As an airburst main I loved this thing upon when it was first released and I quickly learned how to master using it. It's so satisfying to decimate patrols.. although it's useful to hit the ground rather than just straight firing at the patrol because the way the explosives bounce away from the initial contact explosion. Also your teammates will typically keep a distance if they spot you using this thing because of the rep of the weapon. Also if you shoot between the legs of an hulk it will heavily damage it or destroy it. Although the airburst is not effective against factory striders & bile titans.
Also another note: my experience using the airburst rocket launcher after we conquer penta it was crazy good for taking out shrieker nest (one good shot and it wiped it out) and the aoe radius at the time was Insane.
Air burst is much more fun with the recent patch. Bug patrol > vaporised Charger > 1 shot the butt to sent it flying Impaler > 1 shot under it or exposed head
@@superklippy6876 I loved it right after the initial fixes but it still felt like it was lacking a little in it's ability to crack armor. Admittedly I have not tried it since the big patch so I'll have to go see for myself in a minute lol😅
Been playing nothing but this weapon since they changed the damage numbers. I still played and overcame my tears when it blew up in my face because of dead bodies. Now that the bug’s been fixed, the gun is in a pretty good spot. The only thing I would change is add the 2 step stage to reloading like the recoiled rifle and spear. Once I put the rocket in it, it should stay in it if I cancel the animation. Then I reload it again, it does the twist animation. Other than that, I think they nailed the balance and skill level required to use the weapon.
I’d rather it have high armor pen rather than a larger radius infact there are times where I find myself wishing it was a tighter cluster do I could do more condensed damage
I just don't see the value in giving up the special weapon slot, the backpack slot, and a stratagem slot for this thing, when I could just use the orbital gatling or eagle strafe and it would provide the same or better capabilities while only costing me the stratagem slot.
@BackwardsPancake I definitely get where you're coming from. I would say those things are great picks but also I don't want to use them every time you know? I think the airburst can handle pretty much everything bugs throw at you aside from Bile Titans. I think it has a lot of value, and it's fun as hell to shoot lol
Also while it's true that using up the backpack slot can be seen as a disadvantage, it can also be an advantage. Post up next to a resupply and do a team load airbust, doesn't matter what you're fighting or how many of it there is. Team loaded airbusrt is some of highest effective damage you can pump out in the quick.
That is my thoughts too, it's fun to use when you can make it work well, but sometimes you a situation just means you can't use it (unless you're okay with killing squad mates, which makes you both a bad person and bad at the game).
this video really helped me realize just how good the orbital fire stargem is. airburst definitely performed exactly how i expected it, barely any kills and easily replaceable with cluster strike for better control and efficiency, while letting you bring an actually useful non team killing support weapon
09:25 sees shrieker storm 09:28 switches to "AIR" burst and reloads 09:31 switches to primary and uses that instead me: 😐😤😫 please use the weapon for its inteded purpose i'm fine with it being used on non-fliers but come on man its meant for shriekers atleast use it against them and this isn't even the first time you've done this😭
Iron Blooded Orphans is VERY overrated, at least, for a Gundam story. It'd be fine by itself and doing it's own thing, but the "Gundam" part feels very tacked on cause it in no way feels like Gundam Oh, and yeah the Airburst Launcher is pretty good now
@@superklippy6876 It's admittedly a hard series to start, especially if you wanna experience Mainline Universal Century. The original anime, 0079, is both the best and the worst as it is the purest depiction of the original story for obvious reasons, but it is also rife with episodes meant to sell toys pushed on Tomino by Bandai. The 0079 Compilation movies are better in a way, cutting out ALL the filler and toy selling episodes, but also cutting events that should have stayed, like Amuro's fight with M'Quve. The Origin is a prequel series to 0079 and it's probably the best way to get into it, even if it isn't exactly canon. There's also the OVAs; 0080 War in the Pocket, 0083 Stardust Memory, 08th MS Team, all those can be watched without any context really. My personal recommendation would be to watch The Origin, then the Compilation Movies, followed by the OVAs listed above (save 08th MS Team for later for reasons I'll get into) Zeta, then 08th MS Team to basically cleanse your palate of Zeta's depressing ending, then Double Zeta which is tonal whiplash but honestly worth the watch, and then Char's Counterattack. The reason I'm harsh on Iron Blooded Orphans is that Gundam started out as Hard Sci-Fi that was Hopeful Anti-War, depressing at times, but always hopeful. IBO isn't really Hard Sci-Fi which isn't necessarily bad, but it's also kinda... Aggressively realistic, but not in a way I find interesting personally.
@@superklippy6876 Yesss, and oh I forgot, there's also the movie Cucuruz Doan's Island, made by the same people who made The Origin. It takes place during 0079, and it's real fun!

So glad someone else is giving this thing love! It's really good but man it's got a big learning curve.
As soon as a patrol rolls up you can just delete them 😂 but yeah it definitely requires well placed shots. Hopefully people see how good it can be
How not to shoot point blank weapon

@@truemage3985 I’d love for this thing to get the programmable ammo. Have something Similar to napalm or the gas.
Yes, fireworks are fully viable now! Finally it no longer explodes in your face - plus it does a lot of damage.
It does a crazy amount of damage, it still surprises me when I delete patrols with it 😂
I like the airburst because at the end of the day you can get in to deep and broken arrow it if you have to

Also if you wanna know where the stalker nest is at the start of the game, MINIMAP. Stalker nests are very distinguishable to other PoI

Good for shrieker nests too!
I actually don't think I've shot a swarm of Shriekers with the Airburst, gotta try that 🤔

It seems to do everything the grenade launcher does, but much less conveniently/consistently. The cool factor is very high though

It pisses off teammates so bad.
No use since it doesn't take out a Bile Titan, just get a scorcher (lame)
