- ** important ** you'll need the 3.6a simulation branch for this tutorial, you can find a download link here: builder.blender.org/download/...

been looking for this exact effect for foreverrrrr now thank you so much
Nice tip to get the extrude point working by juggling to a curve and back
Thanks for providing the blend files, and explaining what each node is doing. Great tutorial and method. It really looks alive. Reminds me of boid sims.
This looks amazing. I was making something similar but your method seems so much better!
Wow, it looks so good. Really great tutorial! Thanks! :)
Crazy cool!!!! Looks awesome mate!
Awesome effect, thanks for sharing!
this looks sick
great tutorial!
Very informative thank you
Looks like a physarum sim but it's a completely different logic behind it. Fascinating...
nice work!!!
great tutorial :)
You make Blender look like Houdini in camouflage :)
that´s amazing!!!
Awesome amazing!
this is absolutely amazing, i’d love to get in contact with you as i’m really into this kind of procedural stuff, also, loved your differential growth sim in geonodes
Simulation nodes are the best thing since geometry nodes!
Thank you!!!!
Nice short concise tut on a subject there isn't enough info on. (Could hook noise to -0.5vector to scale (0.1) to Named velocity you introduced at the end). Thanks for the info. You Rule!!!
cooooooooooool
This is great thank you so much for the informative tutorial. Is there a way to change the speed of the simulation ie to make the slime grow slower or faster?
Thanks for the tutorial, super cool stuff! I tried to follow along in blender 4.1 but my points never seem to connect to form a curve, so it ends up looking like a bunch of points continuously moving away from each other. Do you know if something about the mesh to curve and curve to mesh pipeline has changed in the newer versions on Blender? Thanks!
Wow thats so amazing! I wonder if you could also use a vornoi texture node to control where the curves merge 🤔. Maybe with a setup like that you could also change the texture node and get different patterns.
probably somehow making it "harder" to go into brighter areas of the voronoi pattern with vector math, you could do that
Have you considered using the new "Index of Nearest" node to avoid using the "Merge by Distance" node? Maybe this improves performance, although it looks like it already runs quite well.
Does this work on Blender 4.0 ? Cuz I have done exactly what you did and Im not getting the result as seen here.
This might be a dumb question, but is there a way to add some kind of 'merge by distance' check so that the thicker 'branches' are merged into a single curve vs dozens of smaller curves?
love your videos, but never able to get it right. all my points are like shooting away from the center... is there smth i'm missing?
I'm having a problem. So I did everything as you did, triple checked it all.
But mine isn't flat, and it's also not making several large veins. Using V.3.6.2, is it really the issue of not having Alpha?
From center it's making 2-3 large veins going at a diagonal angle in 3D space, away from each other.
the link points to 4.1.0 does it work there or I am wasting time? I've been searching simulation nodes all day there is no 3.5 alpha or anything at all, no link work
This is awesome and I wish I could get a hang of geometry-nodes and simulation. But I just cant wrap my head around it. Its to much info and to many parameters to take account for. So every tut I watch about basics start of good enough but exponentially overcrowds by brain with alternatives and nodes with specific attriubtes. Great vid though and the effect reminds me of a resident evil virus.
It would be so much better if you did the tutorial in real time
how do i make it fill the text and then grow out of text?
Hi, I did the tutorial, quite a ride ! i got something interesting but...i cannot render it. is this because i have to apply/bake simulation ? what did i miss ?
thanks, the result is cool, i learned lots of things.
Maybe try checking the first "extruding mesh" node group, i had mine accidentally set to faces and not vertices
Hi Seanterrelle, just bought your file for this and it doesnt seem to show the render like this. Could not find the 3.6a file on blender builder and many of the nodes are undefined in the node editor. Can you help please?🙏🏼
Yes I'll do my best to help! I've tested it on windows in Blender 3.6.4 LTS and it works as expected. If you can let me know which version of Blender you're using as well as if you're on windows, mac, or linux I can investigate further. You can also e-mail me at seanterelle3d@gmail.com if that's easier :)
why i can't download the simulation node addon on my 3.4 blender i install it but nothing happens after that i even don't get the simulation option in the geometry nodes :(
you'll need the 3.6 geometry-nodes-simulation branch which you can find here: builder.blender.org/download/experimental/
Tool album cover
it doesnt... ohhh I need 3.6a I just got 3.6.0
you have no idea of how much this is helping me, thanks!🦦
