Living next in a Amish community doesn't make you Amish, and it's kinda hard to fit in if you are driving a pickup around. If it came with an Amish Wife then you'd probably get a lot of interest 😸 Living without power for say washing and internet is quite hard, so the neighbours would have to be OK with a bunch of solar panels going up
That's true Pete - welcome to you making the move!!! and always remember to do business with the experts - us! 😀 Seriously, there aren't many Teams who do as much volume as we do --- and we speak your language - we are all transplants here (except our boys who were born here). 😀
Pretty little place. Of course I'd want to add electric and if it don't have indoor plumbing add that. But I like the idea of a peaceful Place. And with 8 acrs maybe a person would have abit of freedom if they wanted to own a couple animals. Maybe even a breed of dog that some cities don't seem to like cause the people running it are ignorant with stereotypes.

I take google earth trips during down time at work all around Kentucky, it's won me over. I'll definitely be a neighbor in the near future, can't get enough of this state. Appreciate the videos!

The Armish warsh their clothes, then they squarsh out the excess water... hahahha. I LOVE these dialects and colloquialisms... we would often hear this in NJ. I looked it up - you may find this interesting: The intrusive R in “warsh” is most commonly associated with a dialect of American English known as the Midland dialect. The exact boundaries of the Midland dialect region vary from study to study, but all the analyses agree that covers most of Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, and Missouri, as well as parts of Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, and Oklahoma. This is the region proposed in the “Atlas of North American English” by William Labov, Sharon Ash, and Charles Boberg. (1) Earlier studies have the region extending into western Pennsylvania, and the earliest ones have it covering all of Pennsylvania, plus some of Maryland and Virginia. Intrusive R can be found in all those areas. A “Washington Post” columnist in 2004 even wrote about hearing the pronunciation “Warshington” on a regular basis where he lived and worked. (2) Even so, it may be dying out. In some places, such as Missouri and western Pennsylvania, it tends to be used more by older speakers, and I’ve seen comments from speakers of Midland American English who don’t say “warsh,” and don’t know anyone who does.
Are you aware of the Amish people's practice when it comes to the heavy horse's they use out in the fields, day after day month after month and year in year out? They do not treat these massive gentle giants with love and respect. No, they work them to an early grave. ALL OF THEM!. EVERY SINGLE ONE. THAT'S THERE WAY. Then when these gentle giants are riddled with arthritis and other overworked ailments they sell them for dog food. It's true. I am 63 year's old and have always respected these people to the point of wishing I was born into an Amish family/community....NO MORE. just a little more vitamin's, better food and a veterinarian check once in a while and these beautiful big work horses could live longer happier pain free lives. They could be retired earlier. They don't do anything for them except expect a decent amount of money from the abbatoir. That is not a godly act, that's capitalism and cruelty.
You're trying to sell the Amish community and that's not how it works. Buying property in the area will not make a person Amish nor part of their community. It's just an off-grid property.
Interesting, didn’t know non Amish could live in Amish communities
Yup.
