Aha sure.

Corn does not cook / boil in 5 minutes... Around 10 minutes is good usually.
Earthling1984 it’s white people cooking it so I don’t think they know
@@7up405 😬
@@7up405 So boil all the flavor and nutrient's out? aka boil the $%&^# out of it then eat it. yum. lol
I realize I am kind of off topic but does anybody know a good website to watch newly released series online ?
@Bobby Pablo Flixportal xD
my childhood best friend was mexican and her family made this alot. i moved away and every time i ate this, it would give me fond memories of her and her family surrounding me with love
Little to no complaints in the comment section. I'm proud of you guys
lol
+Asaph as a mexican...i can confirm they're SUPPOSED TO HAVE A LOT OF MOTHAFUCKING MAYO!
Spoke too soon man, spoke too soon
mariah dominguez what you doing baby
Where is the creama tho?!!
Just fucking say elote
I'm glad they didn't actually. I wouldn't have any idea what he fuck that is. People around the world watch their videos.
Harini
It's not that hard to know, when the video is clearly based off corn. It doesn't take a genius to know that. Lmao
Harini lol then you would learn what elote is by watching the video.
true
Oh. I actually thought elote was the seasoning thing. Turns out its the corn.
Well, this recipe was corny
ha!
Ben Griffin leave.
WOW
😂
hahahaaaaa!
I want to see how messy the person who took a bites face is. My face is always messy when I eat this.
lol same!
they tried making it chopped up in a cup at the summer fair, didn't feel the same
its worst on people who has facial hair, like a moustache or a lock beard.
the corn thats in a cup is actually called esquites.
ohh. No me gusta. Maybe I had a bad one though.
We did this on our channel and got plenty messy :)
this corn is the truth ,anyone who's not Hispanic who grew up in an urban area knows the corn man and this bomb as corn aka elote
people are gonna complain about this one I bet
I am from Mexico and this is delicious, you can find it anywhere
I'm Mexican too, I just thought that there's always people who come in and are like "Oh my God why didn't they do Y instead of X" or something
its not a complicated recipe
Well they did use mayo instead of crema :D
Awww silly white man! For this recipe is legit. Pat yourself on the back.
too. much. mayo
You can customize the recipe as you want. They showed the basic ingredients, but you do whatever you want/like.
yeah that was too much
No such thing! :P
Yup
They should have used Mexican style mayo.
i realized I'm the only Mexican that puts tajin in their corn
What is tajin?
Just butter and tajin tastes bomb!
I'm Mexican, I use Tajin too💜
I thought I was the only one to put tajin. I thought it was the original recipe
I'm white and I put tajin on my corn 🤣
I'm Indian, just learned a new way to enjoy corn😤❤.
Thank you Mexicans. We actually have similar food habits in a way, I can definitely see y'all love spices like we do too.
I am Mexican and have a couple of books on Indian food. I love many curries and have all the necessary spices on hand. Also, my to go drink is chai tea everyday, made from scratch.
We dont have ANYTHING in common 😅😅😅😅
@@starseyes2696 Both cuisines have spicy food. The Indian kachumber is similar to our Mexican tomato salsa. Naan bread is pretty similar to the wheat Mexican tortilla.
Why are you so adamant that there are no similarities between the taste in food in Mexico and India?
@@mariasoniamoreno3433 OH NO HE SAID CHAI TEA
@@starseyes2696look again. Cuz your missing a lot and are off
the way they put the butter was wrong, if you're really Mexican you would notice
Bueno, que en algunas partes no le pongan mantequilla no quiere decir que no quede bueno si se le pone
Yeah, in Chicago, not Mexico
I know right
+PotBoyz I live in chicago and I have never seen them do it like this
+PotBoyz wtf, you can be Mexican and be in any place of the world.
this is the first recipe they make which is actually mexican. not a watered down american version
In fact... we don't usually put butter, just the mayo. We don't normally use cotija, but fresco. We don't put Tajín, but plain piquín chili. But yeah, it's actually mexican. You can try the "marranezco" version too! :)
Aristarco Palacios Exactly
+Aristarco Palacios why would you even use fresco? and i have never seen a place here where they dont use mantequilla...
imaan fayz lo de la puta mantequilla no
Aristarco Palacios what do you mean "no butter"? All the ones I buy they add butter
Nacho libre anyone?
Get that corn outta my face!
save me some of that CORN!
i look like a FOOL last night!
Get that corn outta my face!
My life is good. REALLY good.
actually, the Pico de Gallo chile powder is what they use on elote, not Tajin. Tajin is used mostly on fruit and beer and has a tangier flavor.
Jessica De La Cruz Bravo you are wrong that chili is lighter than the redder chili powder thet use on elotes
guys I don't have that type of chili and I also don't have cojita cheese what can I use as a substitute for them ??
WTF?! We put Tapatío on ours.
I don't like Tajin on savory foods
We don't put butter on it...
while it may seem like that in Chicago , the title does say Mexican styled
Apparently another Mexican just disagreed with you a few comments above
mmmmm si, si le ponemos
***** lol it doesn't matter where you are. Mexicans don't put butter on it. Never have I seen it in Mexico. But sure I guess if you wanted to you could but I'm just saying Mexicans I know and seen never put butter on it. Only Americans do.
Ellie Cruz a huevo, y el elote es blanco no amarillo
When I went to visit my family in Mexico, everywhere you looked, there would be a man or a woman selling corn with their carts... It was awesome. But there was also a lot of stray dogs. I stayed in my cousins house, and we fed 2 puppies. Everyday, we would see the puppies at the front door. I loved those dogs and I will never forget them.. My cousin told me that they are still there
Thank you for helping the dogs
Hello, in Mexico we don't use melted butter.
no we do not use butter in the elote
You beat me to it. No, we don't use butter at all in corn and also, the corn is white, not yellow. Different flavor. Yellow corn is sweet. White is not. Also cotija cheese? We use Fresco, at least here in Veracruz. Also, not the same flavor. And not Tajín either, but unsalted, not-lemon-added piquín chili. Also, different flavor.
Yes we do, I'm from Chihuahua and instead of mayonnaise we use butter and cream
Yea I've never seen it with butter in MX either.. Very interesting though, I'll have to try that
Lol whites fail so hard.
Here’s how I make it:
-Boil the corn
-fry the corn in a pan for a minute or so
-put butter on it
-Add Mexican table cream
-add chili powder
-add the powdered cheese stuff
-squeeze some lime on it
And boom
I made this today. I mixed the 1/2 cup of mayo with 1/2 cup of crema. It was delicious! The lime juice really brings out the flavors. Soooo good!!! I would probably add a tiny bit of cayenne pepper to round every thing out.
All these food experts!😒😒😒😂😂 obviously not everyone in Mexico makes corn the same way. This is one of the ways you can make it. I'm from Chihuahua and we do put butter on it, or mayo, or both and limon and either chile en polvo or liquido, it's all personal choice. I've never tried it with crema but I'm not saying it's wrong i actually wanna try it with crema now lol
STEPHANIEDAVID1 It tastes better with mayonesa because crema takes the flavor off. Soy de Baja Norte
Arriba Chihuahua!
Fuck man. I've been trying to find a decent way to make it because my aunt was from Mexico and would always make it for me and my cousins when she was around. All I'm seeing is different people in the comments, all saying they're latina/mexican, saying it's made different ways. Some say white corn, some say yellow. Some say fresco isntead of what's in the video. Some saying butter, some saying no butter. Some saying too much mayo, some saying not enough. Yes to tajin. No to tajin. Just regular chili salt. No chili salt. It's sounding like it's more or less something that's just different from area to area but with the same basic ingredients. So does anyone want to pop in how they eat it or make it? Authentic ways.
Vixey Lazer yes, it depends on the area. In my state we use a recipe similar to this one, but with white corn and ¿liquid spicy sauce for snacks? (salsa botanera). I see a lot of people complaining about the ingredients but actually when you order a corn in Mexico the elotero asks you if you want it with this or that (you can tell him not to add butter or with little mayo), so there's not one "authentic" street corn, because each corn it's different according to one's likings
alfarer2107 Okay cool so it's customizable a bit like street vendors in the states too. Okay thanks. I'll just try a bunch of them out haha
no llevan tajin pero bueno
No. Piquín plain and simple. Diles! Diles! :)
Everyone complaining about the mayo and I'm over here like "ew too much tajin"
Wwaayyy to much mayo...it shouldn't be white! Stuff kills the flavor of everything else. Chili powder, squeeze a lime over each ear
Soy el único mexicano que pasa por aquí y se le antojó salir a la CDMX a buscar un elotero??? Quien viene conmigo??? Nadie???
Hey te recomiendo los que están justo bajo el monumento a la revolución, yo ya ando por acá.

I like when the corn is cut off the cob and all the ingredients are mixed in a cup or bowl. That little Mexican stand outside of Fuel City in Dallas has the best!
At our local swapmeets and flea markets you can usually buy this, but not on the stock and instead in a cup. They also have various sauces and spices to mix in. It goes good with lemon/lime and chili salt.
The elote man by my house uses different butter comes in a tube lol and he put hot chili on it liquid and powder it's so bomb now I want one Dx
I'm Mexican, and I aprove this message.
(Though personally I always eat it in the cup because its to messy for me, shit drips off everywhere)
The creators and people behind Tasty must have some major self-esteem to deal with allllllllllll the negative, mean comments they get every single day from their viewers. I NEVER see positive or nice comments for anything they make! Here's an idea... you don't think it looks good? DON'T. MAKE. IT. You think an ingredient is wrong/gross/unnecessary/not authentic enough? CHANGE. IT. Who seriously has nothing better to do than to constantly complain about these freaking recipes?! (and yeah, yeah I guess I have nothing better to do than read the dumb comments and make one myself ;-) ;-)
no one hates on the video's. They just state their opinion. Every heard about criticism? In fact, they need it to know what they're doing wrong and improve. Yes, obviously there are unnecessary comments out there but that's the minority. It's not a big deal really, you're just making it one. So am I lol. We're just stating that the last ingredient isn't really used on elotes.
They don't read the comments. There was a video that was a year old with the wrong description and there were a lot of comments telling them.
Clover 1128 they don’t care because they’re gettin paid regardless lmao 😂
I need this in my life rightnow
I think I was Mexican in my former life
who else haves it in a cup
White boy here, married to a Mexican gal. Guess who made this just now? Not her, she didn't even want a bite.
Stop with the hate comments and racial slurs!!! Grow Up already!!!
Why is the mayo soo white it looks like sour cream?
this corn is americanized .
not really Mexican corn 😔
I'm Mexican and we always eat our corn roasted from the grill with the husks on and then peeled off and then add all that good stuff. forget the boiling water 😂
I’m from Laredo Texas, mexico is besides me, I have family there my whole city has to do with Mexicans, the original recipe is ( A lot of mayonnaise with cotija cheese & some lemon! Also you can add tajin for spice or lemon pepper seasoning ! ) some add butter some don’t.
trump isn't gonna like this...
Why? This corn isn't illegal............fucking stupid ass liberal.
chill it was a joke lol
I'm a cat
I'm better now.
+MN Vikings612....are you purposefully only replying to Trump comments with the same thing on purpose or...

Isn't that what you see or....?
purposefully on purpose
"Oooh"
"Surprise!"
"Get that corn outta my face!"
That is not fully how Mexican corn is
1st it needs to be the corn that is white and we don't Put butter in it!!!
lots of other mexican people put butter in it, you are not the only mexican there is
Faby G. Maganda a huevo
Faby G. Maganda yeah we do.
Every time I go to get some elotes I choose the sweet ones or like we say yellow corn over the white ones
Gaby R white corn is the sweetest
O MY FUCKING GOD I HAVE TO MAKE THIS I love corn like this is wow😍😍😍😍😘😘😘😘😱😱😱
I hope this isn't an illegal-Mexican style corn.
Of course not!! You see the elote raping or stealing jobs or threatening anyone? XD
Aristarco Palacios
Wow......... lol
lol
Looks great! If you steam the corn for 20 minutes, instead of boiling, it's so much more crunchy!
es la receta que más he visto se parece a como lo hacemos en México
Awesome. I'm hungry I'm going to go get me some elotes.
omg it's that easy!! wow I love this corn!
HOLY CRAP.... THESE COMMENTS. CAN WE TALK ABOUT SOME RACE COMMENTS...... IT'S FREAKING CORN!! LMBO! IT'S CORN!!!!!! WHY DOES RACE NEED TO BE BROUGHT INTO EVERYTHING!!!. dude, Jesus loves you just the way you. EVEN IF YOU DON'T EAT STREET CORN. LOL
Tanya Hartley ikr
I grew up putting mayo and valentina all over it😋. But this looks amazing, I'll leave out the butter though
I was looking through the videos tasty has and typed in mexican, all they had was primarily this, tacos, and enchiladas. Theres waaaaay better foods in our culture they could cook! Because if you just keep redoing different taco recipes its boring and gets old quick.
I'm looking for recipes like Huevos Rancheros and Menudo! Anyone know a better channel than this I could get these and the like from?
My cousin made this on the 4th of july but she had her own recipe and it was sooooo good👌😋
It’s not mayonnaise it is Mexican crema, there’s a big difference flavor. Add more butter and use chili powder and fresh lime juice. The taste is more authentic. TaJin is a nice touch though.
no one puts tajin en elote, and butter should be thicker, and it comes from a bottle 😀.
Viva mexico!
ikr I was like wtf is this. My profile picture presents a perfect elote.
We have something like this in Bangladesh during winter. Lemme tell you it is SPICY. I have no idea what they put there. Probably harmful but it's delicious
Looks good minus the mayo....
Cat Woman then it wouldn't be elote!
Its funny how all the mexicans think Tasty is actually trying to make authentic food
elote is best when roasted y'all
perrito princesa that's wrong that's just a burnt piece of sweet corn which taste like candy yum
True
I prefer to put cream instead of mayonnaise and liquid sauce bottle, well here in Sonora so we eat them.
Super! Looks yummy and easy to make. I've tried some of your recipes and no fail!!! Thank you.
I was just drooling well watching this 🤤 ps am Mexican 🇲🇽 I grow up with this life of mine
I don't think the butter is necessary. The mayo is sufficient along with chili lime salt and lime.
If you use parkay squeezable butter, then it'll be good. ;)
Oh yes it is... you can put a tablespoon of butter in the boiling water where u cook the corn
I can just hear hear the elote man yelling ELOTEEEEESSSSSS
Me encanta! Quiero volver a México a comer la mazorca mexicana!
I'm kinda late but the only thing missing here is parkay. Out here in Chicago that's what they top it off with 🔥👌
I have had this. I am not a mayo person. However this is spot on for the taste buds. Heavy on the butter, light on the mayo top with lime spike. It is yum.
so, in the north of mexico actually, cream is used instead of mayo, so, it's a free recipe and country you know :P
GET THAT CORN OUTTA MA FACE
We just had elotes on Mother's Day. Delicious except my suegra doesn't put butter on them

ThePrankDudes it doesn't actually, we don't put butter in our esquites
Majo Rivera yea that's because that the cup of corn stuff. completely different recipe also street vendors in the shopping carts don't sell esquite, so that's also why its completely unrelated to the video and my comment.
ThePrankDudes que mamas, no se le pone mantequilla

Oooouuu my favorite food in the whole wide worldddd like if u agree 😊
HOLD UP. You're supposed to grill that shit, don't be a chumino! Also that's way too much mayo! AND WHERE'S THE GOD DAMN TAPATÍO?
Tapatio... you gotta be kidding.
I am Mexican, and elote is not well prepared that is not wearing butter
Pero igual y sabe bueno con mantequilla, no estaría mal probarlo a ver como queda no crees?
jfc it's just Mayo just deal with it. they can put as much Mayo as they want. This comment section is mostly about too much mayo. the Mayo is the best part of the whole thing. So drop it and move on with ur lives damn.
Zelber Wold some people even complaIn because the butter is melted.
I don't like corn but that looks really good!
If you want to have more flavor, you can put water plants such as spices or epazote, parsley, pepper, onion or things like that. changes the corn flavor and are better ;)
As soon as I saw her put the mayo all around I turned the video off
Mathilde Escusetoi then how did you comment? Did you "turn it back on"?
Oh fuck off. Mayo is amazing.
One of my friends mother used to sell this at my elementary school and she used to give it to us for free it was delicious 😋
I'd replace the mayo with Creame Cheese :3
Fragile As Glass that's not mexican😂
You are a monster.
Fragile As Glass david seymour would hate that

doesnt even need the mayo
Any substitute for chili lime salt and cotija cheese ?
Approved! Valentina instead of Tajin though
Ummm no. Whatever spread they used was not mayonesa.
Bro we put no melted butter but if you haven't tasted this you have tasted life just sayin.
This is similar to how we do it in Chicago. The main difference is that we use butter that is in a squeezable bottle and once we put the cheese on we will put the butter on top of the cheese. Some people will get the chili on it but for me I only get the mayonnaise cheese and butter on mine being I don’t care for very spicy food and from what I’ve heard the chili they use is very spicy. But it’s been a staple of my childhood during the Spring and Summer Time 😁😁😁😁.
Am I the only one that just put Tajin and lemon?
I'm Mexican, I live in Mexico and I've never seen elotes being prepared with butter... Also the corn we eat isn't yellow...
