My daughter was sexually abused by a fellow witness in 2001. We went right to the authorities , not to the elders. He admitted what he had done and spent 7 years in jail. Also disfellowshiped. As a parent Im not sure why you wouldn't call the authorities right away. We were never shamed for calling them first.

It varies in different locations and congregations. Local elders dictate peoples lives in many cases, with their individual personalities. It can be a complete roll of the dice, based on where you live at the time or which elders you get "involved with"

Becky Rose what about children who are molested by their own fathers whom are elders. I can tell you for a fact that watchtower did NOTHING and whom do you think the child would report it to? A young Wittnesses gurl is not going to talk to 3 men. That’s what happens and even at age 50 it was difficult to tell 3 men. As a witness we were always told not to talk to the police because they are from the world. We are told to talk to the elders.

JW-PARENTS ARE COMMANDED TO PUT THEIR KIDS IN LAST PLACE !
If you are a JW-parent, you must blindly accept the doctrines of the corrupt, inept, alcoholic, and evil governing body ― any criticism of the WT by current and former JWs is WRONG. JW-rapists and JW-pedophiles must be protect, at all cost, including the cost of hapless JW-children.
Furthermore, if you are a JW-parent, you are commanded to accept that ... The courts are wrong. The Australian commission is wrong. They are all wrong. They are all liars. There are absolutely no rapes, no child pedophilia, no violence, and no abuses. Everything is perfect in all Halls.
And if you are a JW-parent, and raise these issues in the congregation, you will be condemned, shunned, ostracized, and excommunicated. And your family will be turned against you. If you go to the authorities, you will be destroyed.
In other words ... shut up and put up, and put your kids in last place, because the outside world is lying, and we will destroy your life. Shut up, or you will be made to suffer personal Armageddon, forever.

I was a Jehovah's Witness for 15 yrs. I never felt less appreciated or more useless or never good enough in my whole life. My children from babies onwards never had birthdays or Christmas and I never explained properly to them why not, because I couldn't. I destroyed their childhood and fun as well as my own. My five sons now go overboard on Christmas and birthdays with their own children. I am embarrassed and guilty about what my family went through. I prevented them from playing with children who weren't witnesses and yet other witness children never wanted to associate with my children because my husband was a worldly person who didn't believe. The gain was nothing. The stress was huge and the baggage carried forward is enormous. I'm glad I'm out of it. 21 yrs now and life is easier, but my children are disappointed in me.

    1. I know an elder, decades ago, who committed adultery with another sister in the congregation. She had confessed but he never did. He kept his elder privileges, gave public talks in other Kingdom Halls, for decades. There were some elders though, who never invited that adulterous brother to give a talk in their K Halls.
    2. When I left my ex husband on our wedding anniversary, in 2003, I had an elder's meeting with 2 elders, and they showed me a volume, I said I've read it, showed me another volume article, I said I've read it. So that is all that they had to say. I waited another 3 years to have another elders meeting with my ex husband, after I had got a legal divorce and had it sent to him. I was livid about my ex having a part on a circuit assembly, when he should not have had any privilege at all!! He has never been disciplined like he should have been. He had admitted to reviling me and the kids for over 22 years and yet he only got a slap on the hand. Every time I had wanted to get results, I ran into a brick wall. The elders are just a boys' club that relish being the leaders over the congregation of sheep and women. I'm so disgusted with them. I had got the no-fault divorce after 3 years of separation, because my ex had fraudulently borrowed money from numerous people in the congregation and outside of it, and used it as an "investment" meaning that he lived on the money and never paid the people back. I had done research in the publications of JWs, and thus got my legal divorce because I had not wanted to owe anyone money that he had got. The elders had told me that I must be faithful to Jehovah and stay single and no sex. I did for 8 years and then had an affair. The elders said that I had to tell my ex about it. I said, "You gotta be kidding!" So I told the ex via emails to mainland China, and he of course, belittled me and said that I was a "fornicating adulteress", and would die at Armageddon. Whatever, I thought.
I feel free now more than ever and I realize why my ex was never punished. The governing body and most of the men, can go to hell!

I am a current ministerial servant and regular pioneer. After seeing a fellow by the name of Chris Stuckmann on RUclips for many years and only recently allowing myself to see his JW video it all just clicked. I had imagined that if I watched any apostate info that surely it nothing more than petty complaints about the Organization and that the authors would be greedy and egotistical. However to my surprise I have found it to be anything but that. Strangely, I do not feel anger...only a little sadness that the first 20 or so years of my life were unnecessarily difficult. I wish you well, I have much to consider and a friend I have to apologize to for abandoning him in a time where he needs friends now more than ever. I also have to decide whether or not to try to convince the rest of my family to leave. If not then to arrange my circumstances so as to not sleep in the streets. Regarding 1975, I was in my early twenties in the build up to that year. Not once did they write an article or make any announcements regarding the so called “fact” that it was only “some” over-zealous witnesses who got the wrong idea. Rather they praised the ones who sold their homes or quit their jobs to go and pioneer. There was a brother in my congregation who had a family, wife and three children. He sold his home to pioneer but later had to start all over again. He is now in his eighties, his wife is on hospice care waiting to die. He apparently is so depressed at the idea of losing his wife. The paradise definitely did not come in his lifetime. Very sad. It proves that the “slave” was neither faithful nor discreet.

Jimbo Baggans Fred Franz from the 1975 yearbook on 1975 said:
“You have noticed the chart [on pages 31-35 in the book Life Everlasting-in Freedom of the Sons of God]. It shows that 6,000 years of human experience will end in 1975, about nine years from now. What does that mean? Does it mean that God's rest day began 4026 B.C.E.? It could have. The Life Everlasting book does not say it did not. The book merely presents the chronology. You can accept it or reject it. . . . What about the year 1975? What is it going to mean, dear friends?' Does it mean that Armageddon is going to be finished, with Satan bound, by 1975? It could! It could! All things are possible with God. Does it mean that Babylon the Great is going to go down by 1975? It could. Does it mean that the attack of Gog of Magog is going to be made on Jehovah's witnesses to wipe them out, then Gog himself will be put out of action? It could. But we are not saying. All things are possible with God. But we are not saying. And don't any of you be specific in saying anything that is going to happen between now and 1975.'"

I lost my best friend to this cult. She had been out of it for 20 years then about 3 months ago she started going again. I'm not sure how she doesn't see the craziness of it. We've been best friends for 9 almost 10 years. During that time she was always a leader never a follower. Then being last year she started going through some rough times. I was by her side every day trying to help her through it. But because of these hard times she started searching for something to make her happy. She started going to Bible study with her grandmother and before I knew it she had jumped whole heartily back into it. Since I am not a witness it started putting a widget in between our friendship. I really hate that things have turned out the way it has. I wish nothing but happiness for her. If she finds happiness in the witness then great but I'm afraid that it's going to turn into a disaster. If it does I'll be here if she needs me. I love her like my sister and hope for nothing but the best for her.

The people in this religion are truly good people thinking this is the way to eternal life, I’ve grown around them and they’re like a a second family to me. Really, they’re good people. However, as I grew up and listened to what they would say at the meetings, some things wouldn’t make sense, or seemed to extremist. Giving your life for you religion? I’ve heard of that. But getting blood transfusions to save your or another’s life is a sin? Stuff like that seemed iffy. when I started reading articles or videos like this, my heart broke, this is my life, feeling like everything I’ve grown up by my whole life might be wrong, felt so wrong.even know, I don’t want to admit that this might be the truth. If I start asking questions, I would be called an apostate and I would be disfellowshipped, this meaning my parents, siblings, and friends, would consider me dead. So no, I’m not gonna say anything, because even tho it might be wrong, even tho I would no longer feel like what I’m doing is right, I know the people I’ve grown around my whole life are good people and I’m not willing to loose them, selfish? I don’t know, but this is probably gonna be my life.

I got df'd because I confessed to a bunch of stuff I did trying to "get right with Jehovah." After 2 failed attempts at getting reinstated I finally started waking up. It was a years long process and I've had little to no relationship with my parents during all of it. I'm 35 now and I recently told them that they no longer have the option to shun me. I'm not coming back and I'm just not going to sit out anymore. Know what? It's working. I've been over for dinner. I was invited on the family cruise. Obviously, I'm not recommending this for you right now. I'm just letting you know that there is a place to be authentically you and still have your family. I'll also say this: It's better to find a chosen family outside of the organization than withering as a person with the one you were born into. They are nice people, until you aren't one of them anymore. That doesn't make them different than any other group. It's a fake love, Jin. They don't know it. It's not on purpose; but it's not real. Keep doing your research. Keep getting to know who you are apart from being a witness. Start seeing the good in people and in the world. Look up the word "apostate" in a dictionary and find out what it really means so you can stop fearing it. Make friends outside of the org. You have a long life ahead of you, spend it happy.

I faded since 2006 and this was my second meeting in 13 years. At the end of the meeting, which is a congregation I have never attended, and a 7 hour drive from my previous Kingdom Hall, a elder decided to approach me and started grilling me about me attending. The meeting and the friends in attendance was nice, but this brother tried to corner me. I never met this person before. I told him I was not disfellowshipped and I stop attending because of the wrong doing I seen within the congregation. I left and I felt as if there was an attempted spiritual assault on me. He never told me about the 1925 prediction. I found out about that one later. How they would go door to door with their portable phonagraphs. So many things he told me about the organization. I recently talked to an old friend that served as an elder for 20 years. I asked him... what did he know about Beth Sariam the house build in San Diego.
Rutherford predictions of the 4 fathers.
I could not believe he... an ex elder of 20 years had no clue that took place.
He is still deeply into the organization and thinks that back then people made mistakes but strongly believe that he is in the truth. I told him that wasn’t a mistake... it was a prophecy. I followed by telling the Bible condemned false prophecy to death. He had a puzzle look on his face and I could see he became very uncomfortable and wanted to go. I feel we have to educate them even if they don’t like it.

I totally agree. Most of them are really good people. They've just been mind controlled and are afraid to have any thought "against" what they've been convinced is God's chosen organization. We have to whenever possible, gradually break down the wall of mind control. Even if it doesn't work, at least attempt a respectable approach

Omar Seneriz Information about Beth-Sarim was published during 1939 in a book entitled Salvation. It stated: “rew words Beth Sarim mean “House of the Princes”; and the purpose of acquiring that property and building the house was that there might be some tangible proof that there are those on earth today who fully believe God and Christ Jesus and in His kingdom, and who believe that the faithful men of old will soon be resurrected by the Lord, be back on earth, and take charge of the visible affairs of earth. The title to Beth-Sarim is vested in the WATCH TOWER BIBLE & TRACT SOCIETY in trust, to be used by the president of the Society and his assistants for the present, and thereafter to be for ever at the disposal of the aforementioned princes on the earth. To be sure, everything then on the earth will belong to the Lord, and neither the Lord nor the princes need others to build houses for them; but it was thought well and pleasing to God that the aforementioned house be built as a testimony to the name of Jehovah and showing faith in his announced purposes. The house has served as a testimony to many persons throughout the earth, and while the unbelievers have mocked concerning it and spoken contemptuously of it, yet it stands there as a testimony to Jehovah’s name; and if and when the princes do return and some of them occupy the property, such will be a confirmation of the faith and hope that induced the building of Beth-Sarim.” -Rutherford, Salvation, 311.
If our critics will carefully note, the last sentence said “if and when” the princes do return. So again, all this information was conditional. But we think it is important to realize and to note the reason for building this residence. It was a testimony to the name of Jehovah God and to show faith in his purposes. Now what might be said here at this point is, after all, that Judge Rutherford only did what the apostles wished to do. Note what the apostle Matthew writes in this regard:
After six days Jesus took with him Peter, James and John the brother of James, and led them up a high mountain by themselves. There he was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and his clothes became as white as the light. Just then there appeared before them Moses and Elijah, talking with Jesus.
Peter said to Jesus, “Lord, it is good for us to be here. If you wish, I will put up three shelters-one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah.”
This same event is also recorded by Mark:
After six days Jesus took Peter, James and John with him and led them up a high mountain, where they were all alone. There he was transfigured before them. His clothes became dazzling white, whiter than anyone in the world could bleach them. And there appeared before them Elijah and Moses, who were talking with Jesus.
Peter said to Jesus, “Rabbi, it is good for us to be here.
Let us put up three shelters -one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah.” (He did not know what to say, they were so frightened.)
If someone wishes to criticize Judge Rutherford for wanting to have a place for those that are to be resurrected, then certainly he would have to condemn the apostles also because they had the same thought: to prepare a place for the prophets. Is it all right for Peter to talk about building shelters for Elijah, Moses, and Jesus but it is not all right for Witnesses to do something similar? Is this not another case of double standards?

@@NickHawaii Thank you for the information send. I basically believe in what Deuteronomy 18:20 saids about false prophesies.. What Judge Rutherford did wasn't a mistake.. He prophesied and the reality is that is not my place or anybodies place to prophecy or stumble anyone. That is what the Watchtower, Rutherford and the Governing body do and have been doing. I believe God it is putting a stop to them and we all see it already. The light is getting Brighter and Jehovah will put a stop to a group that has been miss representing his name for far too long. God and Jesus loves everyone... not just a specific group. Matthew 28:19 Make Disciples of people of all nations. That means to Help everyone, Love everyone and forgive everyone. Not too SHUNN and feel like you are better that the next person or form groups amount groups and give it a special name ( Pioneers ). That is only causing division.

Omar Seneriz There is a big difference between someone who is just trying to understand Bible prophecy and one who claims a direct communication with God or a miraculous foresight.
For one example, Oral Roberts claimed to be told by a 900 foot Jesus that he was going to be used to find a cure for cancer and people should send him 8 million dollars or God was going to kill him. His cancer medical center was only open for a few years.
This is a clear example of one who meets the requirements of a "false prophet," since he was not just interpreting Scriptural prophecies but he claimed a direct communication from God which proved untrue. (Deuteronomy 13:1)
Jehovah’s Witnesses have misunderstood scripture and prophecies but it doesn’t make us what critics try to portray.
And no there are no divisions among Jehovah’s Witnesses. Many have different gifts and roles in the congregation. Love for you to point me to a group who resembles true Christianity closer. Please show me. Thanks.

Nick Batchelor I am glad you found happiness with that group. As I indicated before Jesus wants people from all nations and group. I am currently part of a small group that study the Bible, we help each other and respect each other. Best of all we do not judge one another since we are all imperfect and no hour require just help everyone with love. Our small group has met a few other groups that are doing the same. I must tell you we could not be happier because is all with love. We help anyone and meet with anyone that needs help regardless or religion. We have to all do what feels good in our heart. I follow God and Jesus not an organization or a Governing body of imperfect man. If Jesus where to come today... is he going to ask you. Nick what have you done to help old people? Or is he going to ask.. how many hours have you put in this year? Think about that. Follow God and Jesus. They will show you the way.

The problem for the Witnesses however is that they claim that god is directing them and that their, ‘fruits’ distinguish them from other religions. They are no different from any other religion insofar as they are just men using teleological arguments based on an ancient text to fumble from one outmoded doctrine to the next.

I was raised a JW. Regular Pioneer, Ministerial Servant, was asked to be an Elder just before I got out. You are making some good arguments and pointing out some things a normal critical thinking mind would want to really look into, would really question. This is the main reason the JWs discourage higher education. It develops a critical thinker. And a critical thinker is going to begin to question things. Those who didn't seek higher education may develop their critical thinking as a result of purely life experience over many years. But higher education fast tracks it. I finally decided to go to college in my 20s. I took a critical thinking class in college and after that class I started to analyze the "religion" I was raised in. After a bit of thinking and speaking with other critical thinkers I knew it operated more like a money and property grabbing cult than a religion.

Disassociation is still a thing, I’m considered disassociated and my parents still speak to me even though I was baptized as a teenager

Your channel is excellent, super informative and revealing. Thank you for supporting your words with evidence. I wish that the subtitle option had Spanish, it would be incredible to be able to see subtitles and not use my brain to translate and understand all the information you give. Greetings from Argentina.

If I was still in I would be fretting that the elders had done worse than me but were judging me on something. First extract the log from your own eye before drawing the straw from your brothers! Not only do they get away with it, but they have God's blessing too? Come on, hypocrites!!

Terrific work and thorough bullet points Lloyd! Just catching up on this one here a week before Christmas. Every single Jehovah's Witness should see this episode! And as you said you couldn't even fit in the Beth Sarim/Beth Shan/two 16-cylinder Cadillacs scam that RutherFraud had going from 1929 to 1942. Or even Charles Russell's "Miracle Wheat" nonsense. If origins of holidays and origins of religions are so important to Jehovah's Witnesses then they will watch this and do objective, independent research to draw their own conclusions. Merry Christmas!
