- The Wurzels steam roll into town with their new single 'Old Rosie'!
The bands' new single is the story of the infamous 1921 Aveling & Porter steam roller “Old Rosie” which was named after the Laurie Lee book “Cider with Rosie” and has been a permanent fixture at the Fair since its humble beginnings in 1969.
The song tells the true story of the steam roller being found in a rusty state after years of neglect and its finders' vision to one day restore the engine and bodywork to her former glory and of the proud day when his dream becomes a reality as she rolls up to the Greatest Steam Show on earth in Dorset.
The band’s new video features the iconic engine based at the Westons Cider Mill in Much Marcle, Herefordshire. Old Rosie also gives its name to Westons' leading authentic and traditional cloudy cider. The single ‘Old Rosie” will be available on Friday 30th June 2017.

When I saw the group years back when they were younger. I bought 3 CD's of which one cd had a track "Rabbit Rabbit Rabbit" which I found very funny, and there is something "funny" that track is not shown on the list of songs.

Westons add sugar and apple flavouring to their 'cider', which is what first prompted the phrase. Granted, not all producers in Hereford do, but nobody would dream of doing that in Somerset, Devon or Cornwall where stronger ciders are made from the sweetest, most rotten apples possible.
WiltshireByways not to Old Rosie... that is just pure unfiltered rocket fuel. Maybe some of the other stuff like Stowford Press... what about Suffolk cider? I am very partial to a glass of crisp dry Aspall on a summer evening.
Westons make great cider - it would be unfair to suggest otherwise, though like any manufacturer will water down to the ABV taxation limit. If you meet the right people in Cornwall you can find end of season cider made from apples that even wasps won't touch in excess of 30% ABV, though convincing them to sell you some is a task in itself.
Herefordshire also produce great cider, but Somerset will always be the best.

It was not released on vinyl at all. Only available as a digital download, or if you are lucky you may find the promo CD or The Westons limited special "Gold" edition CD on ebay. I have both in my collection.
