What I absolutely love about the English version is how his voice changes from a 'villian' to a 'storyteller' a sentence after another. The raspy voice in his "your"s are enough for me to replay his part several times. Also, the Italian version sounds so smooth and mysterious
The little growl with 'Seven', the raspy 'name', and the youthful, playful, yet dark tone is too perfect for Camilo. English is my favorite by far.

I don't know why this needs to be said lol. The animation is literally modeled around the English VA's delivery and inflection, of course it's gonna be the "best".

For the French one they had to change "It all fades to black" to "C'est pas de chance pour toi" which is a very childish and playful way to say that you're not lucky or that you have bad luck (if Bruno calls your name) and it TOTALLY fits Camilo's character and whole personality! It makes me want to watch the movie in French. I love that even with the changes in the lyrics the energy stays the same.
I love your comment about Camilo being childish and playful, i'm a french native so I highly recommend you to watch the vf (I watch it two times and I still think it's super cool). I personally think that in all the song the lyrics feat very well with the characters ! (Sorry if I made mistakes I still learn English...😅)
Generally, French dubbing for Disney's movie is very good and most specifically for the songs because they know that french viewers want to watch a good movie and hear good songs too. But, indeed, watch this movie because the choice of dubbers for the characters is really relevant in French and songs are great !
I'm so glad the french version truned out so great tbh! Hearing this song in french for the first time made me fall instantly for Camillo's character!! You should totaly watch the french version of the film^^

Dutch, Flemish, Finnish, Korean, French, Norwegian, Italian, Russian, POLISH‼‼, Latin American Spanish and Japanese would have to be my favourites.
Side Note: The Japanese and Polish voices for Camilo are literally perfect but I really like Camilo's voice for the Japanese adaptation in particular. The voice fits well with the character, not just in the parts where he's singing but the entire as a whole.
Out of all I think the ones who fit Camilo's character the best is Japanese, Polish, Norwegian and Korean. Exceptional job from all of the rest who weren't mentioned as well!
Polish and French really showed Camilo's character and his personality, both great and matching voices.
Fun fact: in brazil, the translation want really right, then at the “7 foot frame rats along his back” he says something like “lives in the basement” so yeah, brazilian camilo knows, BUT ONLY BRAZILIAN CAMILO
A lot of languages tried to stay close to the original. I speak Japanese (not fluent and am a native English speaker). He says this:

It certainly is appreciable how the team has selected these singers. I mean their voices sound so similar. It's as if they have selected people after so much research or maybe it's coz of some technology involved to make it sound similar.
None of these can come anywhere near the English version for me. The way he sings, pronounces the words, the performance in his voice… just absolutely perfect.
I love the Latin American Spanish version just a tad bit more, though the English one is awesome too! And I now officially love the Danish and Thai versions too.
There’s something about the english version I really like that all the others are missing, and it’s how he sings “when he call’s your name”, I don’t know how to explain the feeling he gives but it’s very unique and has a lot of character
I thought that was just me!

Exactly. You can really tell that he's just doing this to mess with his cousin in the English version. The other languages seemed to focus on sounding mysterious for the most part. Which, is accurate, but not the full story.

My ranking for top five:

I’m learning French currently and French, Spanish and English are my top favorites, Japanese sounds quite good too though
It was interesting to me how each language interpreted the “no no no” as part of Bruno, or if they actually translated it to No in their language.
Fun fact: «но» (no) in Russian actually means “but”. So there’s a pun in “We don’t talk about Bruno… But!”, that sounds like “Ne upominay Bruno… No!” xD.
In Hindi "No" is actually pronounced "Naa", so they instead translated it as "don't take the name Bruno" where "take" is the last word, the Hindi "Lo". There's a "Naa Naa" in the background sometimes but otherwise it's pretty much "don't take take take the name Bruno" lol.

Even though I'm an English speaker, there is something magical about the Spanish version. It's like...the perfect levels of playful but creepy. It's also a higher pitched voice compared to a lot of the others, and I like that. English and Spanish are probably tied for me though, the way "SEVEN. FOOT. FRAME." is just a very sudden, stark jump from Dolores' part is just great. But I'm biased. I speak English haha. But both of them hit the right sort of pronunciation on "When he calls your name/Al oír tu nombre" for me that I don't really know how to describe but really like and many of the others are missing."

Thanks for putting my language first in your rankings 🥰
The French dub of Encanto deserve to win the prize of the best foreigner dub
I personally think Camilo's best singing voice is Latin American Spanish; he truly sounds like a 15yo, and latin languages fit on him better, the 'original' is always the best to be honest. by the way, even being Brazilian, I don't think Filipe Bragança's voice fits to Camilo; his voice is gorgeous indeed, but then Camilo be sounding like he's 20 instead of 15 (he's on puberty though), so his part is so sexy that it bothers me a lot lmfao. it's still my favorite part of the song in the Portuguese Brazilian version 'cause I like Filipe's raspy voice and the way he pronounces every word with taste, so does the Spanish voice actor.
edit 'cause I made a personal ranking:
1. Latam Spanish
2. Brazilian Portuguese
3. English
4. French
5. Tamil (no one's talking about this one but it's so satisfying to listen)
Brasileiro? Bora fumar?

A lot of Italians complained about the fact that Alvaro was chosen to sing Camillo's lines but CAN'T YOU SEE HOW MUCH THE WORLD LOVED OUR VERSION? I personally loved it
i really love our version i think alvaro did a great job I HAVE A CRUSH ON HIM SINCE 2015
@@-rruby I LOVED HIM TOO SINCE HE DID A SONG WITH MY NAME😭😭(Mira sofia)
I just found out he voices Camilo, I did not realize! Even though I even saw him perform live once lol
@@-rruby vero! (lol tra italiani abbandono l'inglese) la sua voce da un colore unico alla nostra versione. Onestamente ossessionata
@@majora5651 lol, he really did a great job
I was waiting for my country to show up and when the top 3 showed up I thought you "forgot" to put it in and guess what, it's first place 😂, in an objective position this is my favorite in all of those voices actors but all of them were cool ! Nice video, love it 👌🏾❤👀
OMG U PUT MY LANGUAGE IN FOURTH PLACE EEEEEK!!!!! TYSM
Honestly I think it should be on 6 but PLLLLS TTYSSSSMMMM!!!!!
i think the brazilian portuguese versions fits more than you think, in brazil, 15 year olds have deeper more masculine voices.
but i agree that his voice is gorgeous.
sim eu botaria a versão brasileira no mínimo no top 10
Ok personally I like pretty much all of them, but the ones that stood out to me the most were:
1. English
2. Japanese
3. Latin American Spanish
4. And Thai
I think it was great to hear your opinions, and to know we kinda think the same
This is what he says in Japanese:
Rats on his back.
Taken in the darkness.
He waits impatiently for your screams.

I feel like the English version fits Camilo perfectly 🤩 (this is just my opinion)
Italian is the best sorry people
Thanks so much… This is amazing
I love it!i am Dutch so and it sounds EXACTLY LIKE THAT!
Fun fact: the Swedish Camilo is Tusse, he is one of Sweden’s most popular singers if not the one most popular. He participated in Eurovision 2021 and got 14th place with his song Voices.
I was suprised that he voiced Camilo. Based on how tusse usually talks and sings i had no idea he was Camilo. Hi’s normal voice is a whole lot brighter.
@@kallamigmarre6137 Yeah, i agree. When i first found put it was him i was MIND BLOWN! But Tusse can rearrange his voice very much and that’s what he did here.
It's interesting how they got such a popular singer where as in the American version camilios voice actor isn't really a singer. I mean he knows how to, but doesn't do it much when compared to the rest of the cast and for being in a Disney musical
So did Damir Kedžo for Croatia in 2020
Tusse!!! 🇸🇪💙💛💙💛💙💛💙💛
im so happy that people finally starting to separate brazillian portuguese from portuguese, because they ARE different and have their own voice actors!!!! thanks for the respect
Sim!!
Yess, im from Portugal, and i was happy that they gave attention to both versions cause most forget theyre separate >
@@lululu174 same here !!
Gosta? Kkkkkk deixou lá no final e achou a outra la bonita 🤣
Im so happy when people acknowledge how different the dialects are! And how they’re both beautiful!
I'm so happy you ranked European Portuguese in the 7th place. Our dub is always trashed by people (portuguese and non-portuguese) because the team of voice actors is usually very small, leading to one actor having to do a lot of the character's voices. Obviously the voice quality of many characters decreases since they purposely do "weird voices" to distinguish between every character they have to voice.
Anyways, I think the cast outdid themselves this time, and I'm flattered you like how Portuguese sounds :)
Abraços!
I was waiting for the french one and thought you forgot about it but it was first place, I'm kinda proud idk why
i personally like the latin american spanish one the most, i think it just fits really well
Well that's basically how he would sound in real life so...
Same
yep
It's kinda weird the feast on your screams part:
"Grita mientras tiembles al despertar"
I'm not even sure about how translate it
First we got 2 imperative verbs, gritar and temblar or scream and shake (like, shaking of fear), I'm not sure but I think you can't even use 2 imperative verbs like that, it should say "Grita mientras tiemblas al despertar". Tiembles it's not even a common word, "faz"(I think it means face, skin or aura) or "mas"(fancy and poetic sinonim of but) are even more common words than imperative of temblar
@@azraus2500 its a little bit weird for me too but i think its something like "scream while you shake when you wake up" or something like that idk it confuses me
12:41 the French singer Tom Almodar could literally play Camilo! He looks a bit like the character and his voice is amazing
I JUST wanted to comment that!! He himself looks like Camilo so much and tbh if I were to draw a picture in my mind of how Camilo would look in the real world, my mind would draw Tom Almodar
You see, we French people are beautiful, except me (yes I'm French, don't judge my English)😅😅

Absolutely loved the Cantonese version! Changing his voice everytime camilo transforms into bruno was amazing!
In Norwegian the “he sees your dreams and feasts on your screams” is “everything he interprets, it ends in screams” it amazes me
I'm glad to see the Polish and Croatian versions so high! I totally agree, both of them have a special feeling hen they pronounce the r's, along with them English, Spanish, French, Japanese and Italian are my favorites.
If you’re wondering what he says in Japanese, it’s this:

Rats on his back.
Taken in the darkness.
He waits impatiently for your screams.

New sub amazing video ❤️ I love how you respect everyone!
My personal favorite will always be the Spanish version. It's how I imagine him sounding when I look at him, AND the way those R's roll off his tongue...It's MEZMERISING
I'm very biased to English but not to being a English only speaker (I speak french as well) but the raspy nature is just so fitting for what Camilo tries to do with his verse, he tries to scare not just the MC but make the audience fear Bruno, and the English version displays this point the best, and I find myself hooked as soon as I heard Rhenzy's voice
Right?!? I didn’t know it was Rhenzy until I looked it up and than I was excited because I was a huge runaways fan when the show came out!
Para mí es Major la de dapañol
I really like the Latin American Spanish version, as someone who's trying to learn spanish I like to sing along when I can and Camilo's part is always fun to sing. (I don't sing it anywhere near as well of course XD)
Oo where's your pfp from?
Me too! Learning the song in Spanish has been so much fun, and there's so many new words !
Good luck with learning it!
Colombian spanish speaker here!
As a Latin American speaker, good luck!
Im soooooo obsessed with the music and the original voice!
Disney knows who to hire, always, the actors and their voices are so good 🥰 my top 5 (no hate) are:
1. English
2. Malay
3. Greek
4. Italian
I like all anyways 💜

His voice is really georgeous, maybe if Camilo were a few years older it would fit perfectly. My favorite version of the song is in Brazilian Portuguese, but yeah, Camilo's voice in Spanish fit perfect for him
My top 3:
1- Spanish
2- Brazilian
3- English, just because its the "original" even though he looks older in english too
same, I'd add French too
@@issanagayyesoryes I was going to add more but I got lazy xd
Oo that’s cool my favorites are the French, spanish, Japanese & English
I'm glad you like the Brazilian Portuguese so much :D It might sound a bit different for other people, but here in Brazil it's pretty usual to find boys at that age with a "older" voice. I loved the Korean and Spanish version too.
