Sadly there is an element of truth in what you say. A worrying amount of women either seem to be drawn to the bad guy or the easily controllable passive provider- cash cow/enhanced social status etc...

The point I was making was that there needs to be a process of “turning up the heat” before you get to pouring out emotions.

i think the most important thing is your "ability" to generate other options. since in the courtship phase, its more about pre selection and how you make her feel emotionally. its best to have other options to explore before choosing one if you decide to do that. but i think having 2 minimum is better though. it prevents oneitis, frequent compliance tests and keeps "attraction respect" up when she knows other women want you. never let your emotional brain cloud your logical thinking which can lead to pedestalization of her, wanting her validation, among other things which all lead to oneitis. personally in my opinion i think monogamy is great but it tends to not work most of the time long term. so i think its better to have other options as a man and you can still have a serious relationship with one girl. if she's not the right fit for that then dont try to force it. you have to let women go when they want to. but its funny because when youre totoally non attached and cool with letting her go, they always want to come back eventually when they know you have the emotional strength to not need them and be just fine. just make sure to invest as much thats required of you to maintain the connection with her and laws of the specific relationship you have with her. the type of relationship youre in is defined as the amount of time you invest in her. if you live with her then thats essentially your wife because youre living the lifestyle of a married couple. if it's once maybe twice a week then it's more open naturally. but it all comes down to how you want to run things with different women
