Asking for money is a big " red flag"...that's old game..
Jermaine Jones Yep! It’s the number 1 red flag 💯
Yes agreed... i have a friend now that's getting scammed but he listen.. Already sent about $4000 to a stranger... never meet this person. She sent him her supposedly hesitance check but she keep begging him for money.. why send her "check"when she seems to needy
Three times I was asked for money
Three times I didn't do it.
These scammers do this at the last moment when they think they have your total trust.
So ....
How does a person know which dating apps/sites have scammers
And which ones don't.....
My guess,, you don't
Until they give you a sad story about aunt Martha's 5th level cancer, or, grandma's leg going to be amputated (again) or
They themselves have 500 things wrong with them, and their insurance ran out or something like that.
How doya know???
What if he asked me to invest on bitcoin? I didn't invest anything because i'm afraid, maybe it's a scam....
The moment I see gift card. It's a instant block
It's sad, you really can't trust anybody
Well, you can't trust anyone online that ask for money & other things, when you never met that person.
so sad
my husband is hot yes same here
Have to be so careful I got burnt I was so angry with myself for being so stupid luckily there was an agency involved that monitored the sites I put up scammer alert and they cancelled the new site I was joined up to by scammer felt sad and angry.
Tony woodham, how do you deal about that?did you still try some dating sites?
Scams can happen with offline dating experiences as well.
Yes 👍
something I can't stand about online dating, is that when someone responds to your initial message, they will chit-chat with you for a bit, but then when you ask them out, attempt to set up or plan a date with them, they no longer respond, it's like, okay, if you were not interested in me, why did you bother responding to my initial message?
initiatorhater0688 because they get bored
Because you went straight to the point that they want they were planning to scam you that's it!!!
Becky Petit it’s that or they’ll ask you for money
Sometimes the person is married or in a relationship.
I agree they are talking to 100 other people most likely scammers see I'm street smart. I been around hustlers. Also do phone reverse search and white pages. Search their name. It will give address and age.
Online scammers regardless of gender are obviously awful and they needs to be put in prison.
If the woman isn't living near me where we can meet, then I just forget it and move, never mind the money part.
It’s doesn’t matter how far . I got scam in person for 125 her job is next to my job. Women wants to hurt us bro
Sadly to say that I was scammed by this guy in SayHi site he was very convincing I asked him to take a picture of himself with my name and today's date it looked so real that I fall for it.he had answer to every question i asked him. What ever I was ganna send him I was ganna get it back with interest. And I found more pictures of the same person at the same site. I found few more guys in that site same scammers most of the pictures were military men. :( so be careful please every thing she said are all true. If they say I love you in a few days run away from them. They know how to play with emotions and gergous images :(
Yeah kinda of the same for me. I asked this girl to take a picture holding my name up and she got offensive with me on why she should do that and I dont trust her enough.
I know. Me too. This one contacted me on Instagram. Checked with them and surprisingly they said his profile is real. Of course conversation goes on, and in three weeks, he starts asking me money to help pay for his package stuck in customs. Lol.. I was wary to begin with, and with this, essentially gave him the flip, deleted chat app he asked me to download and never spoke to him again
If the man is too handsome than it's most likely a scam.
one key is dont give $ and make sure they know Jesus as their savior and best friend
I meet some women from say hi site too and all the women ask for gift card only. I lost so much money already.
Online dating is purely a playground for those 5% top most beautiful lazy people. It is purely visual and lust driven. For the remaining normal people it's hostile cold and soul destroying. Women do not operate like that. Its hard enough face to face. How the hell are you gonna get results when you can't even see or hear the person. Utterly hopless. A con. End of.
I've never had problems with dating or getting girls, I'm a young dude. I've only met one person on dating site, the rest is absolutely hopeless. I just don't use it for that reason. My personality shines more when not behind a keyboard...
Apollonia one thing I get from your videos is how big of heart you have for people. We need more people in the world like you.
Thank you for being so kind and caring to others.
Hi Walter,
It means a lot that you commented but even more that you notice I do this from the bottom of my heart. It's my passion! :)
Best,
Apollonia
@@ApolloniaPonti most of them on dating sites say that hookup I'd is a must which should be collected and it requires us to pay online 300 euro and it will be refunded through account or western union or they ask to fill the form and give your bank card details. All of these look like scam? Is any such I'd required for dating in Europe.
Thank you very much for making this video. I was scammed online.
The scammer got me for 350 $ The funny thing was after they got the 350 they immediately asked me for 2,345 $. Thats what it took for me to realize I was being scammed. She said she said she was American but spoke with a foreign accent. There were so many red flags. But I wanted to believe her.
Hi Eric, thanks for your comment. Im currently talking to a American who has a foreign accent i think its espanol, its been 3 months since i first spoke to her only spoke to her 3 times she's has asked me for $500 each time we've spoken, for a course she needs help with, the last time was today is why im on this site. Deep down i feel its a scam, she's told me her sugar but i think her heart is venom. Might be the same person. Im curious.
We've been messaging every day. But spoke only 3 times
I've paid nothing
You will meet a better person soon take care ok
@@owengoldsmith4767 am a lady and I know how you feel. Giving a lady money is not bad, but she trying to scam you is really wrong.
My online “girlfriend” recently asked for a gift card so she “wouldn’t miss her zoology assignment” I showered her with questions, she tried making me feel guilty for questioning her, but I didn’t care and kept asking her questions which she couldn’t give a straight answer to. I had a feeling she was only in me for money so I broke up with her. I’m so glad I never bought her that gift card!
I mean, how does having a gift card prevent someone from losing an assignment? Lol
I got asked the same thing.. I even tried thinking differently, like maybe this would work.
I have grown VERY tired of the online dating scene. I'm an older man and now I am beginning to realize why I'm getting so many scammers trying to steal my money. Also, and this is from my experience. Try and ask up front if they'll call you. Most scammers will not. Instead they only want to text. HUGE warning sign!. There are some that will call you but try and listen to thier voice. Usually it sounds like they're calling from outside the country, and the line sounds terrible.
me too , it,s very difficult
I just got scammed. They FaceTimed me and everything seemed legit . She started undressing, and asking if I would too. I did. She was 25 and it was all mutual. We had legitimate conversations before this. She then sent me a screen recording of us with no clothes on. She said I have to send her 500$ or she’ll send the video to all of my family members.. I did not send her the money because I didn’t do anything wrong . She didn’t send the video out .
but how u get scam u never give her the money?
me too, the girl I talk to threaten to send all my nudes to my family and friends on Facebook but I just block her on Facebook and that was the end of it
Yup just happened to me too on ok cupud that lead to Skype. I didn't send her anything just blocked and deleted everything as soon as they sent a message to black mail me. I'm ashamed I'm normally pretty good at spoting these things. But I called the cops and they said they don't take reports if you didn't actually fall for anything. I doubt anything will happen but i'm going to keep an eye on it just in case
This happened to me too via Messenger a couple months ago but I didn't send any money at least
I put photos of myself on a website, thankfully it was just me in a sweater and shorts and nikes. whew. when I paid for a subcription they charged me $100 extra and thankfully my bank cancelled it. I don't know if I can trust anything online. dang. even on tinder, my first chat ended up asking me for money. ughhh. its only been a day. meh. So Im going to avoid transactions of any kind from now on online, and definitely keep photos plain. And meeting in person to continue a conversation.
If you're on a dating site, and during your chats, within a few days, you get asked for money,. That's the "RED FLAG"
Good morning Apollonia;) Happy Friday. I'm not a fan of online dating. Due to the seem to be fake profiles and automated bots.
Amen brother
Anyone that asks for money or gift cards is a total scam .
Sad how some people fall for these scams. I'm older and have been widowed for two years. I've been hit on with these scammers already.
I always resist at the money request, but I have an unusual kink and all my dating efforts seem to only attract these scammers.
Be careful when you do things by finding love. Scamming people like me is illegal, and nobody cares. If it’s a real person, we’ll be fine. If not, it’s a scammer. I just hate scammers.
Verry good interesting video
Hi iam scammed 3 years ago with online dating and i have learned a lot from my mistake
You are on point...don't trust outside the country...anybody from Ghana, west Africa. They will be all into you n then they ask a favor...can i use your bank account to wire money from places...all scams
Dont think they Ghanaian most are Nigerians using Ghana as destination to dupe people
@@frederickafrifa2569 They are mostly Ghanians these days. The look, name and location, whatsapp number and accent are the clues
These really help a lot ...but how sad to know that there is a lot of scammers out there...and ruin the life of that person that really looking for real partners for life...
I got scammed out of $700 from a scammer online, i will never send money to females I never met before in person, i tell those girls get a job!
Scamming goes both ways! Yes, please never send anyone money that you have never met. Thank you for sharing
Meeting a great match online is like searching for a hay in a needle stack.
I think you mean it the other way around
Haha! That’s hard, awfully painful and torture! I’ll prefer looking for a needle in haystack then. It’s difficult but at least not painful 😂
juntjoo nunya I think you’re slow he said it right
There made to you to use as much presious time as possible for them; time=money
@port nut Same thing happened to me. 3.5 years of bliss and then he turned into the Exorcist.
Pof (plenty of filth). Yes, scammers! I've dealt with 2 in the past. I'll never get on it again!!! Great video. I lucked up on Bumble. Didn't find love persay, but found a really great friend and we've been hanging out. Hey, its something positive and fun (and he insists on paying everytime we go out, unless I force him to let me lol).
I had a scammer that wanted me to give her an Xbox gift card, 'cause she was addicted to Xbox. And her reason for her addiction was because her director wanted her to get in bed with him, but she refused, and she got fired from her modelling job. Now, that's what I call bullcrap!
She is describing exactly what I went through, to the point of bankruptcy. I was hooked in a major way. I literally shoveled money to this goon and his cohorts; desperate phone calls; very poor English. I became desperate to recover my money, so kept getting hooked. The FBI, my state Senator, the police dept. (one woman officer practically laughed at me), no one would help. I truly could write a book about this. Watch out!!!!
Also on Twitter, but they want to communicate with you through hangouts
Really!? I never heard of this! Interesting.
@@ApolloniaPonti you are very smart and sexy guess you have italian's origin but do you know you are needy and you dont know it . I notice something of abundance more u get comments and less you reply and less you get comments and more you reply. So neediness depend of to be" rich or poor"
Hangout. Big red flag
Oh, Tom. People will forever make accusations but I am one person running a business. I comment when I find the time. Might not get to all the comments but I know my heart is in it for the right reasons. Wishing you the best.
@@ApolloniaPonti Is true. I don't use Twitter for dating. And then all of the sudden I get these "girls" trying to get to know me, in the end they end up asking for gift cards, make up a story such as their phone is broken or how broke they are and need assistance because of their supposedly child needs. Same story over and over again.
If anyone ask to send you money 🚫 them. Never talk to them again.
I recall a few times I ask for a video call, and notice that the video wasn't in real time. Your conversation doesn't match at all...Red Flag!!!!
Thanks Dating Wisdom Queen you are on point and love the details not scared off but thanks for added Knowledge, I have half trust any way takes a while too break my wall it's me seeing their soul and spirit
“That just sounds like *catfishing* with extra steps...” 😂
Great video Apollonia. A really important topic to highlight. Thanks for sharing this advice, i'm sure it will help a lot of people .
Thank you Dal!
Yes 👍 thank you
Really great video. Thank you so much for making this video. I just joined Our Time a week ago. Was married for 26 years on my own for the past 3 years. You are spot on with your info about them wanting email or text numbers. I am going to stop my account and just be happy playing guitar and driving my classis cars. Don't have to worry about scams there. Thanks again you really helped me
You are welcome! So glad you are here!
They will also ask for credit card numbers or bank account info.
Good day really liked the video, I was recently involved in me getting scammed for 140 bucks, I was dumb and believed it, well lesson learnt, where I’m short to fill in these steps I get a I.D protection pass or something and everyone on this site were saying do you have one or we can’t meet stuff like that, but anyways which involved me filling my bank details out and it said free sign up, now what happened was you fill you details out and well I worked out that each time you did that it took 60 or so bucks out, then I contacted the admin and he says oh you have to complete all the steps and you will get it back which wasn’t true
I gave up on the online dating sites, it is cheaper to be put down etc etc in person. Most sites cost 20.00 or more per month .
There are more models on PoF than regular member who copy & paste on their profile= pro-fakes.
Good video htting on the soft spots for scammers! The internet is a playground for scams!
A lot of them use "Text Now" to text you.
Learned that lesson the hard way
I'm a victim online dating scams I been crying it scares me I'm reaching out for help
Im not sending money. I just tell them bye Felicia lol
Very much A good source of information
Many many thanks
Hello how are you doing
@@ApolloniaPonti someone asked me to send money using gift cards so i refuse to send it to protect my money
I love the snapshot scene. They gonna ask for scam Info
Lol they make up fake stories saying that they lost their parents in a accident
I get my aunt's dying, i need money.
name a excuse they'll use it.
Steve Sibaja Exactly like have a child/children and says that mom or dad has passed and that they need a stepmom/dad I have met some catfishes (not in person) but boy the things they say like they say dear and fall in love with you in like the next day or something like that & ask for money
You have to assume all dating sites have scammers these days.
Meetme has a lot of scammers it’s a dating app my aunt got scammed scammers always put a profile picture of somebody else and it’s not actually them they’re really insecure about themselves
yep Exactly I been on there and that site is a waste of time too I deleted my profile there and never looking and going back.
I'm victim of scam dating sight
What is the scam if someone wants to come and visit you from another country??
Asking for your bank account number and that's a huge Warning
Hi Adrienne,
Please be caution with men asking you for personal information, like you bank account. There are a lot of scammers out there and they are good/professional. Especially someone you are just getting to know.
Best,
Apollonia
If a girl who interacts with me only through phone, i.e., through calls and text and doesn't share her age or pictures with me saying that she is uncomfortable, but is still claiming to be a good friend of mine and also tries to prove many a times, I sense something fishy about it. Why would someone who you interact on a daily basis, refrain from sharing their pics and age? Especially when it has been established that we are just friends and nothing more.
Have you seen her face to face? You met online?
I have bin chatting with this online girl from Texas for about 3 months and the last few weeks she has bin pressing me to open a bank account for her in my country Canada and want to send me money. Then said to that if she needed some more money I could transfer it to her for her business.. I have never seen or talked to her just texting and she says she loves me etc ...am I being scammed!?
I wouldn't trust her, I'm being scammed at this very moment. I'm so angry and frustrated with myself. don't let it happen to you
I was just scammed while online dating from Cuba. This really sux although I only sent $150 I still feel ashamed for what I did.
Mary Michael hi
This is fact. IG Facebook dating apps they’re all out there. Numerous people have tried but have been unsuccessful. They will try to befriend you and next ask for gift cards. Speaking from experience. Beware fellas don’t fall for the okie doke. 🤦🏿♂️Love your content Apollonia and keep doing your thing.....
Thank you, Toby! My best friend in high school name was Toby. :)
Here is what I've experienced on date sites:. Kenyancupid, Afrocupid, etc. This is how they get you. 1) they have a system that recycle FB pictures. 2) they show interest, then get you off the original site to either WhatsApp, Skype, etc. 3). They will tell you to ONLY talk to them. 4). They will send you pictures, but most say they can't do video or voice messages. 5). They will chat for a day or two, then give you the sad story; they need funds for airtime, or their parents are sick. 6) once you tell them you can't or will not send funds, they will go to the next person to scam, and remove their profile. Oh, and they will ask you to let them know about you. That's because they don't read your profile. 7). When as to do certain things to verify them, they will have an excuse. Ask them to take a selfie of them hold certain things, or photo a hand or foot. 8). But I've never had problems with women from Kenya. Just Ghana and Nigeria manly... Ghana is the worst though.
I quit online dating sites along time ago I got scammed many times for money everyone should be careful when they decide to do that and has the right to decide for them selves whether they want to give money to a person or not and careful in clubs because it's the same thing when you go outside.
What I have encountered with scammers is they will ask for iTunes cards because they need to update their phone or video.
What do they do with these cards bdodsreturn them or trade them for cash
Thanks for the info, very helpful! More power to your station.
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you for addressing this topic. It is very timely for those just getting going again. You are right, there aren't many who are addressing this topic. Again, thank you.
Thank you for your input. I've been before online
Thank you reason why I don't do online dating anymore 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿 too many bots
Helen Keller could pick up on these scammers
Hello
Iwas stress after l watch your video l feel relaxed 😘😘
I just got one, and the time stamp is for tomorrow, so clearly it's a different time zone, and she told me she lived near me
Hmm... I have poor luck with these things, but I always get asked for gift cards, iTunes card or some phone code to verify...my questions never get a proper response... I'm guessing that they just don't won't
Very informative video! Thanks for making it so clear 😊 excellent work!
I haven't lost any money, but I've definitely fallen for a few a catfishes. They seem nice and then they ask you to sign up for sites, or to give them money. Don't go to any of these sites, theyre trying to steal your information. Catfishes are pretty abundant everywhere online.
Some asking me first gift card for he’s son .next he’s son car accident and this is big shipping package worth of $2,980 to 1,490 but I can’t give that because I never have money.hes said to he’s a military person thank you for show this
Thanks dear that was a very nice video thank you for trying to help us, but all guys never understand that
Impossible for scammer to have a video call with you
Yah that's the acid test, had I knew this I would have saved my thousands of dollars
Nope, she's just good at her scam.
One way to avoid being in a relationship scam, be aro ace.
If their in America, just ask them to video chat...I bet they say "My cam is spoiled, yes both of them, send me money/gift card to fix it". When in your area. I say that it was freezing when it was hot or rainy when beautiful out. If they say nothing or agree, then gotcha. Don't ask things that they can google to find out. if from Florida, ask if they like "Bears, Dolphins or Lions"? They do not know American football that well. Their favorite football team is Manchester United. "Send me money for ticket to come to you", I say "give me your name and address so I can have your ticket waiting at the Airport...you get a lot of excuses on that one. Soooo many, SMH
GREAT VIDEO! thank you so much for this information, I was almost scammed for a steem game card
Wise words. But the world has changed lady.
Thanks Apollonia, this was very helpful 🤗👍
I remember being on Tinder one day I had arranged to go on a date with someone. Two days before the date she asked me of all things holy for me to give £1200 for a holiday to go on together despite not meeting her yet. In response I told her the date was off, I reported her to the site as a malicious user and that she could go to hell. Never give anyone money anyone who does is an idiot. Beware.
Hahahahaha when it comes to my money there never be a relationship or dating or date I am allready in Love with my money
I’ve had plenty of women ask me to buy gift cards. I say right in my bio not to ask me for that but they don’t bother reading the bio.
YES APOLLONIA GOOD VIDEO ON ONLINE DATING SCAMS. I HAVE HAD MY SHARE OF THEM AND THEY DO THE EXACT THING YOU HAVE MENTIONED. CAN YOU GIVE ME SOME GOOD DATING SITES THAT MORE OR LESS DON'T HAVE TO MANY SCAMMERS ON THEM APOLLONIA?
Hi Jane,
You will always find scammers. It's just about being smart online. Just like you are always at risk when you walk outside you just have to be aware. The apps I like are OkCupid, Bumble, and Zoosk. Good luck!
Jane Adams you are right 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Jane Adams send me friends request on Facebook musa Diego costa George or WhatsApp number +393510970484
No such dating site exist, so don't look for something that doesn't exist. All you have to do is be careful and alert for the blood red flags. On every dating site there are scammers hovering like vultures on pretty old woman like you
The email scammer is old school. Most of the scammers actually meet you. The modern scammer is miles ahead of this.
I know, that personals site Luvfree is only with real people.
This happens to me a lot, thanks for this
This video is very helpful I witness someone who just asked me for money tonight. We was supposed to meet for dinner, but at the very last minute there was a sudden change. She tells me she can not make it because her dad drove car to the Doctor and there was no gas left in her vehicle. She asked me to cash app her money. I was like no I am not doing that to many scams. Thanks alot for this video I will be watching more.
The scammer can do everything you want but he will not have a video call with you ?
Or he dropped his Android and broke it
Whether you're a man or woman if you're being scammed on a dating site then you should not be on one at all. The secret to dating or meeting new people. Very simple smiling, eye contact, politeness. Trust me go to a store and do a little shopping. You see a woman walking past you smile make eye contact and just say good morning. If she has an interest she'll take the time to talk to you. If she doesn't there's 236536000 thousand women out there. It's that simple
Thanks so much for this! I consider myself a pro at detecting fake profiles. Do any of them send fake videos? In other words video of the same person in pic saying they are real? At this point they refuse to talk to you on the phone or video chat or send any more videos. I’m curious if they pay people to record videos for them or something.
Thanks u saved me a lot of money
Great to hear!
Thank you so much for your awareness video on such a critical topic. Really a Must watch video
Thanks for your comment.
I was almost a victim of a scammer on Facebook twice, so I had no choice but to block this person myself cause She/he was asking me for funds for calling cards. Yes, this person I found out thanks to my Care Provider who did research on was trying to get at my money. Also we found out that the pictures of this particular woman on Facebook were hijacked from eHarmony because she doesn't look like she lives in the location this person says.
all these dating sites should banned other countries to use them that wsy it will prevent scammers
That happen to me just now this grill asking. me for i Tune card thank you very much for your tips
This is where it starts with the ITUNE cards. Don't do it!
That happened to me earlier this month. Thankfully enough red flags went up, that I finally realized it was a scam and blocked the number and deleted the texts.
Twitter is full of them
I’m pretty sure I did not meet a woman who can love me but scam me for every dollar I’m worth; she got me for a couple hundred dollars in MeetMe credits which isn’t too bad as it hasn’t breached the thousand dollar mark; I am guilty of expressing love but I really did feel that way; she hinted at needing money but got upset if I brought up the possibility I was being lied to; now I’m at a crossroad about believing if she loves me or she is after what money she can get; it was only one time but she asks again that may be it.
The internet killed being social
You deserve love!.... What a load of crap!
What I advise men do is to find out the male to female ration before joining. Some of these sites have as high as a 70% M/F ration. Then add on the 80/20 rule, 20% of the guys will get the majority of responses. When you do the numbers it is just not worth it for most guys.
All they want is Amazon card. A steam card a steam Wallet card Pay the bills. Pay the phones. That's what they all they want. I've been to a lot of girls. I needed that once those.
I'm in Cairo, Egypt and can't call you unless I pay with Amazon or iTunes gift card. LOL Did I mention she has $6,500 in cash? lol don't do it!!!!! lol Listen to your guardian Angel.
She gets to the point at 2:44
I have found a guy in dating sites.he told me he is an american soldier.but dont have any social media account aside from his google account.he gave me his address and tel.no. but i dont know if that tel.no. and address is still exist.
He never ask me about money, but the picture he sending me is 2 different person.
So i decided to stop communicating to him ..
Thank you so much and God bless
