What a great series Indycar is right now. No gimmicks or unnecessary cautions, just pure racing. The car and rules, right now, seem to allow close racing. I also love the commentating team, Paul Tracy in particular. Great knowledge and a good sense of humour.
Tibor Zef love PT!
No gimmicks? Um how about being sponsored by non automotive companies? How about those ridiculous bios they do on drivers, making them take real time video crossing their arms like some wannabe hood rapper? How about putting Nicole Briscoe on at every opportunity to push their feminize agenda, because Danica failed to do it?
@@SadisticStang Non automotive companies? Is there a racing series that follows this logic?
I've watched this race 3-4 times. Definitely top 3 best races of 2018. Bourdais owned this race, even if he didn't win. Bourdais is truly a badass driver.
Bourdais is just a beast.
So is Pagenaud, Newgarden, Power, Wickens, Rossi, Hunter-Reay, and obviously Dixon.
And that's why IndyCar is the best championship in the world.
Indy Car has struck GOLD with this new aero kit and car design. Superb race that proves racing can be exciting without cautions!
Jealous yet, F1?
F1 is the pinnacle of track racing. The US style is easier.
The proof of that is that no indy driver has managed to succeed in F1. But the f1 pilots are successful in indy.
Allan Quesada Gómez What is exciting about watching Ferrari and mercedies win practically every race of the last 3 years? Oh and I guess sometime red bull does something.
There's no passing in F1 to speak of. Come talk to me next time there are more than 150 on track passes like theyre we're in this race.
Just because Indy teams don't have literally hundreds of millions to develope their cars doesn't make it "easier".
Indy cars race on street circuits as well as road coursed which F1 doesn't do (maybe you could say baku?), which in my opinion makes things more fun to watch throughout the year.
Also comparing f1 where teams are allowed to develope thir own engines and aero and Indy Car, where all tech is standardized, is pretty pointless if you ask me.
The 2022 aero regulations for F1 are much more like Indy cars.
Allan Quesada Gómez I know I’m replying to an old comment but, Mario Andretti and Bobby Rahal
@@quincygaming9529 f1 races on many race circuits you moron
Thank you Indycar for uploading these races!!!
This was a great race...Sebastian Bourdais and Scott Dixon made for some great entertainment.
2021 still rewatching this 2018 indycar full races.
I'm coming back to watch the misc races they post.
Paul Tracy was always a top flight driver and racer. Never thought he would do well in the booth though. Boy was I wrong. His viewpoint is cool to listen too, and his memory of past events is impressive.
He's one of the names I think of when thinking of the greatest CART racers of all time
Indycar no politics, little drama, unlike F1...Nice to watch decent racing.
when you face twice the Gs in the car i guarantee you that the racing we have in F1 is quite impressive. if vettel wasn't so wild under pressure, if kimi was better, if redbull, Mclaren and Renault had a decent engine, it would be supreme of the cream. absolute madness racing a lightning speeds.
You are naive if you think there's no politics.
@@JayB-lz6yd If my aunt had balls she'd be my uncle.
I've come back to Indy. I was watching F1 for a while because I like how it's worldwide but the Abu Dhabi grand prix last year kind of illustrated everything wrong with that series. Much like the world cup and the Olympics, they reward corruption in local governments. And the races have gotten quite boring to watch.
so rewatching 2018 races now getting ready for March.
@@SadisticStang Lol you are so sad
Bourdais overtakes were ruthless. If he were to have started further up, he probably would have won
you guys are much better than f1 media wise. you posts full races for the people who don’t have access to watch this live on tv. awesome job, indycar!
The racing is even better too 😂🎉
Loving the INDYCAR action in 2018!! Keep them coming!!
Love your work, from Oz
This is 100% of the best races I have ever watched. Great cars, great circuit, great action!
Thought a boxing match was going to break out in the booth a few times. Its great to see announcers so into it and so passionate.
Man these new cars look soooo good. Fantastic racing too. Indycar is on to something for sure! Much more fun than F1.
Indy still does not have the efficiency, elegance, budget of F1
Allan Quesada Gomez does that even matter if its way more entertaining?
F1 is about glam. Indy car is about racing.
Allan Quesada Gómez Who cares about any of that when the racing is pure shite.
Great racing. I've missed this type of action. I'll have to start following Indy again.
7:12 Green green green (or for Rossi brake brake brake)
Robert Wickens was on a roll. So sad to hear the commentators saying how good his results were and the next race would be Pocono...
Mid Ohio was his last full indycar race. He finished a fine second place in front of the Penske boys, with a midfield team.
If Rossi didn't take him out of the first race in St Petersburg, Wickens had wrote history in winning his first IndyCar race from pole...
It's becoming increasingly obvious that the Midwest is becoming IndyCar biggest market.
It's been from the start. It is called "Indy" car after all
Another great race with actual passing
Noyice
Awesome race!
F1archive yes sir! I hope this channel keeps uploading full races
Thank you so much for putting the race on youtube!
1:04:15 LOL the commentators disagreeing
I had to watch this race on my phone with no sound in a public setting. Had I heard this live I'd have been laughing the rest of the race. This is the first I've heard it now -- I believe they were disagreeing about Rossi's start too, no?
Someone send this to Fernando Alonso. How can he say no to IndyCar, lol?
tommythetreat000 how? Formula 1 is the pinnacle of track racing. He gets more money, drives way faster cars and is more popular. Why would he make a switch to Indy?
+Niko Moin you don't have only one person dominating the entire year in indycar you have a chance to win
y e s kinda 😂
@@charyvon so what he gets way more money like Daniel went to Renault why? He got paid like 60m instead of like 15m from going from top 3 team to a midfield team
Indycar is sooooo boring I don't think I heard a different sound the entire race on turns on straights everywhere I dont even hear a sound change and those cars are sooooo slow on turns and on straights
I been watching this series on and off whenever i get the chance or see it on cable tv, but now with youtube or online apps its great and so awesome, the tight and fast racing is so good.
On the other side F1 is what it stands for Follow 1 car🤔🤭
love the race control decision speed. in F1 a decision like the start issue or Chilton spinning Sato would take 20 mins to start being reviewed, then 15 mins for a decision or the decision that its being investigated after the race, which usually means no further action (suspiciously often for mercedes)
I was a little surprised that nobody besides Rossi tried a 2-Stop strategy. After all the red flags in practice on Friday and Saturday, I suppose most teams were gambling on at least one full course caution.
One of my favorite races of the year!
wtf this is shockingly more exciting than f1 right now
Connor Clifford
Sorry but not.
*Not shockingly, Indy > F1
From last place to P6, no cautions needed to do so. Sébastien Bourdais, you GOD!!
Major fights troughout the entire race wow...this is what REAL motorsports look like.
Any attendance report? Looked pretty good!
Sato is the king of 360 spins.
Great race, the brake check at the start was a low blow though.
You have done well
Bourdais is a BEAST
Great racing!
This aged better than any season in F1 😂
Mid-Ohio is awesome. Top 5 circuit in Indycar for sure.
My Top 5, no specific order.
Mid Ohio
Birmingham (Barber)
Long Beach
Toronto
Indianapolis GP circuit
Definitely would love to see standing starts on natural terrain road courses.
IndyCars are very easy to stall, and if you stall one, you can't restart it from the inside, it has to be from the outside, so a full course yellow would be very probable
IndyCar > F1.
One thought, can we try standing starts again??
Kyle Murray Not after the start line pile up in 2014.
MDHGames it’s ok. Saavedra is gone.
Cost the team owners too much money in body work repairs.
Kyle Murray Ah yeah true ;)
Kyle Murray always wanted that.
35:30 watch Dixon's front wing flex in the turbulence of Rossi
AlexMLB35 awesome thanks for pointing that out!
Wickens 👍👏
Tks! Great race
who else is here because Alonso is racing here next year?
Nobody. Because he isn't
its about time! :P
1:27:58 a little help here. I'm stuck
XD ... well that's embarrassing
the most technical category of the world motorsport ...
Is that Tracy comenting the race? He is doing an amaising job!
52:11 turn on the caption
Good racing, especially no yellows(few) in the new indycar series.
Very good 👍
6:36 speaking of local, #SaveTheCrew on his helmet.
Nascar And Indycar Best Moments Part 2
No sound ?
F1 has too many politics, no matter what F1 fans say, this is good clean racing
Indy racing is better but f1 really knows how to use social media. We need new young Americans to help grow the sport.
2018 Honda Indy 200 At Mid-Ohio
😁👍
Alexander Rossi And Overcast Races. What’s A Better Combo?
Watkins Glen 2017-Overcast, WIN
Long Beach 2018-Overcast, WIN
Mid Ohio 2018-Overcast, WIN
Pocono 2018-Overcast, WIN #GetWellWickens
Road America 2019-Overcast, WIN
Bring back the over the shoulder cam. Loved seeing the drivers working and feels like you're in the passenger seat.
What will happen if current indycar engines have one more gear
The gear ratios would be shorter improving acceleration.
indycar looks very exciting, I hope Alonso givs this a go I might have more fun than watching F1
Why don’t F1 upload the full races?!
Because that's how they make money - from viewers. Indycar does too but they don't even have half a million people watching their races on TV.
They should ban spotting on road courses. It needs to be up to the driver. For Oval I find it debatable, though definitely not on street/road tracks.
I fully agree!
Circuit name?
X-X Mid-Ohio
Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course
Dude it's Mid Ohio Sports Car Course
F1 and the FIA could learn a lot from Indycar
And vice versa.
The only way IndyCar could truly get better is allow blocking. Allow the drivers to make decisions
Gentlemen!....Start jur enchinzz!
1:04:30 Josef should have break-checked Dixon right there.
This isn't NASCAR.
I'm trying to find myself. 14:35
I would’ve down shifted and missed the wall
Those little tiny bottles of champagne, are just embarassing.
2018 Indycar and IMSA were great in mid ohio no cautions green flag all the way
This IS racing and makes F1 look a joke
It also makes NASCAR look like a joke. The Pocono race was embarrassing. The entire season has been embarrassing. Actually you could go further then that also tbh
Not rly. F1still>indycar
Niko Moin . I have been an F1 fan for years and only watched IndyCar since Alonso did the Indy500 last year. IndyCar is good to me because at least 1 car can follow another
Please! Run in ovals? any child can do that
Indy still does not have the efficiency, elegance, budget, and power of F1
Sounds like someone doesn't like Paul Tracy. Paul needs to throw him a hip check. It was a double move.
LOL at the end of the race when someone spins
Rossi was trying to do victory doughnuts. The car bottomed out.
🔥
🏁🏁🏁I recommend that you look through to the end🏎️🏎️🏎️
1:34 💖💘
👇👇👇👇👇
If you do 1.5x speed, it looks like F1 if you squint
Lol all these comments saying Indy is better than F1. Meanwhile F1 fans aren't thinking about Indy at all. Little minority complex there?
Indy is nice racing, though I regularly disagree with race-control. Sato spinning on the opening lap was a racing incident, while the fucked up start definitely wasn't. Also this USA commercialism culture is annoying. Sponsored camera angles... Next will be super slow pitstops because every wheel-nut has a different sponsor that needs to be mentioned.
Peter Timowreef - Funny. Why are you posting on an indycar race as an F1 fan if you are not guilty of an inferiority complex yourself. Fans of racing watch racing where it's good. When F1 racing becomes a series about racing, we'll watch more of it and compare it to indycar. Otherwise, I doubt you'll see many of us watching that borefest - let alone giving the effort to comment there. GT3 is another series to watch.
At 7:19 you can see why Rossi is a cheap driver. So sad.
LMAO. Nah he's what's called a good driver. He know how to ruffle people's feathers. When it comes to mind games, he's tough to beat. Watch qualifying for Long Beach for more examples.
Wickens lost because IndyCar was too stupid to throw a yellow, and Rossi cheated anyway.
Gianni Indycar does not manufacture finishes. But yeah they should've waved that start
There's a difference between braking and not accelerating. Rossi did the latter
Lol a terrible win for Rossi
