- Опубликовано: 15 окт 2024
- Hosts: Joel Engelberth, Tom Graf, and Travis Murie
Here we go again back with another episode before Chicago Pinball Expo. As much as we tried to stick with 4 main topics we ended up swerving all over the road discussing a bunch of different pinball topics. We did hone in on our thoughts of the Alice in Wonderland reveal streams, our experience with X-Men and Avatar, as well as what we are looking forward to seeing and playing at Expo. Buckle up and enjoy!

Probably your most entertaining podcast so far. The end is classic. Joel, solidarity, mate - I have 3 kids and did it 5 years ago. No regrets. I do not want 4! 😎
Oh my god I'm crying laughing at the end of Joel's "experience" - the reactions from Travis and Tom were priceless...that was borderline a standup comedy bit
Listening from the Netherlands normally. But today from Detroit. On our way to expo! See you guys there.
I don't know what looks better. The tan line or the LoserKid Shirt 1:53
I’m watching on a plane back from Australia just over Italy!
DP got let down by their video crew on the trailer and had to do it themselves.
I lost it on the vasotomy talk. Hilariously horrifying.
Bottom line on Alice is if you’ve got $13k to drop on a pin you gotta be nutso to get that haha. I could get the Mando LE and FF Pro I want. Or so many other games and combos.
Suggesting manufacturers hold gameplay for months after announcement and sales is pretty anti consumer. But I get the sentiment. I think they need to release a 2-5min top down shot of 1 great ball - someone going nuts and hitting like 20 shots in a row, starting a mode and multiball and hitting all shots a couple times. Doesn’t have to be live. Just show us all the shots in a controlled way so your games doesn’t look like crap but we get to see how it shoots. I think live gameplay reveals that Stern does are probably too risky and unnecessary. Let the content creators do the live gameplay reveal once they get a game.
X-men rules NEED to force you into the danger room too.
Perfect description of vasectomy at the end. Doctors should just share that clip with patients during the interview process.
WOW! Tournament talk?.... Aaaaannnnnnd see ya later!
I see pinball designer as more of an executive producer role.
I think that game designers like Elwin have much more direct involvement in pinball machine design and creation than an executive producer does for a TV show. More like that plus writer and director.
Keith laid out every shot and every detail of all his playfields. He designed 90% of the rules. He picked video clips from the movie to link with modes, shots, and rules. He described the artwork style and feel and colors he wanted. He describes the mech he wants, he’s the wants it to do, where it will sit. Keith is seemingly by far the most involved game designer yet.
I don’t think it was a great job of the stream - the lag was all over the place - they kept speaking over each other, the game was too dark, they kept chopping and changing scenes and they didn’t have anyone who could play pinball doing the playing. The best part was Cary accidentally muting himself and not noticing 😂😂😂
Play Abba, or get a vasectomy?
