So don't slag him off if he slows down, like arse holes on this forum do, I've slowed down, just remember the pleasure and your youth was sculptured by this man!! I will remain a fucking fan until I expire, nuff
NO BAND WILL EVER EVEN COME CLOSE TO THE JAM. No group sounds like them live. No one ever penned lyrics like their frontman. No band ever played with such RAGE and HEART EVER.
good point, 'put your hands together for the best band in the fucking world...the jam' i love that quote, haven't used it yet at my age, though i think my dad would let me off
I was too young to love the Jam back in the day, I was 7 when they broke up in 82, but they are the band of my childhood and have a special place in my life. One of the greatest bands of them all.
If I am not mistaken, the older gentlemen who introduces the band is Paul Weller's Dad. Weller's Dad managed the band from their early days (when Paul was 15 years old).
He was a driving force literally behind The Jam and introduced every gig the same way ... i was lucky enough to see them live 5 times my favourite being Poole Arts Centre supported by The Vapours who Bruce Foxton managed and later played bass for. John Weller was a lovely man and used to let in hundreds of kids to watch their pre gig sound checks ... most of them had bunked off school to do so!
Fast tight Every string every chord. Every word. Is executed with meaning . Not just going through the motions and taking the money..( Gallagher bros ) And that drumming man...cluster bombs. JAM we Salute you.. UK.
What the hell can I say, well maybe that it's the best friggin Jam video of all time! When these 3 lads started out I imagine they could not conceive how HUGE they would become. i sure wish I had seen then at this show.
you can feel the energy from Paul Rick Bruce … Brit music was untouchable at this time.. talent shows were left at Huey Greens doors - back then you grafted to get famous and had to have talent. Cheryl Cole watch and take note. I saw them in Battersea town hall late 70s. Made my life …
So much energy ....fantastic ....still remember Loch Lomond festival 1980 where they headlined ....setting sons was and is the best album in my humble opinion ....👏👏
saw them 3 times and got to the the front each time - nothing like it anywhere else - 100s of pogoing fans who knew every word - no0 beer, no mobiles and no wankers talking over the band on stage
Gary Palmer M8 I think that the Jam r my 2nd favourite band 2nd only 2my favourite band i.e. the Human League. I love the B.side of this song ie The Butterfly Collector. And I often do my drum kit inpression 2this gr8 track among others. Paul Weller m8 I think that u r ACE 2me and u should hear my drum kit sound affect impression. Which sounds like the real thing. And is done by mouth alone 2my music on my i pod and it's self tault 2.From Paul Eyles. From Portsmouth
@@colingeddes2172 Yes I do but The Jam as a whole are.my ultimate band. Loved them for so long now. As I am that old 😊. Weller is just a cut above because of his song writing and everything he encapsulates staggers me. But he wouldn't be that man without Rick and Bruce! Nice to meet a fellow Jam fan Colin.. 😁
Don't give one but his latest efforts do not compare to the desire to convey power music such as this, therefore all that goes forward is dilute. The instruct that tags a person to 82 is superficial bullshit. If the jam finished in 82 then PW when did your raison de etre fade
They spoke for our generation, anger, rage, pure brilliance from three exceptional talents.
No band of this class will ever exist again,i grew up on this stuff and the memories never fade
Too true mate
no band compares. end of.
the best band ever in the fucking world
Karl - true. Sad but true.

Even listening to this day 6/14/24 and it’s still excellent to my ears
Nothing will come close to what this band meant..(and still does) to so many… thank you Bruce Rick & Paul.
All these old tunes are more relevant now these days then when they came out
NO BAND WILL EVER EVEN COME CLOSE TO THE JAM. No group sounds like them live. No one ever penned lyrics like their frontman. No band ever played with such RAGE and HEART EVER.
True 👍
The Jam remains as relevant as ever, one of the best bands to come out of England
Terribly ignored. The Jam are and will always be the greatest band of my life.
The Jam were ignored? Or just this video? They had 4 UK number ones.
Damn these boys are throwing off some serious hi-energy here...The Jam were a very special band indeed! :)
Seen them multiple times, plenty of stories for the grandchildren,
OH MY GOD! This is the greatest music I have ever heard in my life!
Chris....great comment, that was exactly how I felt back in 1978....and the good news is that I still feel the same about it now.
@@martinberry3271 Thanks Martin. All the best and KTF.

The best band in the fucking world. Ever.
What memories this brings back, took it all for granted at the time.

Power music with guts that will forever be etched into a generation.

Still amazing after many years…will there ever be another trio like the Jam? Paul, Bruce and Rick were untouchable. Thanks for posting this video.

Now that is the way to start a concert!
Superb mix of Wellers lyrics, brilliant drumming and Bruce's driving bass... special mix
Absolutely one of the best groups to ever do it.
My God I still have the Jam running through my veins.
Went to see From The Jam a few years ago, they sounded more like the Jam than Paul does.
The best The jam

Not only the greatest band in the world my greatest night
I was by the left hand pillar directly opposite Bruce.
Fucking brilliant

Weller!
Fucking amazing
totally fuckin epic!
Has there ever been a bigger band ? Yes , has there ever been a better band ? NO.
Boss
Great tune. Weller has sussed the look!!
Foxton should do an Andy Summers legal move on Weller. His harmonies and bass lines defined and elevated the songs so much.
Best
I saw them on this tour (aged 12 I think) at the Showerings Pavilion in Shepton Mallet. Where was this shot?
Only 432 “thumbs up” what a shame.
Yo❤
I wish they would get back together the best
best band in the world, he split them up just after this and nicked all the money.
Really? 🤔
Weller is a Shakespearian genius.........
Eh corrine, i think u love weller more than i do, so kudos to u. The man is a genius, but i loved bruce and rick too, still do.

Pity they used to SPREAD OUT too much on those BIG stages. Had they stuck together they would have had more effect (LIVE and on film).
the dogs bollocks untouchable
Can definitely hear how Blur was influenced by this.
I am sure that is Weller's old man...
it is...
The late great John Weller
@joydivision808 He was fucking right!
Mod for it

The drum set looks like a wolf at 2:12, haha.
@Wilipeidia Barely hear the words??????? Whats wrong with you? Clear as day.
After Paul breaking up the Jam, he might as well completely stopped making records. He was nothing without the other 2.
