I have found that when my cheap Dollar Tree broom bristles fray, that they pick up all the cat (I have three) fur, all my hair and more light stuff. When it's full of hair/fur I take it to the back yard and sweep it across the rough bark of my tree, or across the thick grass to clean it. Does a stellar job. When bristles are clean and slick, hair/fur has nothing to cling to. Just my observation.
I never knew a salt and vinegar mix would work as a cleaning agent. I used white vinegar to ckean with all the time but never thought of adding salt to it.
I always use a third vinegar and top up with water. Clean plant spray bottle, a micro cloth for windows and glass and mirrors.. Buff them over with a bit of kitchen paper at the finish.. Really fast, easy and cheap!!
So important to keep cleaning supplies CLEAN ! Besides manually removing dustbunnies, This is the best broom tool maintenance I have heard of so far. (At worse, around the time I do an automotive oil change) Thank you for the home remedy, my sinuses will thank you
How would you get the bristles all one length again? Seems like it would take alot of work to get it just right so your broom would stay flush in the floor.
Why would you ever want to trim the ends, other than just making it look new? When the ends become frayed the bristles go from a large one to many smaller ends that grab even more fine dirt particles. That's why an older broom is more effective at sweeping.
@@MicahFunk I think the person meant to cut off the ones that bend out and aren't really doing anything anymore. I know exactly what they mean as I can't stand when there's a bent one and then it makes sweeping into the pan harder.

Stanley was a home(party)rep product, in the 60s 70s maybe earlier, they recommened with their black Nylon bristle broom to always hang it. I've had mine for 50 yrs. Still looks good. Sweep your deck or sidewalk in snowy weather. That too cleans it. Lol
If you really want to clean your broom before you wash it take it outside and find something like an oak tree and sweep the broom on the trunk of the tree several times it will take all hair dirt and everything out of your broom like magic
Does this work with mops as well?
Love your enthusiasm
Does this make it go faster?
HA!! That broom is NOT dirty. LOL However, I do this with my brooms. It really works. :D
Your nails always look perfect!
Oh thank you!
Will cleaning vinegar work instead of white vinegar?
The tip was great.. but your nails looks amazing.. :)
Thank you! 😊
I wonder if this would work with paint brushes as well?
I used V05 shampoo and conditioner for my brooms split ends
Thank you, I will try that tonight 😊💕
Hope you enjoy
I just spray my off in the shower with the hand held option. I am not sure about all the salt. Residue on the broom and all. Just spray it off and let dry over night👍🤗
How about using a vacuum for all floors.
