This video seems to have cuts that I made that were kinda “hard” but I didn’t mean to make them. I was tryin to add some little features to the video in the RUclips studio and I got the track sorta messed up a bit. I hope it’s not too too distracting Seems it doesn’t get way outta whack till it’s nearing the end so I guess the more people who notice the problem.. the better 🤷♂️ 🖖namaste homies
Captain_oof here, great video Navonod, you show people great ways to get excited about cheap powerful magic. Let’s hope the format grows and the discord prospers!!
Thanks Cap I’m really happy w the amount of action that we get in the discord The only other $100 discord I know of is pretty dead and, maybe not shockingly, I think it’s got a real ass hat or two kinda gate keeping new people out of it. (I am 100% NOT talking about Timmy. Timmy is my dude. I just think some of his peeps are closed minded, not helpful to new players, and as wrong as they are confident that they are right like ALL THE TIME lol. I’m glad our place is full of cool people genuinely being helpful and decent w each other
This may have been addressed and I missed it but my only question is how do you deal with price creep? Pauper was the closest format to create a price cap and keep things budget but over time pauper staples slowly push upwards in price and $60 decks are now going for well over $100. How are price spikes dealt with?
Well, if it’s a short term sorta “fast jump” the way to deal is to set a date for submissions into a league or tourney. Or in a play group you can settle on something like “when last edited” then you just need to take a screen shot. As far as the prices changing over time that ends up being something like a “rotation” in other formats. I have decks that would have been legal for a Hundo comp two years ago that are no longer legal. Not much to do about that I think. You just have to keep up with your deck and sometimes you have to make swaps. Sorta is what it is. Your playgroup could come up with rules to help out like 10% wiggle room or something. But the fluctuations of price over time can be a bit of a bug. But it can almost seem like a feature sometimes. It becomes exciting when one of your main decks gets a reprint and you get to play a tutor or removal piece that didn’t fit before. I can give you a piece of practical advise., I like to put one “splurge piece” in my decks. Something you probably shouldn’t play technically. Like a Jeska’s Will at $13 for instance. Something that’s very good but not absolutely necessary so that you have one easy cut to make in case some of your cards inflate then you can cut that one piece and replace it with something like seething song that’s 🤷♂️ close enough.

Does everyone else see the video and the narration getting out of sync?
Hmm
No
Thanks
Must not be too noticeable then.
