I've just got back from there! Your brave scrabbling up there in the wet. It was really slippy due to the wear of many feet. Definitely one of the highlights of the Peak District though.
Truly transported because I LOVE caves and beautiful rock formations, interesting facts about the possible dwelling and finds in the cave. Awesome how you framed the outside from within the cave, true artistry. As one commentator put it “true dedication in placing camera outside” so we could see how difficult it was to descend, (all for us 🥰) Thank you for making yet another Sunday morning starting out right with one of your fantastic videos, so appreciated. 🙏🏻 Oh yes, congratulations on your 10k, quite an accomplishment 🤗🎉
Good Morning Mary. Fantastic looking hike especially the the latter part walking through the open, grassy hills (cave looked a little on the humid side).
Another lovely video Mary and beautifully filmed, l am pleased you didn't slip and injure yourself, I hope you managed to get your shoes clean after walking through all that mud.
👍😁👍 A destination that has long been on my list and so glad you went and made a cracking video along the way. Excellant Mary. So lucky to have Thors Cave to yourself even during the week.. 😁 As useual, looking forward to your next adventure..👍 Congrats again on reaching 10K 🎉🎊👍
@@MarysOutdoorAdventures hi Mary. Thankyou and I am slowly getting better and a lot more agile and started doing post op walk exercises now 😁 Not much but every step helps 👍
Hi Mary. Everyone loves a bum shuffle :-D Can I ask which way the cave faces? I noticed that the landscape outside in the distance had a nice shape to it and it might make a nice photo blend from inside the cave. And bravo on your 10k sub milestone too.
Thanks so much Simon! I'm pretty sure it's North facing, the higher narrow entrance slightly more North-West - I've sent you a DM on Instagram with more details.
Thanks for the video. I don't know which way Thor's cave faces, but it would be really cool if you could get a picture of a sunrise or sunset from inside the cave.
Looks great! I've been following you since you started your PCT thruhike and in February I'm starting the Appalachian trail! I only have 90 days on my Esta, so I'm hoping to get halfway, but I'm planning to do Land's End to John o' groats after! Thanks for all the videos, and I would love some tips :P
Thor's Cave was neat. Going up is easy; coming down is hard. I had to laugh when you cleaned your hands. On the PCT, I'm sure your hands and fingernails were very dirty most of the time. Whenever I see old ruins like that hall, I wonder what life was really like back in its hay day. Were they happy? Were they warm? What did they eat? Also, they didn't have all the modern things that we have like cell phones and GoPro's and modern clothing. I think it was a very hard life. Not much has changed when I see you climb over that stone fence. On the AT, there are tons of crossings like that. John from MI
Thank you! It apparently evokes links with the Norse god Thor, or from the word tor which is the name for a rocky outcrop - there is no definitive answer thought I’m afraid.
Now there's commitment. Coming out of the cave, setting up the camera and going back up to try again. 😉 Thanks, Mary. 10k! 🥳👍🙂
😆 Thanks Brian!
Amazing video and congratulations on hitting 10k subscribers 👍
Thanks so much Archie!
Beautiful part of the world 😍
Beautiful video!!!! Mary 🍄
Love it!! Thank you :)
So glad you enjoyed it James, thank you!

At first, I was surprised there were no dragon bones found inside Thor's Cave, but realized dragons probably outlive silly ole caves. 🐉😊 Thanks Tink!
😆😆
Totally fabulous video sweetheart. No wonder your shoes were so mucky but looks like you had lots of fun 🤣🤣😘
Thank you my darling - and for cleaning my shoes too! 😉😘
Beautiful exploration scenes and the most beautiful is this smile on your face. 💐🇸🇩
Thanks so much!

So glad you enjoyed this one Anita 😁
Great 👍 video Mary
Cheers rex!
Lovely walk round there!
Interesting factoid - the inside of Thor's Cave appears on the cover of the album A Storm In Heaven by The Verve 👍
I had heard that! I also believe there was a film with Hugh Grant filmed there too!
@@MarysOutdoorAdventures oh of course! Lair Of The White Worm, had forgotten that 😁
Really, really liked it. Thank you.
So happy to hear that, thanks Betty Jo!

Thanks so much Howard, yes I got them nice and clean again - for a day at least!

Yay! Thank you! ☺️🥰
Well, the charms of this part of England are manifest and. . .(wait for it) . . . manifold. (Sorry, couldn't resist).
Brilliant 😆 Thanks John!
I plan to visit not on a weekend when the ground as dried up a bit. That's a nice little walk.
Good idea Clare!
😊💖🐶🐶 so beautiful!!
Thanks Bob!

I thought the exact same, unfortunately the weather wasn’t in my favour that morning - I’ll have to return one day!
Hello, lovely video, we are visiting Thors cave and was wondering what’s the car park called?
Thank you, it was Wetton Car Park

Lovely! But, who is Thor?
