    Brilliant camera setup with the interior roof being used for the rear-view; feels very natural to look at. Also this is some superb driving, the small corrections mid-corner to fight oversteer is what racing is all about, being right on the edge! Car sounds beautiful with those ITB's howling - great footage.

      Thanks. Next on the list is to sort a panel to go between the cage and windscreen, as the silver glare is not good in the driving position, but the plan is to still keep it clean.

    great driving, pleasure to watch! has this kind of engine setup been reliable?

    • @f0xxxy
      @f0xxxy  5 лет назад +5

      Initially no, the M54 crank has inherent problems with harmonics and vibration causing the oil pump nut to loosen. But this has been solved with an aftermarket oil pump and ATI SuperDamper crank pulley. I can spin the engine to 7200rpm without issue now.

    Was watching you both from clay hill. Yours defo sounds better on ITB's though. Did they make you silence the exhaust as it seemed much louder in the early sessions?

      Mine or the Turbo? My exhaust was brand new at the start of the day, so would imagine it got a bit quieter as it had a few heat cycles - only noise tested at 93db static mind. The turbo has a dump pipe from the external waste gate pointing at the floor, which was black flagged @ 107db (drive by being 105db), so he just started lifting a little before the pit straight. The plan is to silence, or feed that pipe back into the downpipe!

    How do you find the HSD Monopro's - recommend them?

    Hi f0xy awsome driving I've followed your build from the Clio sport forum when I believe the car was a black coupe. I always meant to ask you about what you did for the m54b30 piston rings as some seem to like them and other don't I'm currently building my 3.0 so would love any advice you can give

    • @f0xxxy
      @f0xxxy  4 года назад +1

      The M54B30 ring lands are thinner than most other models, so you need to use the M54B30 rings. I have had zero issues using standard rings. I use Mahle or Hastings branded. The problem with the oil control rings blocking up is usually down to poor servicing history, lack of oil changes or not warming the engine up properly when in use.

    Cracking car that you know how to make that sing !! What f.d are you running compared with the boosted car? The responsivness of that 3.0 n.a. is brilliant both look excellent setups but itb howl wins for me!!

      Cheers. I'm on 3.64 FD (188mm Kaaz LSD), the Turbo is on slightly longer from what I remember (same LSD though). I'm just in the middle of building a fresh head, with springs/retainers/larger cams for 2021, so hopefully there will be more to come! 👍

    What brand are the rear springs? They are on oem sockets? Or inboard in the rear shocks?

    • @f0xxxy
      @f0xxxy  5 лет назад

      They are standard size coilover springs, in the OEM location, on a custom spring seat and custom height adjuster.
