Thanks for making this video! my boyfriend recently got me into playing magic and this is my first deck. this video really helped me understand the mechanics of mirko!
I think mirko is more focused on the surveil mechanic, because also in the deck there are lots of surveil payoffs (like dimir spybug or whispering snitch). So for me mill doesn't match a lot with mirko, because if you don't surveil you don't put counters, and if you don't put counters you can't reanimate. But i liked the video don't get me wrong, i only wanted to say this :)
consuming abberation's ability is active in all zones, including the graveyard, meaning that in the mid/late game it'll be very hard to get it out of the yard with mirko, and once you do get it out its pretty much just a beat stick. im not sure all the mill cards youre adding are really worth it in general tbh, with mirko getting huge and bringing back other powerful creatures toy should just be able to out grind your opponent. the necrotic ooze package is pretty sick though, i like that a lot.
Hey. If I may I not sure you totally get the Mirko mechanic. He s more a voltron reanimator deck and absolutely not a mill deck. This is why I don’t agree on the card you add to the deck. I m ok with what you remove and don’t get me wrong your video is good it’s only the content
He added great cards to the deck the point isn’t to mill it’s to put creatures in the graveyard. And also for the win cons. From this comment you must not know what a win con is
removing dream eater even though it gives mirko 4/4 in a single card and then can be reanimated for a total of 8/8?.. idk. sure its high cost but when i play this deck i feel like getting this card really helps my board presence
You can. There usually is ten double sided tokens, but I don’t know what other tokens they included. You can use anything to represent the tokens. I get into the habit of collecting additional token cards to use, since my token decks have a lot of different token types to keep track of. Infinitokens is a good option too.
I just bought RR, and my fresh MTG Pod agreed on completely ignoring whatever the hell Visage's Case Solved perk does, because we had NO clue how to handle "creating copy tokens". And we are in general very confused regarding how Tokens interact with gameplay as a whole, we also got confused with Vizier and its Zombie Token related to "Embalm". Could I get an interaction example of how this'd work? Let's say for example I bring Unshakeable Tail to the battlefield. My ETB ability triggers and I surveil. Visage would let me surveil again, and then I place down a copy token to do..... what exactly? Is it just to keep track of the fact that it procc'd twice?

I took this deck, toned down the surveil mechanic to focus on mill/reanimate strategy using Phenax as my commander. And it's diabolical.
Just got the deck and just barely getting into Magic (coming from Yugioh). Could you share the deck list?

Wow, for a $40 precon this comes with a ton of fantastic and quite pricey black reprints!

I dont think thats how it works. I think it only counts as a 1/1 for mirko.
@@jk76111 oh rip
I don't get the clue creation. I only got one real clue token in the deck. Are we supposed to use dice or something?
