No it wont. SM2 is a good looking game probably fun too but is having too little content for its price tag right now. I think HD2 will have far more replay value, and it costs less too. This is coming from a 40k fan that is currently annoyed with the HD2 changes.
Thank you for pointing out there it's crazy how people think it can kill the game when both have completely different player base and one studio has low budget while the other has good budget to make good game
@Scriptomancy not only that.. the anticheat is ran by "easy anticheat" the same one uses in epic for fortnite since epic is the moderator for the pc side. They do a horrid job in fortnite and other games.. Most of my frens play console and pc mix when we get together. This is not good for the game at all. Very little on the content side for 60 bucks in a year. Good for players that enjoy the game I hope they get their money worth out of it... but I don't see long term playability.
Hmm doesnt look like sm2 is 70 hours worth of playtime without the pvp. Hd2 is Def worth 40 hours of playtime. Thats 1 buck an hour for both games. Currently at 350 hours plus in hd2 and altho i must say sm2 looks like a lot of fun i dont think it even comes close to that for me.
Helldivers is only going to lose 40k fans. Space marine is a game *for* fans of its franchise. And while i don't doubt alot of people are going to get into the game and subsequently the franchise. Im probably going to stick with helldivers. The thing i love about helldivers is its openness. When you drop in, you can go to which ever object you want. Or just start searching for points of interest. A SM2 player has told me how its co-op missions play and im gonna be real it just sounds like a generic co-op shooter like aliens fireteam elite. Helldivers isn't going to die because even when faced with a big contender like space marine it still manages to feel different from them.
I agree in that Helldivers 2 is a roaming shooter whereas Space Marine 2 is an on-the-rails shooter, a stark difference but I think, at least in the short term, it will siphon players feeling burned by Arrowhead.

Two completely different focuses. They both know what they're about and I imagine they'll cater to their core fan bases
There are more people who own helldivers and are just playing space marine. than there are playing helldivers.
I mean i can only play SM2 since HD2 is currently region locked on my country
Dang it! I'm so sorry to hear that. THAT NEEDS TO BE FIXED!!!
I can play both with no problem
Yup, yup

Ya da ya da..
Sm2 players will be bored b4 you know it.
I can see that. As I stated, if one isn't into PvP, SM2 has limited re-playability

Im playing rn its fun for what it is but its def not killing HD2 besides HD killed itself already
That's the point I was trying to make. :)
I'll still play both
Same here!

I love that way you looked at it, amortizing the hours of fun, I do the same
Could not have said it better
Thanks bud
