Thank God for your open, honest obedience. I have watched two or more of your videos everyday since I started my journey in July. I've written my plan, selected my fasting window, decided on my cheat day, and prayed for the fruit of the Spirit to be manifested in my life. Today's video confirmed so many things that I share with you. It's my goal to give myself one year of patient, consistent 16-8 fasting. By then, I hope to be at my goal and can share my victory with you and your community. Thanks again. I love your style and may God continue to use you to encourage us on the journey. Sincerely, Eleanor

A coworker said to me recently that she made sure to eat healthy and exercise because she saw her body as a gift from God and that it wasn’t something that could be replaced. I started thinking about how I take care of my fiancé, my family, my patients, my dog, etc but I wasn’t taking care of me. That has really helped me do better with eating better, fasting, and exercising more.

Idolatry, gluttony, laziness and lack of self-control are all issues the Holy Spirit has been dealing with me about. Very timely video. Thank you!

My husband and I love Jesus and want our lives to bring him glory. We’re in our 70’s and our health isn’t great. We’ve been trying to find a way to take better care of these “temples” God has given us. We’ve tried Keto ( that really ramped up my BP!). For the past 10 years we’ve worked on plant based eating. But self control was always evading us. I recently began looking into 16/8 intermittent fasting. I’m so thankful to run across your channel (of course it was no accident). I just got your book on Kindle. Thanks for sharing this most important part of your life. I’ll keep you in my prayers. Great stuff!

Thank you for coming from a Christian perspective. I'm not Christian yet you've touched my soul. Listening to you, hearing your sincerity, love and passion was so uplifting for me. Your life mirrored mine (and many others, I'm sure). I want to thank you for opening up and sharing. I thank G- d for you and your experiences. May He continue to guide and protect you and your family. Amen Your friend from Philly, Katrina

Amen! I found your channel several years ago. I did IF off and on for about a year and I saw results. I finally committed to it a year and a half ago, come this October 2021, due to an illness that sent to the hospital for a week. It was a wake up call I know, God allowed to happen for me to acknowledge, where my gluttony, slothness, and selfishness had gotten me. Down 75 lbs, walking 6 miles now (3 times a wk). Praise God for he is GOOD!

I absolutely LOVE this video. Brilliant insights. You touch on the "deadly sins" most of us struggle with the most: pride, wrath, gluttony and sloth. Fasting does absolutely help with all of them.

You are Amazing. Yep, I said it right. You didn't read wrong. I was going to retract that, after I first typed it, not wanting to make you feel uncomfortable. However, I must admit, I dodged watching this video when you first posted it. Finally I hit play and it's as if you were speaking my life. You were telling my story, but it's YOUR story. You're amazing in the fact that you publicly put it out there, the connection of our weight struggles and actual spiritual health. I feel I need to watch this video on repeat for a while. So much packed into this lesson. Thank you for all you do. For being honest, being you. You're helping more people than you know.

Kayla, I've gotten great inspiration from your RUclips videos over the last two years as I've done intermittent fasting. However, this video took it to a new level for me. I'd become stuck, and last night at 3:00 AM, this video enlightened me to questions I've had for decades. Wow! I am deeply grateful. This video even inspired me to do an art piece on eating.

Great video, I also am a Christian, and finally I reached out to God through prayer when I did not know what was wrong with me and how to fix it, and He answered my question on why have I had this aliment for 40 yrs, and that led me to intermittent fasting to heal it. I now have been fasting for 2 yrs. health problem gone, lost 67lbs. Now when I am out with my daughter who is 52 people always think I am her sister, I would be happy to tell my story my youtube channel is called Linda Joyce. Thanks for all you do.

OK bear with me as I drive and talk to text. There may be some grammar errors. I found your channel 2 years ago I am at this time now closer to 30 pounds overweight back then it was just 15. I also am a Christian and I so very much appreciate your candor and how you laid things out in this video. I honestly can say there is not one video I have watched that you have put together that I have not liked. You are so open and kind and I and and I can fully relate with this slothfulness and going to the kitchen when I should be praying or I could be doing a task. Many times for me at night around 7 I want a bowl of ice

It goes along with Buddhism as well. One thing you are supposed to be mindful of eradicating from your life is "greed" (gluttony). And also not causing harm in the world by being greedy and taking too much. I feel that I am finally able o fulfill this spiritual practice rather than just read about it or think it's something the monks do. The monks are on OMAD and are doing this in order to break that habit of making food more important than it is, emotionally. For many years I read about the monks or mindful eating and didn't think I could do it but with IF it makes it easy to understand the greatness of all this, spiritually. Thank you for your down to earth videos. It's what got me in to IF and I feel very happy that I am on the next spiritual level that I longed for because of it.

Excellent Kayla. Life has got to be more than food and drink. If food and our belly is our god we are most impoverished
Fasting and OMAD really puts food in its proper place. Food is a gift from God. Not the god.

I love your videos, thank you. I am starting OMAD again this week. I fell off the wagon a few times and have tried other diets. I’m British and enjoy cups of milky tea. Can I exchange dairy milk for an alternative such as unsweetened almond milk during the fasting period?

Actually Kayla does use half and half in her coffee during her fasting window, and I myself have lost 19 pounds so far, doing OMAD but having coffee with heavy cream which does not seem to affect my fast. Heavy cream has no carbs and I only use a teaspoon. I agree no almond milk or anything sweet.

OMAD is not and should not be presented as spiritual fasting. You can still be a glutton on OMAD. I sure have done it myself.

What part of a Christian's life is NOT God's? Is there any aspect that is hidden or disconnected from Him? Psalm 139 and Hebrews 4... And Jesus said "when you fast" not if you fast.
