I have the sigma 35mm f1.4 and I barely use it. I do mostly portraits and I don’t like shooting that wide. When I do shoot wide I use the 50mm f1.8S and back up a little. I have both the z6 and the z50 and I do use the 35mm on the z50 with the ftz adapter which brings back up to 50mm. But maybe I need to give the 35mm more of a chance. I won’t sell it but something about the 50mm, 85mm, and the 135mm primes I like the compression it produces compared to the 35mm. Great video. I really liked when you slapped yourself “shut up we’re here for the gear” it was epic.
Haha love the little skit at the beginning 😂 "take my bachelors degree!" I actually just sold my Sigma 35mm 1.4, I was thinking of getting the RF 35 1.8 because it's so much smaller. Not sure if I should pull the trigger on it 😪
yup, agreed, 35 is my fav as well (for stills), i'd choose this over 24mm or 50mm any day but i can't wait for the Sony 20mm 1.8G these days which came out earlier this year to try out for video work
I just bought the nikkor 35mm dx for my d5300. its a really great lens for street photos, portrait and a lot of things. I got a great deal for it used but in very good condition so I jumped right at it.
This is awesome. Hahaha i like the humor. 😂 I recently got a 35mm lens and it makes me even happier for that choice rather than going to 50mm. Although I have an apsc camera it’s still wide enough for me compared to a 50mm.
Hi Mr. Gab can i ask what should be the starting camera to do portrait shot and what lens does it need. T.y for being such an inspiration for me to be a photographer
Ive recently been thinking a lot about getting a Z6 but have been unsure because i read about how bad the preamps are supposed to be in the camera. What do you think about that? Is it an issue?
Hope you guys are doing well! Btw, watch until the VERY END for bloopers! 😂

Totally agree Gab! I love my 35mm 1.8 S lens :)) I use it on all my channel videos and photos :)
The intro to this is EVERYTHING!! I double checked to see if this was the video I clicked 😂
24 for aps-c, perfect focal length for streets too!
yep i love shooting streets with my 35mm hehe

"I really love my 35mm prime." --- IKR =))
ghad the quality of the content
Well done!
Definitely agree that the 35mm focal is a awesome do it all lens. The Nikon 35mm F1.8G lives on my D610 or D3 whenever I'm shooting.
Gotta love 35s! 🙏🏻

Loved the intro! ♥️
gab: Take anything!
Me: Sure? Okay I would like to have your Nikon Z6, Z7 and Aputure lights
On a serious note, damn that production quality bro!
Haha just not the 35mm please 😂 jk thanks man! Appreciate it 🙏🏻

That’s a great way to think about it!
Amazing clips I for sure use the 35mm for every type of shoot and love the bloopers lol
thank you! yeah it's super useful for any shoot i agree!
Is there any way you can discuss the differences between f/1.8 and f/1.4 ? It would be greatly appreciated !
Sounds like a fun idea! Sure!
Thank you so much ! Appreciate all your videos and tips, been a fan for a few years now and you’ve helped a ton !

thanks! happy ya liked it! that's great! It's a good long term investment for when you eventually move to full frame!
Finally one youtuber who use Nikon gear, cause everyone use Sony a7r iii :D
Should I get this or the 50mm
Both that and this ...
Nice! Did you record in log or flat?
Thanks! Nope I usually record on standard and just grade that hehe
The intro reminds me of Starboy mv HAAHAHHA and btw can u make a vid about all ur camera gears thx :)
HAHAAH I just realized that!! And yeah that’d be a good video!!
Hi Mr. Gab can i ask what should be the starting camera to do portrait shot and what lens does it need.
T.y for being such an inspiration for me to be a photographer
Try going for a Nikon D5600 with a 50mm 1.8 or a 35mm 1.8!
Is this lens good for vlogging?
Swapped my 35 1.4 for a 24-70. I've never regretted something so badly
both have their strengths and weaknesses! I find I use my 35mm a lot more than my 24-70 though haha
Great video as always ! I have a APS-C camera so I never know if I should buy a 24mm prime or a 35mm prime. What would you do ?
Thank you!! Go for the 24mm so that’ll be an effective 35mm on crop!
@@gabpolitely thanks for the advice ❤️
Ive recently been thinking a lot about getting a Z6 but have been unsure because i read about how bad the preamps are supposed to be in the camera. What do you think about that? Is it an issue?
Can you make a review for the Z6?
Made a video about the Z6 about a year ago hehe
I have a crop sensor, should I buy a 35mm lens or a 35mm equivalent?
Go for the 35mm equivalent if you plan to stay on a crop sensor for a while. If not, plan for the long term and get an actual 35mm!
@@gabpolitely Thank you!
how dare you enable my irresponsible spending habits bwahahaha
DO IT HAHAHA jk 🤣
@@gabpolitely my married photographer friends told me to get lenses before getting married coz I'll never buy new gear again after lmao
Nicee!!
Thanks!
LOL @ WRONG GAB DAW PALA (mountain gab pala not city gab hahahaha =)) )
HAHAH NICE u got it 😂
Who the hell disliked the video
Why does this remind me of will tennyson
I just discovered him too!! Huge fan of his HAHA
Did you live in the United States? Your language skills flat embarrass me. My Spanish is still heavily accented.
