- Civic si k24 swap gets more maintenance .... Finishing up the final touches on my 2004 jdm k24a. I put a new chain and vtc on, so I needed to readjust the valve specs. Stay tuned for the initial start up.

Hey Gerb.
Just want to give you a reminder that your putting a 2.4 L where a 2.0L was and the ecu will likely run hella lean because of that.
Trust me, I already found that out from my tuner 🤘🏼

Another thing is you may want to upgrade your injectors if your still using the oem 310cc. Keep the videos coming brother!
I like my valves little bit on the tight side not crazy tight but just a quiet valve train so it doesn't drive the knock sensor crazy.
.008 intake and .010 exhaust?
I adjusted my valves to a similar drag that you displayed and it sounded like 10x louder by the time I finished. I had to redo them and adjust them with a ton of drag just to get them slightly quiet, but they're still pretty loud. Not sure what I did wrong but I really don't feel like tearing it apart a third time
you messed something up. probably the alignement for each set of valves
When you do the first cylinder at TDC, look at the cam lobe itself or even take a picture. Then make sure the cam lobe on the next cylinders are in the exact same position.
Often times it’s gonna be louder when you do it, but it’s supposed to idle a lot smoother when you’re done
When spec is 0,008 - 0,010 i would put in a 0.011, that should not fit at all. If it does fit it's too loose.
Did you record when you installed the rbc can gear? Since it’s new I know it comes unlocked but when you Installed it did you put it and locked it into the pin and then one you torqued it did you turn it clockwise to lock it ?

Why don’t put your civic si z3 with RBC Head on the k24a?
Head has 200k, needs a rebuild
0.010 for both sides of valve. Go look up Aki gunner doing the valve adjustment.
I k24 bottom k20a ek would dog this civic si. you should do a older chassis.
I don’t think you should put on the intake manifold yet. I had to remove the studs on my fa5 to even get it off the cylinder head alone. Up to you tho, not sure if you’ll have more wiggle room

So the Piston that you are adjusting must be at top dead center correct? And the firing order on that engine is 1-4-3-2 correct?
Yes, TDC for each cylinder. The firing order is 1, 3, 4, 2
What oil pan are you using and what mounts for the back one
Why you didn't used k20z3 head ?
So do you just keep it at top dead center for all the valves?
You have to make sure the pistons are all the way up top for the cylinder you’re adjusting

I went off of the k24a2 valve specs
Sometimes they are on a sticker under the hood

Hey Gerb!! Do you plan on running headers? I have the same swap in my fg2 and am currently trying to figure out how to make it work with the block being taller and not clearing the firewall??
JDM CALI running skunk2 alpha header. It’s a tight fit, but you can make it work

Yo man I did these at 009 and 011 on my k20 and the valves are a little bit noisy at 1-2k rpm. Is this normal or should I go a little tighter?
