  • Welcome to Cookie's Critters. In todays Tutorial we explain how to setup your "Get Your Pet Right" Thermostat/Hygrostat.
    The GYPR thermostat is a 3 socket thermostat that measures both heat and humidity, It has a temperature range between 20-50 degrees Celsius, a humidity range between 20-90% and a maximum 1200 watt capacity.
    The thermostat has 8 on/off timers for greater control of your enclosure.
    While this unit measures humidity, it is not essential for bearded dragons enclosures. The humidity socket and sensor is more suited to high humidity reptiles.
    We are reptile breeders in Western Sydney and this channel is to educate our customers and followers. The reptiles that we breed are Central Bearded Dragons, Pygmy Bearded dragons, Knob tail geckos, and Northern Velvet Geckos.
    In the future our expansion will include Blue tongue skink morphs, carpet pythons and green tree pythons.

    Awesome tutorial.
    Apparently this exact item is sold by lots of different dealers around the world (I got mine from the Netherlands), all with their own brand name.
    But, the device is identical.
    Thanks to this vid I don't have to bother with the rather spartan paper manual.
    The manufacturer should be paying you for the exposure of their product AND making it easy to use right out of the box ^^
    I literally unpacked it 15 min. ago and just set it up while watching and pausing this vid ... and it's now up and running ^^

    Hey mate. Do you know how to turn the back light on for the control panel?
    Cheers

    • @timothyds7453
      @timothyds7453 2 года назад +1

      There is a switch on the back of the control panel that you can slide in the 'on/off' position and that's used to control the backlight.
      It's the only one on the entire device.

    Hi!
    Can you run 3 tanks off that one thermostat if all 3 tanks have the same type of reptile in there. I have a 3 bay enclosure and just trying to figure out how to set my thermostats up so there aren’t wires everywhere so it looks a bit neater and isn’t so confusing. Ive been told you can sometimes run 3 tanks of the one thermostat if all tanks have the same requirements?

    • @CookiesCritters
      @CookiesCritters  3 года назад +1

      Hi Sophie. If you are using 1 thermostat for a 3 bay enclosure there will be inconsistencies with the temperature gradient. For example, if you have the probe in the middle enclosure it will be spot on but the enclosure above will be hotter and the enclosure below will be cooler.
      This is created by 2 factors:
      1. The light in the lowest enclosure will radiate heat upwards affecting the enclosure above. Same with the middle enclosure light radiating heat into the top enclosure.
      2. The room has its own temperature gradient with the cool air being down low and the hot air rising
      We recommend 1 thermostat for each enclosure.

    I’m trying to set up the CHE on the third plug but the time will only go up to 23:59:59 when I set the start time at 19:00:00 am I doing something wrong?

    • @CookiesCritters
      @CookiesCritters  2 года назад

      If you only want the CHE on at night do the following.
      Time on = 00:00:00
      Time off = 07:00:00
      This allows for the midnight to morning.
      Time on = 19:00:00
      Time off = 23:59:59
      This covers the night start to mid night.

    How do you turn the backlight for the screen back on? Accidentally turned it off. Thanks.

    • @CookiesCritters
      @CookiesCritters  2 года назад

      If no display is being showed, it isn’t from something that you have done. Some thermostats have a fuse or a reset button where the lights get plugged into. You could try this first, otherwise I’m concerned that the display may have failed.

    Hi mate, my female bearded dragon is around year 1 year and a half and I'm wondering which month do I change the temperature to drop. I'm located at Sydney and im noticing she always pretty much goes to the cool area. My temperature on the hot side is 30deg and basking is around 38
    Cool side around 27 degrees. I do put her in the sun in the morning for an hour if that helps. She stop basking starting from this month. Is it because she gets all her heat from the morning sun . Thanks mate

    • @CookiesCritters
      @CookiesCritters  3 года назад

      Hi mate. This time of year, bearded dragons will start to brumate. When they start to cool they will spend most of their time in their hide or on the cool side.
      Do you measure your basking spot with an infrared temperature gun?

    Hi there, it only shows set2and 3 of each channel I set and I have no idea to get it back. I tried setting the first one 7am, second one 7pm then rest of them 7pm. It showed set 1 and 2 again but I am worried is it gonna turn on at 7pm next day and off at 7pm another day which is 24 hours and never get back to 7am?

    • @CookiesCritters

      If you are concerned that you have set it up wrong. You can disconnect the power and remove and reinstall the battery in the LCD display. That will wipe the memory and you can start again.

      Means humidity is very low, would recommend spraying misty water around the tank as it boosts the humidity back up for a while
