happen! Vote for a Marr/Morrissey re-union!!

    • @DucksCourage
      @DucksCourage 9 лет назад +8

      Somehow, although I feel the same with regards to listening to Marr without Morrissey and vice versa, I think a Smiths reunion would be rather tragic. Bands from the past should stay bands from the past.

    • @MrPge1970
      @MrPge1970 9 лет назад +3

      Louis O'Halloran I understand what you're saying Louis but I would say that it seems strange that both Johnny Marr and SP Morissey have both included this (superb) song in their setlist in recent tours. I agree that most reunions are probably wishful thinking (save Stone Roses - made my musical life!) but I think that Morrissey & Marr (only- not R&J) is made to happen and, curse me for being hopeful, I think that they would both benefit and enjoy it.

    That was a solid and passionate performance, especially considering how much guitar work Marr has to do while singing (unlike Morrissey). And no auto-tune or lip sync here either, which is more than many other musicians can say. Bravo.

    Marr fucking killed it. And his right hand speed... sick!
    And huge props to his band. They are tight and sounded fantastic.

    I like hearing Johnny on lead vocals for Smiths tunes - fresh perspective.

    I have to confess that when the song started playing, reminded me of the Rank version and I thought I was going to listen Morrissey's voice. I would really love to hear those two singing it along :'(
    Johnny stills has the sound!

    The vocals reminds me of Morrissey's pub band trying to play Johnny's guitar riffs !

      +Bobô Master Também descobri há pouco tempo que ele estava cantando, e até que canta bem mesmo. O som do grupo dele está igualzinho ao da época do Morrisey. Agora, o cara é fodástico na guitarra hein? Um gênio.

      +Paulo Valderramas porra me dar uma raiva pq nunca quiseram voltar no início dos anos 90, choraram tanto por uma gravadora de peso, quando a EMI enfim resolveu assinar com eles, terminaram com a banda.

      Paulo Valderramas acabaram em 1987, teve inúmeros rumores que iriam voltar no inicio dos anos 90, mas não voltaram, infelizmente.

    I love them both. I wish they could rebuild their union. They are both geniuses and they need to be together. My favourite performance is Morrisey at the Hollywood Bowl with How Soon Is Now. That was fucking brilliant.

    The Smiths wasn't just Morrissey or Marr. it was both of them wholeheartedly. it was a one-time thing, and now it's over.
