I bought 2015 Forester 2.5i 6 months ago. Had 185k I drove 7k so far so good. It's great car gives good mileage but does burn half quarter oil every 3000 miles so I do keep one QT in my car too. I want this car to last 300k I am hoping it will.

Looks good! I have a silver 2016 6mt. I vinyl wrapped the center section of the grill, since it is the easiest to remove without potentially breaking anything. 3m satin finish. Takes care of most of that chrome. I also put on the factory "mudflaps" and exhaust tip in addition to the window guards.

Big issue with Subaru window deflectors is there is only a tinted version. I wish they offered transparent version too. One of the best things about Forester is visibility, why ruin it with tinted deflectors?
So I did next best thing: bought transparent deflectors from Climair. Rear ones are clipped in, but front ones go in channel. Really good quality, I've had them on my previous car too.

From watching your videos I have been able to gather a lot of knowledge about Subarus. I own same year Legacy, and my car EATS oil! Planning on redoing the whole front end of my car. Bumper, fog lamp covers, liners for the underbody and passenger fender (which rubbed on my tire after my March accident). I had to Bondo the rear passenger fender and rocker panel frame, as there was bubbling and major rust. Next project is getting a new oil pan (thanks for the tip in the Donut critique video) and oil pickup Tube. I’ve also been getting a code for my car, and it’s c0045 or something like that. From forums, it looks like the culprit is the rear driver side wheel speed sensor. I’m wondering if that’s the case or if it’s something else.

You'll get extra views if separate the video into multiples like. Window deflector install subaru, Moonroof deflector install, cross-bar install. Ive looked to videos like that a dozen times for our vehicles.
Btw i did deflectors in winter. A heat gun/blow dryer makes a miracle. Even in a warmer weather. Adhesive loves heat.

Interesting noise complaints stem from these cross bars. If those torx bolts aren't all super snugged down you'll get a noise that sounds a lot like percolating coffee.
I once spent 4 hours chasing the noise on a Crosstrek until I figured it out. I felt like a real idiot when I tightened one bolt and fixed it. 😅

HI, I HAVE A UNRELATED QUESTION. I HAVE A 2017 SUBARU FORESTER 2.5I TOURING 4WD, IT IS MY FIRST BUILD. I'VE STARTED ON THE EXTERIOR AND I'M ALMOST DONE AND WANT TO START LOOKING INTO UPGRADING THINGS UNDER THE HOOD. I HAVE A STOCK ENGINE NOTHING EXCITING. JUST WANTING SOME IDEAS OR RECOMMONDATIONS ON SOME PERFORMANCE UPGRADS. DECIDED TO AVOID THE TURBO ROUTE ALTHOUGH IT WOULD BE IDEAL FOR PERSONAL PREFERENCE BUT I FIGURE I'LL LOOK INTO TURBO ON A DIFFERENT VEHICLE AT A DIFFERENT TIME. RIGHT NOW I'M PRETTY OBSSESSED WITH MY "BRUCE" THAT IS HIS NAME VERY SIMULAR LOOKING TO THE ONE IN THIS VIDEO. THE BIGGEST THING I'VE DONE EXTERIOR WISE IS "BC COILOVERS" I'VE MAXED OUT THE COILOVER TO AS LOW AS THEY CAN GO AND I'M LOVING THE LOW LIFE AND THE NEW WHEELS. I AM "LOW & SLOW" AND THATS FINE BUT I AM CURIOUS ON SOME PERFORMANCE INHANCEMENTS FOR THE BEST LIFE OF MY SUBIE FIRST AND FORMOST BUT ALSO ANY KIND OF LITTLE BOOST IN PERFORMANCE WOULD BE NICE. I'M GETTING A LOT OF YES & NO ON SWAPPING MY STOCK INTAKE SO IM CURIOUS ON YOUR OPINION IF THERE IS A BETTER INTAKE THEN THE OEM THAT MIGHT BETTER THE CAR, MILEAGE, AIR FLOW ECT. OR IF KEEPING IT STOCK IS BETTER (IVE BEEN LOOKING AT COLD AIR INTAKES & THE PLUG & PLAYS) ALSO; IVE DONE A FULL TUNE UP; TRANNY MAINTANCE (@SUBARU) I KEEP UP ON THE BASIC maintenance, THINKING ABOUT REPLACING MY MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR, AND ANYTHING ELSE WORTH REPLACING TO JUST KEEP BRUCE RUNNING SMOOTHLY. I GOT BRUCE USED WITH 55K AND NOW HAVE 90K IT IS MY DAILY AND MY WEEKEND; LIKE I SAID IM OBSSESSED AND THE NEW LOOK FEELS LIKE I GOT A NEW CAR LOL ; I'M JUST A GIRL THAT LOVES MY CARS & MOTO'S AND I LIKE TO MAKE THEM UNIQUE AND KEEP THEM IN THE BEST SHAPE POSSIBLE AND PERFORMANCE IS ALWAYS A PLUS. PLEASE HELP LOL 😂 😂 ANY AND ALL INFO WOULD BE APPRECIATED. THANK YOU * LEI*

Great fully, the mechanic came out to where we were stranded and released the pressure in the ABS Pump which released the brakes and we were able to drive it to his shop. 😊"You're a better man than I, Gunga Din!" At my age (73), I can say: "Homey, use to do that (more or less) now and then but...Homey don't play dat anymore."
I have a 2004 Subie Forester X now for 20 years as of this month (9-2023). It's at 143K miles and many times in the past several years, I've thought of renewing my car ("Loretta" as I've called her since its beginnings...named in honor of one of my all-time favorite girl friends from the 1960's) but, figuring if I did...it would be $15,000.
Just within the past few months, I put in $5,000 in "necessary repairs" on some suspension parts, as well as new brakes. The car rides and sounds much better but there will be needed very soon, the value cover gasket replacement and new timing belt.
I guess for actually $20 K..."Loretta" would look fantastic! Put in a camera system and this car would be good for some years to come.

Shame - Shame Mr. Sub I can tell you were never into paint work. Wipe off all the gank before you put new trim on, and actually it should be waxed or sealed behind the trim. Love the content, now can you tell me why my piece of shit 12 Legacy with the cvt kills at a stop sign, with the slightest firm braking. I want to throw up because someone mentioned that was the most common sign the f-ing cvt is junk is that it kills on you. I have nursed this thing since new and with 133K on it i have put quite some effort into not 1 door dent. My car is in exceptional condition and I'm in Wi. with 0 rust on my car. Totally lied to by the dealership as to cvt servicing. Never needs a fluid change, never, never, never. Too late now, correct? A replacement would be finacially devastating for me.
