Since some of you ask for timestamps, here they are! Intro to the Commanders: 00:36 Best New Cards: 03:38 Best Reprints: 09:38 $20 of Upgrades: 14:39 Cards I cut: 19:39
Shout-out to sarinth steelseeker, seemed like a bulk card in the brothers war. Suddenly a year later with food and clues decks being much more popular the card is showing "when an artifact ETBs explore without the counter" is actually pretty busted
So I already have a "food & clues matter" deck (jenny flint & madame vastra, plays like the alternate commander in this deck), so I'm probably going to cut a decent amount of the clues cards like ulvenwald mysteries from this deck and focus it on card draw, also from clues but just in general too, so I'm going to include cards like frantic search and brainstorm, more ramp like cultivate and rampant growth, and more removal and evasion & protection for my boatd
I really like jaheira friend of the Forrest in this deck. Taping all the clues for mana is strong. I also like shorkai genesis engine as it helps get cards as well as chump blockers. Personally, I'm going to add maskwood Nexus and a few dogs and changlings and use the alternate commander for a dog type buff subtheme. Well see how it goes 😅
I guess that Nyssa of Traken could be an interesting adition! Since I've got the Dr who's blast from the past precon some months ago, I feel like its gonna fit like a glove
Maybe add jaheira and I would probably also look at alternative cuts like magnifying glass and ransom note. I feel like magnifying glass doesn’t really make sense if you’re making clues paying 4 mana and tapping it for 1 clue seems kinda sad and ransom note really only helps this deck by being a clue that also surveils one and has two other abilities not really useful for this deck might be missing something but I feel these make sense and jaheira might not be the craziest add but it lets clues tap for green and if anything adds another card that can make clues tap to pay for cards like inspiring statuary
Jaheira was a big contender early on in my add-ins. The big problem with her at the moment is her pricetag would've put me over my $20 limit. She is phenomenal in the deck, and if you can get her, absolutely add her in!
I kept Adrix and Nev and actually added Mondrak. I built it very focused on the clues (with ways to also take advantage of foods and treasures). In a way, its basically detective kindred since at least half the creatures are detectives and they all play very well with clue production and payoffs. I also added more ways to make creatures unblockable like Martha Jones and Senator Peacock, and a lot of protection spells like clever concealment, Galadriel's Dismissal, and Flawless Maneuver and a few more efficient counterspells to protect the boardstate when necessary. I added Urza, Lord High Artificer and Jaheira, Friend of the Forest as a an additional way to use the tokens. However, I ended up removing mechanized production because it never lasted a single round in any of the games I played it, so it seemed a waste of time and mana . Although, I might put it back in as a way to dupe opponents out of removal before a more impactful play. My main strategy is similar to yours: either voltroning Morska and making her unblockable, or overrunning the board via making all the token artifacts into creatures. So far, its proven to be very effective in the games I've played, and I often end up being the threat. The nice thing about Morska is that she's rather innocuous until she starts getting stacked with counters and becomes unblockable, so most people leave you be early while you put in your key pieces. I did put in a lot of the best card draw enchantments like Rhystic Study, Smuggler's Share and Trouble in pairs to guarantee getting to that second card draw on each turn, which is usually when every one decides that player removal is probably the best cours of action.
I have bought this precon and the deck is bothersome. It is a fun deck idea but it doesn’t feel like it has enough clear win lines. I have put about $50 in the deck. I am adding smothering tithe, rhystic study, cyc rift, heroic intervention.
I have no idea why I made that mistake. Thank you for pointing that out. We're going to pretend that was intentional and I just miss Sorin...fixed it in all but the video audio (oopsies).
@@PlaneswalkerProject This Markov/Karlov gaffe has been prolific across the player base. You are far from the first and won't be the last. Hell, I said it for days before realizing my mistake.

Great impression 😂

Out of all the upgrade videos I've seen, your's has fallen more in line with what i wanted to do with the deck.

Love the video! Though what music did you use?
It's called Ascending the Vale, by Kevin MacLeod.
Thanks!
Great Vid!

Agree seems hit or miss mostly miss
@@keithmahler4236 this has since become one of my favorite decks. I love it!
So proxying Velma and Scooby-Doo with this
Can you pay more than two mana and use more then one clue token on your turn to draw a card ?
So if you have multiple clue tokens in play, you can pay two mana for each of as many as you'd like to use to draw additional cards.
"Dogged" is pronounced "doggid" not "dog'd"
KARLOV*** Manor lol
